I guess 24” 20” should also work.
We measured the ones on there - they were both short of 24+20", so yes, thanks - will probably work.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Varicor 400 : Official Review

Anyone have any recommendations for performance road tires for the Storme? I guess since mine's a rear-wheel drive and I'm driving it in "performance" mode in the city mostly and planning to do some long-distance highway runs now, would like to replace the worn-out tires on the monster...

I thought all our Stormes were rear wheel drive?

Two Dicor friends shifted to Geolanders from.the stock Bridgestones. And they seem to be quite happy. I'm a Bridgestone guy myself.

Cheers, Doc

Didn't they have a 4x4 option?

I didn't go for another Storme with 4x4 as Tata did not offer an automatic transmission, so bought a Fortuner 4x4 AT.

Yes they did. But till you engage 4x4, it's a normal rear wheel drive. Just like the 4x2.

Cheers, Doc

Well, on this subject - did the 4x4 have a limited slip differential?

I'm not too happy with the 4x2 setup...

I'm wondering if one can retrofit the LSD to the 4x2...

You need a tow hitch for your Storme, Sadly its not available in india.
Dear Jeepster,
Picking up a rather old post of yours as google returned this post as the only result to my search for "can I install a Flange type towbar on Safari Storme"

Could I ask you if you have any added information on whether we can get a flange type towbar (13-pin type) installed somewhere in India on a Safari Storme. From my search online it also seems that towbars are model specific and hence not something that I could carry from another country unless it is confirmed that it will fit on the Storme.

I really need to install a flange type towbar as have a few accessories that I plan to use on the Storme and hence the search.

Appreciate inputs from other members as well, if any available.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
M

Did you pursue this further by any chance ? I am not happy either. Got stuck on multiple occasions where just one wheel was in muck. Sight of a Safari getting stuck in what looks like a normal rural road was funny.

Need to install reverse camera for my Strome, I was looking for a setup where the screen is in the rear view mirror. Wanted to know if anyone has installed it on their Storme.

I would not suggest you to do that. The LSD is not of much use off-road. I've tried it on my 4x4 storme. You can even find Anshuman Bishnoi's video on youtube which gives a demo of the same. Get a locker if you can, but I don't know if the rear drive shafts are strong enough to take the increased torque when you put in a locker.

Behind the black portion of the rear bumper is a metal bar between the plastic of the bumper and the spare wheel.

In the Army GS800 this is slightly different in order to accomodate a towing hitch. It also has a few supports from the side.

Now IDK if TASC will let us order army parts for private cars, but some owners have done that on this thread earlier using the good relation they've had with their ASC.

An army storme often crosses paths with me so I keep finding differences

It's the best way to get a reliable towing setup. The storme has some indicators and fuses designated for the towing setup in other countries too. An easy retrofit, with the appropriate research.
