It has now been 5 months with my Baleno Zeta 1.2 Petrol & experience has been mixed. Fantastic engine & drive-ability coupled with poor contruct resulting in some random dents in the body.
We have been using it as the run around errand car & never missed any of the features of the higher specs Alpha other than the rear view camera & like any penny pinching middle-class gloat on our decision to buy the Zeta instead of the overpriced Alpha & still get all the features. Further the official Nexa accessory only offers reverse camera kit which does not integrate with the Baleno headset & is standalone and hence had not gone for it. The various other market offerings need to cut, splice, drill which anyway I did not want to go for to avoid warranty issues later/spoil the OEM looks.
While browsing on Amazon one day, I came across a reverse camera kit for Baleno zeta which promised plug & play , integration with the OEM headset display; after a quick chat with the seller that it was indeed full plug & play ordered it. After a few days it was delivered & the seller Autospark had a tie up with the one local installer who came over on next sunday & installed it in an hours time.
The Good Part
1. Seller Autospark is extremely responsive & available on whatsapp. Even has a DIY video for the installation
2. The local installer was competent & knew the subject well
3. It is true plug & play and no splicing is required whatsover
4. Reverse Camera display is integrated into the headset
5. The wires, coupler etc. provided is of good quality
The Not So Good Part of It
1. Camera quality is not HD, infact the resolution is poor. It is a pretty ordinary camera.
2. The grid guidelines do not work & are for display only
3. The camera display is highly inaccurate i.e. shows the object is very close when in fact you have a good 2 /3 feet space remaining.

Contacted the seller Autospark for the above problem & he said the they are trying to source the original camera, which might take a month but will have better HD resolution, working guidelines & be more accurate. ONly the camera will need to be replaced while everthing else remains the same. Let me wait & see when it happens.
Now some pics of the kit, installation as well as the display & inaccurate distance issue.

In hindsight should have gone for the Alpha model & got all these features as OEM

<Standard Disclaimer - I am not affiliated with the seller in any way & bought the kit with my own money for my personal use>

A nice install. Many will follow I think. Was it easy enough for a DIY?

Did you check for the OEM camera part on Boodmo or MASC? You might have got the original one. Check still if the camera is available on Boodmo. You can try to replace this one with the original spare part perhaps.

This tag can't be used as Fastags. You will have to purchase a separate one for Fastag application.
Guys, the FASTag that came with the new vehicles can indeed be used. The RFID Ashis89 is talking about is something else.

@Bluevolt, I am trying to attach the step-by-step guide to activating the FASTag. I got mine activated.

Yes, it is not too difficult to install & definitely a DIY, guided by the Youtube videos. I was scared to do DIY since the Baleno is new & owned by my wife The tricky part is opening the cover below the headset to unbolt it & take it out.

checked Boodmo, it does not have the Baleno reverse camera yet. Nexa feigns ignorance & claims there is no OEM camera available in the spare accessory list.

Goodness. Someone needs to inform them its a reversing camera for a car, not a landing camera for the Vikarm!

Priced better I'll say. See what Hyundai charges:

Top: Maruti part; Bottom: Hyundai part
Maruti Baleno : Official Review-screenshot_20191213143659.jpg

I think the 30K that Hyundai charges has the tailgate release button too included as a set if I have understood the diagram on Boodmo correctly.

OEM cameras dont compare to the aftermarket stuff available. Hence its natural for them to be expensive. Same is the case with any OEM part like the head unit, parking sensors and so on which will cost a fraction of the amount in the aftermarket. Irrespective of the manufacturer, it will be expensive than the Chinese stuff we get outside. Hence, your comparison is not so valid.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

What is the best after market reverse camera that I can get installed in my Baleno Sigma?

I have installed the chrome spoiler in my car (the long chrome strip below rear windshield). I know it can house the camera, but can an after market camera be installed in that housing?

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Hey guys! I had a query I hope TBHP-ians will be able to solve. My 2016 Baleno Petrol Alpha has crossed 75000 KMs. and thanks to my heavy usage the suspension is slowly giving up. I was wondering if there are any reliable aftermarket suspension solutions which are better than what Maruti provides. Kindly point me in the right direction.

I surely hope with all the amazing DIY experts and Modification experts present on Team-BHP it should not be too hard. Finger crossed.

Not sure if I am getting it right, this is the tag that I have in my car.

Maruti Baleno : Official Review-20191216_103613.jpg

I do not have any SMS/Mail regarding the wallet ID etc.

There is no any other tag. What could be wrong then? Did I missed getting fastag from my dealer when I bought my car?

How to confirm if my car was equipped with FasTag?

This is not FASTTAG, FASTTAG will have FASTTAG written over it clearly.
This is RFID Tag and it cannot be charged in any way to pay toll.
I assume this is used to passively track our vehicle.

Dealers started giving FASTTAG only in recent times, I guess 2 years ago.
It was made mandatory with new cars, I assume your car is older than that.

This RFID tag has nothing to do with Fasttag and is a separate RFID for tracking your vehicle.

You need to purchase the Fasttag sticker separately from any bank/ Paytm etc and when you do so, you will get the relevant activation emails through which you can activate and recharge the Fasttag. Fasttag will clearly bear its name on it, and usually the issuer bank's name as well. For instance, mine has Fasttag and Axis Bank clearly mentioned on the sticker.

This is the Fastag that you need to get from any bank or PayTm. I have the one issued by ICICI Bank.

I bought my car in Sep 2017. IIRC, in the price-list pamphlet fast tag was mentioned for Rs. 500. Unable to recall if I asked them to exclude it or didn't receive it.

Or please correct me if I am wrong and FASTag was mandated post Sep 2017.
