Can someone suggest a good Android HU to replace the existing stock FlyAudio HU? I have a BS6 Apsire Diesel. I'm basically upgrading this to use Google maps integrated into the screen rather than separately from phone.
Also recommend a good dealer in around Banaswadi area, Bangalore to get this replaced?

For my 2015 Aspire, keeping stock HU, using Plimpton L1 device since few weeks(available on amazon). Basically for AppleCarPlay and AndroidAuto and happy with it.

Hi Bhpians,

(2016) Ford Figo Aspire Titanium Plus (AT) Petrol, can anybody here tell me what gear box it is equipped with?
It does say "AT" which usually means a TC (Torque Converter) unit, but in this forum I've also seen owners mentioning that their car is equipped with a Dual Clutch box!

Thanks,

Thanks,

AFAIK Aspire 1.5 AT was equipped with dual clutch transmission. Though I remember reading reviews online at that time that it didn't behave as sprightly as a dual clutch should.

The last model they shipped was a TC. Have that one, is a good highway performer but shifts are slow. The sports mode holds gear longer so you can accelerate harder. City also it's good but in bangalore getting 6-7 kmpl in b2b traffic.

Mine is a 2018 model.

After 6 blissful years of ownership and 80K Kms on the ODO, I had to let go of my Figo Aspire TDCI MY '18 model. Ever since I upgrade to a bigger Diesel Automatic SUV, the Figo became a complete city beater and the last year of ownership saw only 4000 Kms on the ODO.

The Figo was the first car I ever bought and had been with me through all my life events so far. It was very hard to let go, but the year on year service costs, insurance costs, Extended Warranty costs, plus lack of additional parking space made no sense in hanging on to it any longer.

To summarize my ownership: ZERO REGRETS. I would unapologetically travel back in time and buy it again!

I can totally feel you mate! Even if Ford had watered down its DNA with aspire, it’s still a freaking awesome josh machine. It’s really sad that Ford was forced to quit India. I do dearly miss you, I wish you had been around and I could’ve traded my aspire for the stunning Ford Taurus sedan (sold in the Middle East), I know it’s wishful thinking, but what a beauty of a car it is. Or maybe to a new fiesta (me being a sedan guy).

I’m in a similar boat right now and can totally relate to your experience, brother. I have a 2015 aspire petrol (58k km) which was my first car and I was so proud to buy with my own money. My best memory with my dearest Aspire was when I got stuck elsewhere and came back to Hyderabad after 1.5 years during covid, the engine cranked instantly (after a quick jump start) what a pleasing sound it was to hear. And more so, when you denied being towed like a king who will never bow down even when completely wounded from the inside. With a service bill of just 13.5k after being dead for 19 months was something that I was pleasantly surprised with.

Hello, my dearest blue oval- I’ll always be proud to call you as my first love (ahem, wife never checks tbhp) and my soon to be my beloved ex!

About 10 days back, i finally did what i had been itching to do so from quite a while - I got my car Wolfd!!

Ford Aspire : Official Review-wolfd.jpg

I got the Stage one plus remap done at EE-Whitefield for the car and BOY !! I regret all those days that i delayed taking the decision.
The engine feels super smooth and i felt that all these days- there was something holding back those moving parts of the car, it just glides like wow!
The last weekend, i drove to my home town on the pathetic Blr-Tumkur + the
awesome Tumkur-Hubli road and if you are not careful, you will not know when the speedo has hit 120 kmph. The magic is felt just at the moment the turbo starts to spool. With all the josh happening, i was not too concerned with the mileage (never was) but still, the MID showed an average of 19.7 KMPL. I am told that there is no additional nothing that needs to be done - be it oil change / air filter / service intervals etc... The guy who flashed the ECU did suggest to replace to a K&N filter in the next change - since i had replaced mine in the July at the ASS for the 7th year annual service.
The car has completed close to 45 thousand Kms from 2017 till now.

A big Thank you to all the ford car owners in this forum who shared in their experience after getting their cars remapped, which gave me the confidence to go ahead and bite the bullet!!

