re: Review: Hyundai Creta (1st-gen)

Would it be better for folks who are changing their alloys on Sx+ variant to sell their OEM alloys to others instead of trading in at showroom!

SX+ comes with 5th wheel in steel, and I am sure there are many who would like to buy the 5th one of same design alloy(diamond cut 17" wheel). I for one would like to go for one when I get my car delivered in 1st week Oct.

Creta Accessories from Mobis

Most of the new buyers have to decide on buying accessories for their steed. Since mostly genuine accessories are not available, local stores are preferred/chosen. The local stores may be having larger variety but still some of us would like to mostly get the company authorized accessories. I have in the past time and again gone to the Hyundai website and tried the build your own car section to find out Creta accessories but have always drawn a blank.

During my last visit to the dealer, i was inquiring about good mats and when escorted to their store, found two brochures. Since the brochure mentions Mobis and Hyundai Genuine Accessories, i got hold of them and am attaching a scan of the Creta accessories brochure.

Their front bumper guard does not foul with the sensors, which was a query of one of the member. For my steed, I have got the side step installed from the Hyundai dealer.

There is another brochure for common accessorizes for all Hyundai vehicles. Have got that too and can share if required.

EDIT : Got a PM from one of the members to share common one too. So here it goes.

Quite right, rsuresh, it was the right decision to rinse the element in water. This is standard practice in domestic systems too (both split & window types) in case you have observed the AMC chaps doing their stuff during their home visits. And also on board ocean-going liners with their central systems (and this I can vouch for! - tho' we do use certain chemicals too).

In fact (aside from bio-medical applications where sterilized air is a requirement with specialized filter elements) most air handling system filters need rinsing with water at intervals.
But then, so much for the vaunted Hyundai brand's ASS technical back-up. I guess it is not so much Hyundai (or any other brand for that matter) - it is more the deep-seated (DNA-depth!) chalta-hai mind-set prevalent in our country.

Thanks for sharing the accessories brochure, Colonel. Does it list a price for that battery jump-start cable? I've been looking for a good jumper cable to add to my tool bag, and I'm doubtful of the quality of those sold online. It's good that Mobis is selling one - I'll pick it up from the stand-alone Mobis outlet or from Hyundai Motor Plaza.

re: Review: Hyundai Creta (1st-gen)

OK. One small niggle and want to know if anybody has faced yachting similar.

In Nanook, I have a USB which plays audio files in my AVN system. When switched ON in the morning, the volume initially at which the sound is played is very low. This is happening for the last one month. After a minute or so there is a loud khidch-khidch jarring sound and it comes back to normal volume. It happens on most of the days and is very irritating.

I had thought that the software upgrade during the second service will eliminate this, but that did not happen. So i did a reset by pressing the small button, but it still persists.

Anyone with a solution or i run after Hyundai again. My steering issue still pending with them.

Part III against drinking + driving. Decent, but not as impressive as the first two. Also, didn't quite get the connection between ABS + rollover.

re: Review: Hyundai Creta (1st-gen)

I got a call from Hyundai to tell that I can take my Creta to the nearest dealership and get my brakes checked if they arent upto the mark. Looks like after so many complaints Hyundai is taking an initiative to make Cretas braking better.

I'm so happy to hear that. You got the AT right? The main complaint Moral & I had with the Diesel AT (and petrol AT) were its brakes. I hope Hyundai sorts this out.

Please do keep this thread updated with the solution. If you manage to take pics etc., do start a new thread in the Technical section. Will help other AT owners.

Thanks!

Hyundai just disclose a statement where he explains that the Hyundai Crete (or ix25) sold in Brazil will be exclusive of our market. According to the company, the vehicle will have equipment and fully differentiated design of the markets in which it's marketed, such as India, Russia and other countries of South America.
