Ohh, I was not aware of that. I thought that this will work for previous gen aspire as well. I plan to get this done over the weekend, will let you know how it goes.

Visited the service centre on Thursday. Was attended very well by the staff. I pointed out the issue and the mechanics started working on the same. They removed the music system and mobile dock along with the panel below the steering to access the sensor. I felt removal of the music system was not required. They cleaned up the sensor and fitted the same. That time the noise was not there. But I noticed that the seats and carpet mats were a bit dirty and few scratch/scuff marks on the dashboard and facia. Though they were apologetic and offered to clean, I went out as I was running out of time.

After about 20 minutes the buzzing sound returned and this time it was more violent. I informed the service centre about it and they mentioned that they have ordered the part and would replace it as soon as it comes.

This time I would make sure that the sensor is accessed without removing the centre panels.

When I checked with the showroom today, they mentioned that the engine guard only makes sense for the diesel variant of the Aspire. As per the sales executive, the 3-cylinder petrol engine generates a lot more heat and the guard would hinder the airflow for cooling. Not sure how far this is true - what do you think?

The reason may be because the mounting points for the guard will differ between petrol and diesel and they probably have the guard for only diesel.
Did they say it will the old Aspire too?

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

The one touch roll up of the driver side window quit working. It began after the battery was disconnected for some work yesterday. The one touch roll down works fine and so does manually pressing for roll up and down. I remember reading about this issue earlier on this thread.

Anyway knows what the reason is, please do post it.

It happens when the battery is disconnected and reconnected again. It is absolutely normal. It will be fine after you use it for a few times.

Unfortunately the engine guard fits only the new Aspire. I had visited the Metro Ford parts godown were they checked if the part is a match against the chassis number, which it wasn't.

This is a sad news.

I was glued to this thread and this issue for finding out if this engine guard can be fitted to older generation Aspire or not. For Indian road conditions, under body engine cover should be included in any of this so called essential car accessories kit.

Thanks for taking the initiative to go in depth for the answer.

Dear Sir,

the engine under shield is not always a very good accessory. Say there are coolant leakages or engine oil leakages (I had this issue in Ritz VDi since engine elbow had ruptured), then you won't come to know even.

If you want to change the engine oil by a garage outside Ford, the mechanic will struggle to do it since the Allen key or wrench spanner to loosen the nuts is not given by Ford to you. I prefer to get the engine oil changes from out to pour the synthetic Castrol Gtx 5W 40 oil which is such a refined product.

Call me by name, I am possibly younger than you.

Coming to this point, I won't argue with your idea since it is very much possible. A gaurd down below may make it hard for someone detect leakage.

Infact that is why I mentioned this to be given as accessories. Someone like me who do check their oil levels via visual and dipstick method may not find leakage detection any major issue.

But then again, depending on driving surface, we can certainly have difference of opinion based on our priority.

You may want to give this thread a read.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techn...ty-period.html (Can I use my own engine oil while the car is in the warranty period?)

Ford seems to have given in writting that out side oil, even if that matches their specification will void warranty.

I've been facing this problem ever since the battery was removed during clutch kit replacement but even after more than 20 days the problem still persists.

Can someone guide me how to rectify this issue?

Try this - Start the car & hold the window roll up button for 15-20 seconds. Then try the auto roll up. It may work as it has worked for me. Happened during a rat bite fix which included wiring change and battery disconnection during the fix.

Abhinav is almost right.
Switch on the ignition. Roll up the window and then hold up the switch for about 20-30 seconds.
It should be activated.

It's mentioned (sort of) in the manual, page 48.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

@Mods I am not sure which thread to use for this post. So if required, please move my post to any appropriate thread.

Couple of days ago I received a call from Saini Ford Kolkata regarding a Ford India event scheduled on 29/12/2018 at Swissotel Kolkata. The caller informed me about the event regarding my car purchased from their dealership. Thinking about this as a Ford feedback event, I agreed to attend and I received their official invitation via SMS. (which is attached below).

I wasted my Saturday evening, my wife (being a banker) had to cut short her office to attend this event. But to my utter surprise, this event had nothing to do with Ford India. Though this dealership was using Ford brand name everywhere on this event but it was all about sales promotion and sales pitch from Club Mahindra. There was nothing about Ford except their brand name. Nothing remotely related to sales / service / promotion or feedback. They were only trying to score few holiday vouchers or Club Mahindra membership sale.

I am shocked to find my personal information getting shared with Club Mahindra and Ford is allowing it's dealership to use it's brand name for holiday voucher sale to their existing customers.