Thanks,

2016-2018 Aspire came with DCT
20118 Aspire Facelift had TC
2016-2018 Figo had DCT
2019-2021 Facelift Figo had a TC gearbox.

The 2018 Aspire Facelift and 2019 Figo came with a 1.5 TC

The 2020-21 Aspire/Figo came with 1.2 L engine and TC transmission.

Finally you got wolf'd. The car feels more lively to drive post remap! 120kmph will pop up in 3rd gear itself and the car feels soo addictive to drive that I've driven 1.1L kms in my EcoSport post remap.

I have a weird problem with my 2018 Figo Aspire (pre-facelift).

The engine jerks unexpectedly out of the blue and the intensity of it varies from time to time. It feels as if the fuel line is choked and the engine is struggling for fuel supply trying to stay running and give power. I've not been able to drill down to the cause of these instances happening. This happens sometime even in just 200 meters of driving with a single occupant (me - the driver) or even after riding 200/400kms.

Weirdly, this happens at random and I'm not able to explain this to anyone except my dad who has witnessed this in action multiple times being the passenger. I only have 2 videos of it (luckily) attached inline captured when the jerks were too strong and I parked the vehicle aside to capture it from the engine bay as well as the tachometer going up and down on the dash.

Adding to the problem is that I took the car twice to the service station (Sequel Ford Nagpur) to report the issue, and both times they returned the vehicle as is, saying they couldn't spot the issue either while driving or on sensor readings. They even claim that they checked the fuel line for any faults, but couldn't find any. Not sure if I can believe them.

Since the issue started, I've (cautiously) driven the car 1500+kms and the issue still persists at random to date, with the latest one occurring in a 400kms trip yesterday. The issue happened at 200kms which is when I stopped the vehicle for 5 mins and drove it again back 200 km to home. After restarting, while the vehicle behaved normally with minor jerks at some points.

Hi. Were you able to find out what the issue is? We have as aspire petrol with DCT gearbox and the check engine light came on with engine knocking. Took it to the FASS and they said the code refers to the gearbox. But it feels like it is a fuel issue to me or an exhaust issue. If it’s gearbox, then it’s going to be expensive so thought will check with you once. Thanks.

I had the same issue in my 2019 petrol Aspire(manual) with check engine and spanner light glowing in tandem. Engine used to knock and the smoothness was not there. The car used to run but it felt like something is choking the fuel lines or throttle body. Initially throttle body was cleaned and spark plugs were changed but errors and problem still persisted. Finally, the culprit was diagnosed to faulty intake manifold sensor. It was replaced and car is back to normal. This was not diagnosed by FASS but by a reliable FNG that had good recommendation from fellow team-bhpians!!

Thank you. Yes got the spark plugs changed and the throttle body cleaned this time. The problem hasnt cropped up again until now since it was done. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is solved. Will get the intake manifold sensor checked if it happens. Need to find a good FNG in Guwahati now.

I would be looking to buy a aspire/Figo/ecosport sometime this year. The ecosport would obviously cost me more and since this is a car being bought only for short duration I wanted to see if Figo / aspire would make more sense. Biggest issue for me is whether these cars scrape their belly on long speed breakers/ or ramps ?

Figo and Aspire do scrape their belly on long speed breakers/ ramps. However, it is not as bad as the earlier Honda City. With full load in a Figo/Aspire, be careful with badly designed speed breakers. Go slow and sideways over them. Normal speed breakers should not be such a challenge. Ecosport is better built than the Figo Twins. Figo's size is the USP for city drives and more power to weight ratio (TDCI only)

I have taken my 2019 Figo TDCi (facelift) from Pune to Khardung-La and back. It only scraped once on the way to Leh from Srinagar in a crater formed by melting snow at Zoji-la. I was careful on the way back so didnt scrape it then.

I guess you should be OK with what Pune has to offer us lol:

Edit: Before buying the Figo, I had a lot of practise on how to avoid scraping the underbelly of my father's Honda Civic so that has helped too.
