Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Appreciate if someone could help me with the below details regarding Baleno 1.2 Petrol Manual:

1. What would be the optimal rpm range and speed for each gears in terms of better FE?

2. And what would be the sweet spot (RPM range) in terms of linear acceleration and power?

A copy of Torque Power Curve for Baleno 1.2 Petrol Manual is also well appreciated. I tried searching but could not find any.

Did anyone had this observation. And mine is a manual transmission.
Surprising. I too observe a similar phenomenon with my 2015 Baleno but its a diesel though. At around 1800 rpm I can sense a momentary "loss" of power before the car gets going again and the turbo spools. I asked about it during my first service and then started to live with it.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

ODO in my Zeta CVT currently stands at 32K.

The brakes were juddering at slow speeds too. So, took the car to MSM last weekend and got the front Disks and Pads replaced.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Sorry for this noob question, but i am not able to figure out. In the ICE, touch screen display any setting is available to make music play from the next folder when current folder is completed. At the moment once a folder is finished, nothing happens. It just stops.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

I have been encountering a peculiar problem with my car. The date in the MID has been acting weird. One morning I noticed that it failed to change to the current date from the previous. Yesterday I noticed that it already read 27th February.

I change the date the first time it occurred. Have any of you faced this issue?

No there is no setting, at least to my knowledge, for playing local music I use power -amp, even in Power Amp there is no setting.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Hi, has anyone upgraded tyres in the Alpha variant? My stock Apollos are starting to become a bit noisy and I'm itching for an upgrade. I'm only looking at MRF Perfinza (first choice) or Michelin 4ST or 3ST (Not Energy XM2).

Very poor options in 195/55 R16s - plenty in 205/55 R16s. Has anyone tried the latter size? Does the car become too sluggish? (Petrol)

I have upgraded the stock 195/55 R16 Alnac's to 205/55 R16 Conti MC5 in my Zeta CVT.

Please check the previous page for the pics.

I don't find the drive sluggish in my CVT.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Got bored of the gun metal finish of the RS front grill on my Zeta CVT.

So, got it painted in 'Piano Black'.

Mods in Pipeline:

a) Paint the Chrome boot lid spoiler in Piano Black
b) Wrap the door handles

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

I am having Baleno Alpha (Dec 2018) with just 2.5k km in odo in 2 months. I have observed few sounds/doubts and I am listing it down:

1. A swish sound from the front side is observed when the accelerator is pressed. The moment it is depressed the sound disappears.

2. Sounds are observed from rear when (sound are similiar to those caused by spring)
(a). A person egress/ingress.
(b). When the handbrake is released while the car in a slope.

3. Hissing noise observed while braking in slow speeds.

4. And I am having a strange feeling like something is holding my car while in acceleration, like if the brakes are sticking to the wheels during acceleration.

It would be great if someone could help me with some inputs.

Open the bonnet and try to find the area from which the sound is coming. Check if it a loose engine cover.

Clean the rear brake drums.

Clean the rotor and brake pads in front.

The above steps may solve this.

I don't find the drive sluggish in my CVT.

Got a chance to experience the MC5s on a 350km trip to Tirumala during the weekend.

Here's my comparison with stock Apollo Alnac 4G.

1. Excellent ride comfort, Grip.

2. Tyre noise is far better than Apollo. But not in the league of Michelins.

3. Braking and high speed stability is miles ahead of the Apollos.

4. Best Steering feel

Also, I got the worst mileage during this trip. 12.5 km/l.

Thanks to abundant usage of 'S' mode between Alipiri and Tirumala ghat road.

Adding a customary snap taken at Ganesh temple on Tirumala Ghat Road.
