Yes or probably inspired by their brand ambassador Lionel Messi whose son's name is Thiago. Similar.

Coincidentally though, I've drive the then Zica & own a Nano GenX. From my experience, Nano has SUVish tall
stance seating arrangement wherein you overlook the road. It's like sitting on the car, rather than in the car.
Contradictorily, Zica has a more natural seating position where-in you sit inside the car. Not much of the bonnet
remains visible ahead of your & the seats hug you very well.

If your concern is more about the ingress & egress for the elderly, it won't be as seamless as the Nano wherein
you literally walk-in to the car but it won't be as bad as some low laying ones such as Verna.

re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Very detailed review and covered all aspects of this car. For a Tata vehicle, Tiago looks uber. Hope this car is a success in the market and brings in volume for Tata. I, for one, have always been a supporter of Indian manufacturers. Somehow Mahindra won and Tata trailed in the car market (except for the taxi segment). Wish this car changes the fortune for Tata.

re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

We visited Malik cars in Hyderabad and saw the Tiago in flesh. As soon as she sat in the drivers seat, she finalized that she is going to buy it. After I sat on the driver seat I felt, it is perfect and it hugs you nicely with good under thigh support too. Rear to be practical can fit 2 adults but not 3 with medium built. Overall the car looks fresh from TATA.

Few things which could have been added to top end

Projector Head lamps, DRL's as these are the new catchy trend of Indians & my wife wanted them too

Instrument cluster with few added MID displays

The Tata kite 5 as seen in the Geneva auto show. Looks quite handsome from the rear doesn't it.

This one is a neat and top class beauty.

I wish these accessories come as stock for a cross version of the beautiful TIAGO.

Its high time Mahindra and Maruti learn from what TATA is doing.

Though the earlier has not come up recently with anything that looks good, especially Mahindra (except for the XUV5OO) Tata has been trying hard and has made their offerings with a new standard.

The TIAGo is a cute name itself and I am looking at its launch, while this blue cross version like car on the Geneva motor show has really showed the level Tata has come up to.

Can't tell you how eager I am to go!
Family commitments means I am packed all weekend.

But Sunday seems like a safe bet.
Shall whatsapp you.
Good plan.

I passed Concorde Motors, Prabhadevi yesterday and was saddened to see that there wasn't a single prospective customer inside the showroom. On the other hand, whenever there's a brand new car displayed at Honda, Hyundai, Maruti or even Volkswagen, the showrooms are filled with buyers way after the showroom closing time. I hope this initial response isn't an indication to the car's sales in the country.

I think Tata Motors' marketing department has to take a large portion of the blame here. The media drives were held last year, at the beginning of December or something like that. It's about three months now and still the car hasn't been launched. No one knows the price range or the feature spread across variants even now. No "controlled leaks", no "li'l birdies", nothing of the kind.

I don't know if this is because their head of marketing (Ms. Delna Avari) has quit and her replacement hasn't yet taken over, or not. Tata themselves have let the initial buzz around the car (at the time of media drives) die out completely.

1096 units of the Tiago were sent out to the dealers in February. I don't know what they're still waiting for. Are they waiting for Señor Lionel Messi to fly down to India to launch the car? Or are they waiting for Herr Günter Butschek to take over as CEO? No idea, but the car-buying public doesn't quite care about who is present on stage at the car's launch.

Vehicles whose media drives were held after that of the Zica/Tiago have been launched, and have started moving out of the showrooms and into customer homes. Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza is waiting in line next, and it's going to make a big splash, going by the response and interest generated so far.

In Messi's footballing language, Tata's marketing department has scored an own-goal. Unless the Tiago's price is absolutely mouth-watering (at least to begin with), it's going to be very difficult to create a buzz around the car again.

The story behind the name change:
Quote:
Premanand R Shenoy is nothing short of a celebrity for Tata Motors these days. After all, it was he, a dealer for the company in Bengaluru, who suggested that Tata crowd-source the name for its soon-to-be-launched hatchback.
