Congratulations Ashok. Red Baleno especially Alpha variant looks good. What is the on-road price in Chennai and what was the waiting period ?

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Congrats on the new ride .
Looks good. Which Nexa did you roll this out form.
We should meet with your Alpha and my Zeta CVT, both less than a month old.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Was pleasantly surprised a few minutes back when I saw this sitting on my desk.
Maruti Baleno : Official Review-webp.netcompressimage.jpg

Balenos getting delivered inside the premises of Hotel Novotel, Ahmedabad. I am glad that NEXA made no compromise on the premium experience part & made necessary arrangements to accommodate huge amount of deliveries on the auspicious day of Dhanteras.

I was really disappointed with the facility where my Brezza was delivered by Kiran Motors in April of the last the year. It was a fenced field near their stockyard with a small construction for the office where all the paperwork was done. The office was too small & the feel was no better than an old government office from inside. Also, it had no parking facility for outside cars so we had to park our Jetta on the side of the road & walk a few hundred meters
It was a huge shock for me the way 1 million+ rupees cars were delivered to the customers. Anyway, glad to see more premium treatment to NEXA customers.

Apologies for the moderate image quality, it was captured from my OnePlus3 from 8th floor through not so clean glass.

Congratulations petrolhead_chn.

Baleno is looking awesome in this color. Consider using Collinite insulator wax after first service and repeat it every 6 months. Will protect & maintain paint's gloss.

Enjoy Diwali festival with your new car.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

My wife's Baleno Alpha CVT in Urban Blue...delivered a couple of days ago.

+ves:

1. The ride is plush and silent.
2. Fantastic Osram Bixenons and DRL. Great visibility + looks
3. Loaded with features!
4. Surprisingly nice audio, better than my Polo RCD 330G+
5. CVT is decent for normal driving! And I got almost 40% more mileage than the Polo in the same daily driving route. (10.5 vs 14.5 kmpl as per MID)
6. Wide and spacious.

-ves:

1. The plastics, compared to my Polo GT TSI are poorer - thinner and scratch prone - dashboard, door cards.
2. The stalks to adjust MID settings - no words to describe them!
3. No dynamic guidelines in the reverse camera
4. Sad looking alloys

A few pics post putting on an exhausting detailing session

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

This post is just for the information for the forum members, on the quality of Baleno. The door panels are very susceptible to dents/damages.

Last weekend, had to head out of Bangalore to a relative's place (a town which is about 150 km away from Bangalore) and park the car on the street overnight. Next morning, I was in shock to my car in this state. I suspect the damage was done by few buffaloes trying to rub their forehead against my car, though no one has seen them doing so. Even with their relatively smaller horns, they have caused the damage to this extent. Right from the headlights till the hatch, there are dents and loss of paint. Right front door panel almost needs replacement. Planning to claim insurance, though not sure if the insurance guys oblige.

Parts damaged:
Front bumper - deep dent and minimal paint erosion
Front Right door panel - less said, better. 10-15 dents, paint erosion
Rear bumper - 5-8 scratches with paint erosion
Hatch door - 3-4 scratches with paint erosion.
Rear door panel - very light scratches without any paint loss.

Holy buffalo...it pains to see that sort of damage on any car autospeaker

Though your speculations are probably correct, this almost looks like some sort of vandalism to me.
Was your car the only one on the road that night, which was like a scratch post to the passing herd, or could there be something more to this than what meets the eye??

Really sorry to see this done to your car. This might be a case of buffaloes or human vandalism IMO.

Either way, one thing I'd like to slightly differ upon is the fact that I can't take this as a testimony to quality. Any other car would have been in the same state after being subjected to vandalism.

I can rule out human vandalism in my case. I visit this town often and I park the vehicle in this very spot every time. Also, any act of vandalism would have come to our attention without fail, even during the night time.

Can't agree more on anything else. I only intend to warn the fellow Baleno owners

Planning to go to MASS over the weekend and claim insurance on this. Not sure if the insurance guys would heed to my request. Any suggestions are welcome in this regard.

Very sad to see such a damage, are you sure about buffaloes? Generally cattle rubs body against some hard surface like tree trunks when it gets itchy, why would it rub against shiny, smooth and perhaps cold surface like a car?
