Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

I have a problem with water seepage into the stepney well. I noticed this a few days ago when i found the rear carpet wet. Upon inspecting i found this

Ford Figo : Official Review-img_0755.jpg

It so happened that a day prior to this, Mumbai faced heavy rains, though i didn't have to drive through water logged areas, there were patches where water could have been 4-6 inches deep. I probably thought it could be the issue. Consulted the dealership at Satyam Ford, Thane but there was nothing unusual noticed. I observe now that this has re-occurred under usual rain conditions. There are traces of water probably due to water splash from the rear wheel ending up in the stepney well.

I have written to ford about this and awaiting their response.
Notice this unusual sealing which i suspect could be the reason.

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Spotted this Figo facelift at a Pune dealership. These cars had come for ARAI testing / certification. Only the headlights and bumper appear to be different. The rest of the car and even the interiors looked the same.

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

To all the Figo/Aspire diesel owners, what is the actual fuel tank capacity of the car? From what I know it is 40L. Today, I filled my Figo up until auto-cut and it gulped 40.25L of fuel. The MID was showing the DTE as zero. So is the rated fuel tank capacity independent of the reserve fuel?

The grill and alloys look different too. Might be a midlife facelift since it's been a couple of years after the launch.
I also read somewhere (in my Google feed) that the 1.5 L dragon petrol might trickle down to Figo and Aspire as well. Is Ford introducing that as well along with this facelift?

The grill is the one used on the Figo S. Alloys were a different design and black but you can't be too sure of the final design.

The Figo & Aspire will get a 1.2 version of the Dragon petrol later on so they they are still classified as small cars. Not sure when though!

The petrol has 42 litres and the diesel 40 litres. The 0.25 extra is negligible and could also be attributed to the fueling station being a bit creative.

But there should have been some fuel in the tank even though the DTE was 0. So how could the car take up more than 40L of fuel? Basically, I want to know if the rated fuel capacity is inclusive of the reserve fuel or not. If it is inclusive, then I really wonder how my car took 40L of fuel. It means that when the DTE shows 0, you have negligible fuel left. I always thought that the DTE indicator of a car shows the range of the car excluding the distance you can cover on the reserve fuel.

DTE is what it means - Distance To Empty. There is no other reserve fuel in cars as far as I know. So your tank probably had no fuel left in it when you tanked up.

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

My Figo diesel is scheduled for the 3rd service (20k kms).

2nd service bill was Aprox 1800/- (Incl. of taxes). This was with oil, filter change etc but the labour was free & pre GST.

Anyone here who recently took their Figo/Aspire diesel for the 3rd service ? If yes please share the details.

Thanks

Though it's not recent. These details might help you to brace yourself for your Figo's 3rd service

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Hi

30000km update:

1. costed me 6595.00 for works such as engine oil change, engine oil filter change, gasket drain plug change, fuel filter change, wheel alignment and balancing, AC filter change and wash fluid pouch plus the service charge. The ford app and their website say the cost was different, but I am OK though.

2. Went to the Lingaragapuram Metro Ford- used to go to the St.Marks Road one. Was told that the service feedback from customers in that particular service station was low hence Ford suggested it to be closed, not sure how true, but if it is might not be a good call because, the Lingarajapuram service station is small and way too crowded. I had to wait for 2 weeks for an appointment.

3. Service itself went alright but I had a couple of problems which annoyed me after service. First being a buzzing noise right between steering and the music system. Was told by a 'specialist' that this is normal and is caused by IAT sensor. On probing, he did mention is happens in all cars and infact showed me a couple of ecosport. Not convinced I asked him raise a complaint to Ford, feedback expected this week. Another issue was with car pulling towards left, if steering left untouched, not drastically but very noticeably. Got that to a certain extent corrected, all they did was try changing tyres and it was OK after a test ride. Not happy but will do for now.

3. As most of aspire, ecosport, figo owners I too got the 'molten eye' on my headlights, its gone for Ford Warranty claim, hopefully I will get it replaced in a week's time- they do not have the spare parts it seems hence the delay.

Can I ask you guys if you have heard that 'buzzing' noise when you tun on the car? It is heard even when engine and AC is off and persists when the engine is running and never stops?!

Thanks for reading.

I got my first paid service done recently at 19840 kms. Engine oil, oil filter, air filter and ac filters were changed. I also got wheel balancing and alignment done. My LHS ORVM back cover had a huge scratch so got that painted. The SA informed me that a minor clunking noise could be heard when they tested the car over bad roads. I was not aware of any such noise as i mostly drive on good roads so went on a test drive with the SA. The noise although minor was clearly audible on pothole riddled roads while the car ran normally on well paved roads. Anyways, the service center wrongly diagnosed the sway bar bushing to be at fault which I had to pay for. The problem still persisted and after a few more hours hours of checking bushings, tie-rods and joints ultimately my LHS strut was found to be at fault and replaced under warranty. The service took 9 hours and set me back 6300 including alignment and around 400 for sway bar bushing and 500 for the ORVM painting.

Apart from Shell all other fuel stations fill more than capacity. I have seen that at almost all stations in Bangalore. Shell fills exactly (or less) than what the car shows as consumed. All others fill 10-15% more.

That's why I always fill from Shell.

Try it next time and share your experience

I too hear this faint buzz, but didn't care to report that to the service center since I felt any service center would try to pass it on saying that it is normal. Some people even go the extent of turning deaf to the sound and say that they don't hear anything. I thought that the noise could be coming from the music system (even when it is off).
