Hi, I was planning to fix reverse parking sensors on my Figo (hatch) and the dealer claimed that the official accessory doesn't come with any graphical display and only with audio alerts. So is this another accessory by Ford ? Also, could you share the price of this one..

Here is the pic-
Ford Aspire : Official Review-img_20160630_101138.jpg

When the Aspire was launched, initially the reverse parking sensors offered were 'Audio alerts' only, without any visual cues. This drew flak from many prospective owners and when I bought the car in Dec 2015,Ford had started offering the Autocop PP 9000 with both audio and visual assists. It was priced around INR 4,000 at that time and I bought it for INR 3,000 as a result of a goodwill gesture from my SA and Ford.

Thank you. What I'm specifically looking for is the actual wiring on the inside of the taillight assembly.

Well I am surprised here. I got my Aspire 1.2 in May and the dealer informed me that Reverse Sensors are only available with audio alerts.

The dealer is Talera Ford Nigdi, Pune. I paid 2500 for this basic sensor and now feel cheated that other option was not provided even when I gave my preference for the sensor with distance indicator :-(

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

I have just bought a new Aspire and got parking sensors installed on the car. The sensors have only audio alerts. I just checked with my dealer and got confirmation that no sensors available with display is approved.

I have the parking sensors with audio alert and it does the job well. Does the Autocop PP 9000 mirror have day-night adjustment option?

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

I have the Ford accessory (on Nov-15 Aspire) that's got ~3.5 inch display along with the audio support (beeps) in IVRM. Quite handy & saves neck pain... already given up old techniques for reversing.

The cost was Rs.13k if I remember correctly.

Ford missed the bus at launch to equip both cars with touchscreen infotainment system at a time when though compact sedans selling at that time did not have touchscreen infotainment systems however most hatchbacks had started making it a norm. As of today Hyundai Xcent (Anniversary Edition) and some version of Honda Amaze have being upgraded to touchscreen.

Ford is targeting year 2018 to introduce touchscreen infotainment in both Figo and Figo Aspire, would the customers really bother to come back to these cars just because a new gadget has being added? If the facelift version does not come with significant changes they are out of the game in both hatchback and compact sedan segment for sure. I also do not see any sales revival happening despite the whole 200 crore marketing blitz.

I would buy the system if priced well and if it is compatible with my car. (That is if I don't have it already by then.)

There has been an overall increase in the sales of car in June. As per reports, Ford India sold 9469 cars in June compared to 5780 in May. Ford marketing seemed to work. Eagerly awaiting the TBHP sales analysis for more details.

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Thought of changing the interior lights to LEDs and realised that the bulbs are non-standard, probably proprietary.

Anyone know if LEDs are available for this type of bulb?

The black part is just a holder. The bulb is regular W5W or T10, just pull it out of the holder.

Look who looks stupid now.

Ford Aspire : Official Review-20160703_193341.jpg

The bulb reads TOSHIBA 12V6WX and 5 X at the side.

Can I order the T10 bulb for it?

Re: Ford Aspire : Official Review

Used Abro DI-502 Diesel Injector Cleaner (354 ml) on a 550 KM drive to and fro Jaipur. The mileage which was stuck to around 19 for a while went up to 20.5 during the journey and then to 21.7 on another subsequent highway trip (all display based). Not sure if the thing actually worked but I do notice engine smoothness. Some people on Amazon are saying this is snake oil though :-) Has anyone else used engine treatments for their Aspires/Figos? Do you recommend them? Amazon has given it 4 stars basis 84 reviews.

Drove in the range of 100-120 KMPH/ 4 people on board/no luggage/100% AC some 60-80 Kms of bumper to bumper traffic.
