Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Hello Team,

Can someone tell me how do I get the EGR and DPF cleaned for my 2016 Figo 1.5 Tdci.

Is the diesel filter offered by Ford for 1350/- the equivalent to being the DPF cleaned?

Thank you,
Stay Safe

2016 model will be a BS4 version and will not have a DPF as part of the exhaust system.
As for the EGR, if the engine has crossed or nearing a lakh kms, then it is would make sense cleaning it or if you have an issue with the normal running of the engine.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the engine is at 1.3L kms. Engine is feeling clogged.
Jerks sometimes at constant throttle.

Could you tell me how to do it? I'm unable to trust any garage because they have no prior experience of doing it on this engine.

Thanks

The engine feeling clogged may be because of the clogged internals and intake system, with soot from the EGR and oil from the PCV.
Cleaning the EGR may not help neccesarily.

If you can get a good mechanic, he can clean the head and intake system which should help.

Cleaning the EGR is not an easy DiY

You might also want to get the MAF sensor cleaned.
That could be one of the reasons for the jerky nature.
Cleaning this sensor is a pretty easy job as its easy to access. (Its located on the air filter box where the hose to the turbo starts.)

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Hello e everyone! Today I made a sad discovery, my head lamp reflectors on my Ford Figo 1.5 TDci has started showing burn marks. Probably this has been caused when for a short duration i had made the mistake of installing white led lights, although shortly after which I reverted back to OEMs, but it seems the damage has been done.
Now that I have to get the reflectors or the whole unit replaced, I want to do something that I always wanted to do. I want to install the headlights from the new figo that is currently being sold. The blacked out, graphite backed as they call it, headlights. If one can recall these were the same ones which came with the Figo S.
Now in plain sight the shape of the two seems same, but the question arises, will it be compatible? Has anyone tried to do this here?
Some help regarding this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think there should be an issue of non compatibility. As you said in plain sight they are just the same. The blacked out ones are just like cosmetic changes unless I am missing something unique in it. Try to get in touch with the Service Center and they shall be able to confirm.

Fingers crossed. Lets see. I’ll get in touch with the FASS tomorrow first thing in the morning.

Trust me, it would have happened even if you hadn't installed the LEDs.

The new headlight assembly is compatible, but do note one important point. If your car is under warranty, you can claim a warranty replacement. They will install only the original type of headlights. If you insist for the new type, you probably can get it under warranty on payment of the cost difference, but you cannot claim warranty replacement for the same in future.

I just went through a few old posts regarding this issue and it seems that this is an inherent problem for the figo line. Its good to learn from you that the new ‘blacked out’ headlights are compatible. I will try to get them installed today itself. Regarding warranty, my figo is more than 5 years old
Dont care abt warranty anymore!

Exactly what i have in mind as upgrades for my Figo Diesel. :/I had upgraded the alloy on delivery itself. However, the grill and headlight seemed to be difficult to procure until now. Hoping that i can get these parts now for much less rate in open market.

Overall, sportz edition looks good. They should've upgraded to touch screen as well. (Almost every one else in the segment does.)

Hi there! Just bumped into your post while digging for some info. Dis you have any luck procuring the black honeycomb grill from the figo S stable? I always wanted to replace the grills with those on my figo TDCi

Hi Shourya,
Yes, the honey comb grill is available at Ford service centers. IIRC, costed me ~1500 rs including labour, couple of years back.

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Update! Have successfully changed the headlamp assembly. Installed the figo S variant one’s. Super easy job, no hassle at all. With a lot of help from bhpian ABHI_1512. Here are the pics.

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

I upgraded my lights and horns in my Figo 1.5D today.

The lights were upgraded from Hella 500s to Rallye 4000s. They required fresh clamps.

Horns - I was initally running Bosch Europa and Hella Supertones(Red grills) with the stock Minda HN09. I swapped out the HN09s for the Roots Megasonics.

I am interested to know the actual use case of so many of these lights. I am wondering if you are going to use these on a normal road. Those LEDs on both corners are really going to poke quite a few eyes for sure.
