Greetings,
I have given my Scross for 40k service.
After the service, the technicians have taken the car for a test ride.
I have received a call from the Nexa Head Office saying there is an alert for Rise in Engine temperature.
This is because of the Nexa Connect Device in my Car.
At the same time I have received an alert on my mobile about the same.
I immediately called the service advisor and visited the service center.
He says they have topped up the coolant.
My question to senior members are
1) What will be after effects of this fiasco on the engine?
2) Will this event be recorded in the ECU? Will there be any errors?
3? Will it have any effect on the warranty?
Please Advice.

Prior to the change of coolant I have specifically asked for the ratio and I was told 50:50.
I suggested 4 parts coolant to 2 parts distilled water. They said no need.

I am amazed how I did not realize for a long time that I have been driving with a faulty steering. Only when one of my friend drove my car, did he tell me that something feels odd. Now when I come to think of it, probably my steering has been a little sticky for more than two years. At times when these issues slowly creep up on you, as a daily user of the car it becomes difficult to even know that there is an issue.

Found some s-cross variants in olx that are registered around August, 2017 which looks like facelift models but don't have SHVS. AFAIK the facelift ones were available around september-october period and with the SHVS.
Does this mean these cars are 2015 models but retrofitted to look like facelift models? Carwale and teambhp have no signs of facelift models without SHVS. The ones I found are all BSIV Zeta 1.3

Guys, what should be the fare value of my used, 1st owner, S-Cross 1.3 Zeta 2017 (Feb), driven for 47500 Kms, I have upsized & changed all the 4 tyres to Yokohama just 1 month back and zero dep insurance is valid till Feb-2022. No major accidents, just a few small bumper dents repair done at Maruti Authorized SC. Have seen online prices ranging from 7.40-to 7.75, but when the valuation is done by car dealers they are quoting very low.

I've been looking at used S-cross' for a while now. Given your car is in excellent condition - internal and external, a 47.5k in ODO for the 4 year old car would fetch around 7 lakhs if there is complete service history from ASS.
As you have just got new set of tyres, you can get quote slightly higher. These are the price ranges for the first-gen(2015-2017) S-cross.

If you have time and patience, try to sell it directly through online classifieds. It's very hard to fetch this price through dealers. You would get only around 6 from dealers for a 4 year old car.

Yes, a few members have upgraded their pre FL cars to look like FL cars. These would be non SHVS cars, if you are looking for that specifically.

Earlier sometime during the last month, I found an item from MGA line up that I quiet liked and one which I wanted. the boot mat. The felt lined mat is good, but when carrying coconuts and rice in gunny sacks, it was making my life hell. It was a pain to clean the felt board and if not cleaned properly, it was bound to catch kind of infection with white patches. Hence the decision for this purchase.

The mat is definitely not luxurious and you would have to place something strategically in the corners to support them from below. But it is very utilitarian and I like it a lot. Fit is really good. part number can be seen in one of the pictures below.

S-Cross 1.6: 2.33 lakh kms driven in 4+ years!!







Thanks to Mr. Varun Choudhury for sharing the pics and the following details.

1. The car was purchased in May 2017 and it was driven all over the country

2. Routine service was done at every 10k kms.

3. The car has run only on Maruti approved 0W30 engine oil without any issues.

4. Tyres were changed every 50k kms. Stock JK Elanzos were used every time.

5. Battery was changed after 2 years. OE Panasonic didn't have good life. Replacement battery (Amaron) is still doing good.

6. Front brake pads were changed every 20k kms and rear brake pads at every 40k kms. Only MGP brake pads were used. The car is still on factory brake rotors, never changed or skimmed.

7. No major suspension work except for stabilizer link rods and few bushes.

8. Warranty replacements : Rear suspension beam, Steering column, Oil pressure switch

9. Clutch was changed at 1.95 lakh kms.

10. Timing belt and supporting parts were changed at 1.75 lakh kms.

11. The car is bone stock except for HID fog projectors.

12. Routine service charges never exceeded 7-8k.

This is the highest run 1.6 I have come across till date. The car has been pretty reliable too .

There are quite a few 1.6 which have been facelifted. It's a matter of taste. Some prefer the pre FL version, with its understated, classic looks. I personally like the new one better..

Maruti doesn't mention anything about replacement of timing belt and engine accessory drive belt for S-Cross 1.6.

As per International manual:

Timing belt: 140,000 km / 5 years
Engine accessory drive belt: 80,000 km / 4 years

Most of the cars would be close to 5 years now and it's better to change these parts

Facing an 2nd to 3rd gear slotting problem almost on a daily basis, especially the first time of the day. Sometimes I rarely get it upshifting from 4th to 5th. Is this the famous sync rings (Ertiga, Dzire & Swift: Gearbox Synchronizer Failure) problem?

There is no change in clutch behavior though.

Car is nearing its 3rd birthday with 62K on the clock.

Any thoughts?

You can try changing the transmission oil. Maruti says 1.6 lakh km / 10 years, but it's better to change. Since you observe this issue only during cold start it is most likely the transmission oil.

Weren't the synchro rings subsequently updated on the S cross (I think in all engines in a higher state of tune for 90HP), Since yours must be the face lifted model it should have the new(er) synchro. I had a similar issue, MASS changed the transmission oil but that did nothing. I also thought it was the Synchro but the problem went away after they replaced the clutch plate. This was at 40k KMS.

My 1.3 had the same issue. Issue went off after replacing clutch plate at around 40k.

Did you try for warranty? I had to pay for mine. Despite at least 60% of the 40k KMS being on the highway the clutch was gone too soon.
