Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Have done 20,200 kms till now.

Just love the explosive performance and pin-sharp handling and braking. Driven sanely, in winters, it does return 13-17 kmpl in varied conditions.

No issues with the spare parts and service, done 3 services already. Few cosmetic areas of the car do suffer from poor QC issues (got them rectified at GT Tunerz with better materials and techniques).

Complete ownership report with all mods, ups and downs, list of warranty claims to be up this summer.

Can the garage be made more exciting and practical with fun? Suggestions welcome.

Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Bumping up an old thread. Is Abarth Punto still available in Bengaluru and/or Delhi NCR ?

I am looking for a manual hot hatch. Not sure what to buy.

Earlier I was considering Skoda Rapid but then it is supposed to be replaced by a newer engine.

Also torn between hot hatch and FTD sedan.

No, it's not available.

If you want to pick the TDI engine, the time is right now. Or probably a pre worshipped Jetta is a good option if you can find a not so old one.

Also torn between hot hatch and FTD sedan.

There is hardly any hot hatch now except for warmer ones like JTP twins, GT TSI which are on the verge of extinction soon.

May I ask what exactly have you got done for fixing such issues. Asking for the benefit of OCD Abarth owners like me.

Guys, I urgently need front brake pads for my Abarth. Can any one guide me where to source it locally? Is it true that abarth brakepads are different as compared to normal Linea T Jets or Punto?

Someone in Bangalore can help me.

It should be the same as the Fiat Linea T Jet. The Fiat Punto has a disc and drum set up.

Bosch should have compatible parts, or, you could try Brembo, though the experience I had with Brembo was not as good as stock brakes.

Raghavendra Bosch Car Repair and Garage, Bangalore should be able to help you out. Its the same as shown on Google maps as Bosch Car Service, Hoodi.

Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Clocked 5000 kms so far.

I take Abarth only for highway runs and that's where the car really shines.

Got an electric exhaust cut-out valve installed for the convenience of muting the sound when not required.

Intercooler upgrade, decat and remap are on the cards.

Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Punto Owners preferably in Mangalore or Bangalore, how hard is it to get parts for the car now? Are the ASCs still standing or do you get it serviced at FNG?

ASC is there but I feel the service charges are on the higher side. Common parts are available always. Probably will shift to an FNG soon.

Please check with FASS if the part number is 77364549. If so, you can get it from either 99rpm or boodmo.

The part number is 0280750137 Bosch make. Fass quoted me a whopping Rs 75000. Iam planning to source it from outside.

Please check the part number again. The one you've posted is of intake manifold not throttle body.

Regarding price, if you're after OEM throttle body, the price is more or less same everywhere.
