I have competed almost 11 months with the Creta At. 15000 kms on the Odo. The vehicle has become the daily workhorse for me and my family. AT is a boon in the city as well as on the highway. The only disappointing thing is the way it drives in the hills where you need to downshift to make it pull through. There is a lot of rattling sound from the boot. Has anyone found any solution to it ?

This may be due to the real parcel tray.

BHPian Naveen.Raju had elaborated in a small DIY how it can be eliminated and can be read on his thread. Link to where he mentions this :-

Hope it helps. Keep us updated.

Hi,
It is generally best to drive on Tiptronic mode in the hills, while going up and coming down too. Going up gives you better acceleration and coming down will give you better braking via engine braking.

This is a general problem with any automatic, as the car can't predict an uphill, but you can see and act accordingly. With Automatics, on uphill, you will have to keep pressing down the pedal which in turn changes to a lower gear.

Hope this helps.

India-bound Hyundai Tucson gets Android Auto feature – Australia

I had been thinking for a while whether Hyundai could offer Android Auto as a free/paid software upgrade to existing Creta owners and I happened to come across this article which says its being done for the new Tucson.

Android Auto would be a nice feature to have and since the hardware is already present all it requires is a software upgrade. Thoughts ?

Software upgrade for existing customers takes just 15 min, and is done free of charge.

Hyundai has included the Android Auto in-car infotainment technology to the Australian spec Tucson. The smartphone mirroring feature is a free upgrade to existing customers and takes just 15 min at the dealership to activate.

The Android Auto system lets drivers and passengers to mirror smartphones to view maps, send text messages, make phone calls and load apps from their car’s touchscreen.

For all those who have renewed their insurance for their Creta, please could you help me with the amount you paid. I have the SX(O) and the proposal from the dealer for renewal is 48,000. Is this a reasonable amount with inclusions of zero depreciation + RTI ?

Use the dashboard polish on all the plastic claddings every 2 - 3 months, apply the polish and then wipe with clean cloth, the shine will remain for a month or so and then will require cleaning. After applying polish ensure that the claddings are washed everyday whilst car is washed, it works well.

I have a petrol SX+ with an IDV of 9,56,000/- and i paid Rs 26300/- for zero dep insurance through Bharti AXA.

Insurance cost will vary with IDV and model. If you are in Mumbai try out Coverfox. They offered me great deals and support but due to my locations i had to go elsewhere.

Most of the new buyers have to decide on buying accessories for their steed. Since mostly genuine accessories are not available, local stores are preferred/chosen. The local stores may be having larger variety but still some of us would like to mostly get the company authorized accessories. I have in the past time and again gone to the Hyundai website and tried the build your own car section to find out Creta accessories but have always drawn a blank.

During my last visit to the dealer, i was inquiring about good mats and when escorted to their store, found two brochures. Since the brochure mentions Mobis and Hyundai Genuine Accessories, i got hold of them and am attaching a scan of the Creta accessories brochure.

Their front bumper guard does not foul with the sensors, which was a query of one of the member. For my steed, I have got the side step installed from the Hyundai dealer.

There is another brochure for common accessorizes for all Hyundai vehicles. Have got that too and can share if required.

EDIT : Got a PM from one of the members to share common one too. So here it goes.

Hi

How much did the dealer charge for the side step and its installation?
Also share whether this design enhances the look of the vehicle or is only for utility purpose. Asking this since there are a lot of after market options available.
Is any other dealer provided accessory shown in your list worth a buy from the "value for money" perspective? (which enahnces the look of the vehicle as well as provides utility)

As soon as you press the 'Stop' button the entire car shuts down, including the ICE and air blowers! Shouldn't it be just the engine shutdown on 1 press? Find such things really frustrating!

Charges were 13447 plus taxes.

It has both utility and enhancement IMO. In fact now i can easily clean the full roof by standing on the side steps and they seem to be very sturdy. Catch a lot of dust though.

I am not a fan of extra chrome which is adequate in an SX+, but would at some point of time add the front and rear bumpers which are way better than after market ones.

They are subtle, fit snugly, do not over shadow everything else and most importantly do not interfere in the Airbag sensor functions. Only drawback is price.
