Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Dear BHPians,

While everything was fine till day before yesterday, a new niggle has popped up.

On engaging reverse gear, reverse lights don't turn on !! No issue with movement, it reverses as usual, but the lights don't lit up and every time reverse gear is engaged a beep and R used to display in MID. That too has gone now.

Anyone faced the same ?

I faced the same issue. It's not a big deal. The cause was a malfunctioning reverse gear switch. It was replaced for free under extended warranty. No further issues since.

It's a common issue. I faced the same in my second year and reverse switch was replaced under warranty. It's a 10 min job.

Looks like a limited edition. Wonder what are the additional features or if it's just a paint job.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

If it is an upgrade over XT, there can be more changes in addition to touchscreen. Looked at the video - I can see more changes over XT. Sharing screenshots below.

Looks like they picked it from old parts bin. It is very similar to what 1st gen XZ / Zest XT had.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

I recently managed to convince my father to dump is ~8 year old Alto K10 for a new Tiago.
Got the XT variant, as it checks all the minimum check-boxes. Close to 6.2L on road.
I have to say, I am seriously impressed by the build quality. The doors, the dash and console, the seats and everything. It is just such a well built car!
That satisfactory thump while closing the doors is just on point.
The seating is decent for tall folks as well. The boot is fairly spacious.
The engine is quite a bit clunky at low revs and speeds, but smooths out fairly well as you climb along. At 80-90kmph highway cruising speeds, it's a genuinely nice place to be! Not sure about earlier generations of the car, but I found NVH pretty sorted.
The suspension gets along with the road pretty well.
We had some on and off issues with the A/C not cooling at times, but apart from that the experience is fantastic.
The car was recently called for some "software update" and also got the first servicing done.
All in all, an amazing purchase for 6 lakh on road.
Here's the handsome red thing:

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Took delivery of my first car yesterday (Tiago XZ+ Blue). It's beauty.

1: I can't PUC in the kit, is it not required for a new car?
2: SA insisted me to not buy any AMC or P2P plan. He said it is not worth it as first 3 services are free and part cost is also minimal during initial services.
3: When asked about extended warranty, he did not give me any details and told me it can be bought any time before end of 2 years warranty.
4: Battery and music system warranty cards are also missing from the kit

There isn't one; they say PUC isn't required for the first year after purchase of a new car.

Depends; these plans cover consumables (wipers, oil, brake pads etc.) if I'm not wrong so if you anticipate high running, it may be beneficial. But yes, I didn't opt for it either because it didn't make sense financially.

But the cost increases; the EW is cheapest within the first three months or so (varies from manufacturer). It's best to get it at the soonest.

I have a leaflet for the Battery warranty but none for the music system (just the manual). Just for the Battery warranty booklet.

Re: Tata Tiago : Official Review

Hi All
I have started experiencing the below issue in my 5 year old car recently

- The auto door lock does not engage over speed of 20KMs
- the speedometer needle shows Zero while the car is in 3rd-4th gear while cruising
- the gear change indiicator shows “F” which obviously means there is an issue
- The power steering loses all power and become either extremely hard or extremely light
- The seat belt warning beeps stop

The car has gone to the workshop twice for this issue and each time they tell me they have fixed some loose wires or run the laptop for updates however the issue crops up again in a couple of days

Is anyone else facing this? Attaching a picture of how it looks like Tata Tiago : Official Review-8862457cbf8a499aa18eecaebe48fde5.jpeg

Ask them to check vehicle speed sensor, also called VSS.

+1. Also - check if they did any BCM software flashing recently after which these issues started coming up. If yes - ask them to flash it again.

Ask them to check the entire wire harness set in the engine bay, for rat-bite damages.
