Yokohama Geolander AT-S, 265/60/R18, bought it offline. I believe 14K is the price in most shops, may be +/- 500.

At Amazon its showing at way low price, i.e. just 8250 INR per tyre.

What's the catch?

Looks genuine, MRF were cheaper by 1-3K offline as well. Possible that this might be an old stock and I believe installation cost is on you.

Installation cost is negligible, around 100-200Rs per tyre.
Can get it installed at any road side mechanic, thats not an issue.

Seller rating is quite good too, 4.8/5 based on 239 reviews.

The only confusion is its non-returnable deal. So once I get it, its on me if its good or bad. That makes me worried about it.

Does old stock can have any impact on quality or life? I am assuming it might be from 2018

The questions & answers section in that Amazon post has the answers for why it is so cheap - that is if we believe the authenticity of the answers since we cannot verify that.
The answers point out to it being 2017 manufactured tyres & these replies are from the sellers.

I follow the rule of changing my vehicle tyres & battery every 5 years irrespective of kilometers done since tyres age even when vehicle is stand still.
The tyres being sold have spent two years in storage and though they may appear new, they too are ageing.
I would not have bought these tyres.
Experts may be better able to answer.
Why don't you cross post this query on the Tyres thread too.

Probability of punctures, sidewall cuts, cracks are higher. You never know where and how these are stored. 2017 means these tyres are 3 years old, Tyre experts suggest to replace tyres every 5 years or so even though they have enough tread left.

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

AC Compressor Failure

It was on a regular highway drive when the AC stopped cooling all of sudden. This has happened before, but when the temperature was reduced the cooling became normal. I have complained regarding this issue twice, first time during the recent service for which they have done software update. However it happened again for which i have been to the workshop again the Forscan was done, no errors and software update done again. However now the AC stopped working altogether. I had to drive for 100 kilometres without AC. Reported the vehicle to workshop, they took 1 day to diagnose it as burned AC compressor clutch and decided to change entire unit under warranty. It took around 4 days for the part to arrive and one more day to change it. A total downtime of 1 week. After fitting the new compressor they didn't fill the gas completely, so when i went to take delivery of the vehicle and complained of not so effective cooling they did it again.

Overall a smooth experience except for the fact that none of the endeavour spares apart from brake pads and filters were never in stock with any workshop of hyderabad. Not sure about the situation in other cities. Because of this if there is part replacement needed (bumpers, mirrors, drive belts..etc), you need to forget the vehicle for a week atleast.

As of today the odometer stands at 1,13,000 kilometres, following parts were changed apart from regular filters -
* Brake pads twice (once at around 60k kilometres and again at 110k kilometres)
* Drive belt and pulley kit at 110k kilometres
* Ac compressor (part failure) under warranty
* Two doors repainted because of rust under warranty
* Rear propeller shaft (for that infamous sound due to sticker) under warranty
* CKP sensor (during initial days of ownership)

After reading about transmission failures and turbo failures i am getting paranoid . Hope if at all these fails in my endeavour, they will be replaced under warranty. But the one thing which i really appreciate is there is not a single rattle or extra sounds even after 110k kilometres (50% of this on not so well maintained roads)

PS: I am now starting to believe that when the AC used to stop cooling intermittently before (as experienced even by fellow bhpians) is an early sign of impending compressor failure.

What I understand is that the extended warranty is only upto 1 lakh kilometres. So how did you manage to change some parts after completing 1 lakh kilometres?

When i faced the CKP sensor issue (vehicle wouldnt start intermittently) in my initial ownership period, they have kept my endeavour for a total period of 15 days including two re-visits after I have been assured that the problem is being taken care. So I have asked them firmly to give me an extended warranty for 5 years or 1,70,000 kilometers (at that time there is no extended warranty scheme at all) as i intended to use my vehicle regularly and their standard 3years/100000 kilometres is not enough. I am thankful that they approved my request and given the same in writing in form of document as well in email.

PS: I still believe the warranty they are giving is too low and should be in line of what toyota is providing (7 years + and upto 2,00,000 kms)

It was expected as both 3.2 and 2.2 are old engines and hence too expensive to make and sell them as BS6 compliant

But the Sad news is that the 2.0 panther twin turbo isn't coming, only single turbo version is making way to India.

The 2.0 twin turbo would have been a hoot to drive with 218 bhp and 500 nm of torque

Hope they make an exclusive limited Platinum edition for India with the twin turbo.

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

The bi-turbo would have been awesome but I have a strong feeling the lighter weight of the 2.0L 4 cylinder vs the 3.2L 5 cylinder of around 20kgs and the extra 4 ratios will result in performance that will match the 3.2L.

Came across this video on YouTube comparing the 3.2 with 2L bi-turbo.
