Also, since I cannot wait too long, I decided to go for XP Micros. I'm aware that the same product is available for much better prices. Thanks!
Hi Benzinblut- To add to what keynote has mentioned, the product is good. However please ensure proper installation is done. DO not install the high beam and only low beam will suffice. Majority of this installers will use the wires used for audio speakers and that will impact your warranty and is not safe.

While my bulbs were ok till yesterday, one of the bulbs had conked off yesterday and I texted the XP team on this and they were more than happy to replace under warranty. I have told them that I will check the wiring and then reach out to them for the replacement if it is indeed a bulb issue.

This support from them gives me quite a bit of confidence with all the initial quality control issues which most of us faced when we bought the same.

Hope this helps.

Regards Ananth

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Guys, may you please suggest if this qualifies as rusting on the engine block?

Do not worry. These are cast iron components and the colour you see is because of the oxidation. It will not pose any problems for the engine in the designated life span..

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

All this time I was under the impression the boot lamp on the scross is completely manual - the *only* way to control it was with the switch. So I always kept it off and switched it on only when required. Was about to embark on a project on my 6 month old zeta to wire up the boot lamp to the cabin lamps. Mainly because it feels quite silly to be fumbling around for the switch in the dark.

For some reason I started flipping through the manual and stumbled into this:
Maruti S-Cross : Official Review-img_20180106_134646.jpg

It appears the belief that the lamp is totally manual is partly (in)correct. What I observed, and in line with the manual is:
1. When the switch is in the off position, the lamp remains off regardless of hatch/door open states
2. When the switch is in the on position, it comes on whenever any of the doors or boot is opened. However when all the doors and the boot are closed, it stays on for the same duration as the cabin lights and goes off (with the same theatre dimming action) when the cabin lights go off.

So yes, the lamp does not go off the instant the boot is closed, but it does not stay on for more than 5 - 6 secs. And it comes on unnecessarily whenever the doors are opened.

While this isn't ideal, I'm just going to leave the boot lamp switch in the on position and scrap the project. Sharing for the benefit of others with the same (mis)understanding.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

In Dec 2017, I went on a vacation and spotted these -

The front grills on these are better than the ones that we have here and most of them have been extensively driven in roads with no tarmac.

I also like that orange colour. Do we have that here?

There are a lot of differences between the Chinese S cross and the one available in India. Some differences which I could spot:

Different color schemes, both inside and out
No reach adjustment for steering
Rear fog lamps
Petrol option
Automatic option
Sunroof
Traction control etc.

Manual:

Automatic:

Looking for some quick help - how much quantity of engine oil (5W-30) is needed for 1.3 S-Cross? Thanks in advance!

IIRC, it is 3.1 liters, though I will wait for experts to confirm

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Got the third free service. They now have an exclusive Nexa service center in Bombay. And although they told me it is in "Dadar East", in reality it is an area known as Bhoiwada / Naigaon - neither of which I had heard of.

But once you manage to get there, it would certainly put the crappy basement lounge at the Bombay T2 terminal to shame.

The center is pristine. I was amazed at how often everything was being cleaned. You can easily see what is going on inside the center.

The waiting lounge is plush with excellent coffee machines, cookies, chips, a fridge with some juices and bottled water. The attention to detail is applaud worthy - the screen on the coffee machine displays various Nexa cars. There are two huge screens which constantly update you about the status of your car.

I was there for 3 hours and got more work done on my Laptop than I do at my office desk. No disturbances at all.

Additionally, I was surprised to see that my final bill was lesser than what was quoted by about 1k.

I got the S-cross updated to Android Auto 1750. I had earlier updated the SW myself. Honestly, I don't notice any difference between the two versions. Here are some pics.
