Can confirm that the Superb is still on sale with dealers. No discounts though. It seems it's the remaining inventory of BS.1 vehicles.

Re: Skoda Superb : Official Review

Dear NCR Škoda owners, a special event is being organised by Škoda on April 30 (Sunday). Those interested to participate may inquire/sign up for the same.

Would be nice to meet fellow Škoda owners / passionate motorists at the event. Received the following invite over WA.

Is there a petrol which is E5/E10 + 95 octane like the car recommend? Don't know if this type of fuel is even sold in India

Re: Skoda Superb : Official Review

Hi Adi,

Still waiting on more details from the organisers, I think they would provide it once all registrations come in. The information they have shared so far is it’s Škoda Auto’s first and unique drive for Delhi-NCR. This being planned as a drive/rally on a pre set route for existing Škoda customers.

I’ll post more details as those land. Thanks, and look forward to meeting our fellow TeamBHP-ians at the event. 🙌🏽

XP95 and Power95 are quite easily available now across most cities in India. You will also find Speed97, Speed99 and 100 octane fuel in few places in metros.

Are any Blore dealerships running discounts on the Superb that anyone is aware of?

Re: Skoda Superb : Official Review

Hi All - Here's a quick update for pre-MY21 Superb owners. You can convert your wired Android Auto into wireless, using a dongle from Motorola - MA1.

Not available in India so picked it up during a US trip. Was a little apprehensive about the streaming quality. However, it works like a charm AND the streaming quality is identical as a wired connection. Also, connects within 30 sec of starting your car. Hope this helps.

Re: Skoda Superb : Official Review

I have a 2018 superb, just picked up a used one. 40k kms. L&k tdi. It's developed a rattle at the rear right door handle and somewhere behind the same head rest. One new rattle is the speedo cluster any solutions to these rattles ?
The usb in the front is also loose , seems like it's been abused, connection is not stable using Android auto. Hopefully it's an easy replacement.
Also would want to buy the umbrellas and the screen holder accessories , does the dealership sell those ?
Any other pointers about the ownership ?
I need brake replacement soon OEM or aftermarket ?
I am loving the back seat rode and the phenomenal economy figures I am getting .

Re: Skoda Superb : Official Review

Congratulations on getting the car Paras.
TDI's are usually a high mileage cars and it is not uncommon to have the previous owners really pushing the limits for it's power and mileage and hence the rattles. It might be worth while to take it to a service centre or specialist to open the door pads / consoles to check the cause of the rattles.
Speedo cluster rattles it's the first time I am hearing about it. Given the number of sensors in the car, would highly recommend that you get it checked asap to prevent any loose connections and issues while you're dirinv the car either in the city or on highways.

As for the OEM accessories, yes, they definitely do sell them at their service centre. You could get an estimate of the prices here from their website -

https://www.skoda-auto.co.in/_doc/dc...f-aa2d268f6844

As for any other pointers, take care of your car and it will take care of you is most applicable for the Superb's. It's a fantastic car to drive or be driven around. While the DQ200 gearbox has got the most bad reputation, any DSG automatic cars aught to be driven different and not keep the gearbox engaged while braking at signals or in stop and go traffic, instead move it to N and press the foot pedal brake. That is 1 key point.
Fuel, when I owned other Skoda Diesel cars, I've always put a Diesel additive once every 10 tank full of fuel. Keep the car fluids topped up. Given the number of sensors in the vehicle, you. might get alarmed when you see random lights lighting up in the dashboard. If you or your network have any OBD Scanner, it might help ease any worries with minor errors that might crop up. Make friends with the service centre people. They're great guys. The nicer we are to them, they reciprocate similarly, this is more so with the actual chief mechanics and the service centre manager / GM. The service advisor attrition / churn is way too much, so it doesn't really matter with them.
If possible, stick to 1 brand of Diesel as much as you can. Helps the engine learn and behave similarly.

EBC brake pads are really nice if you are considering anything outside of the OEM ones.

Safe driving!

Hello Adi_petrolhead
Yes, the event happened and I was able to participate, too. There was no surprise preview of Octavia vRS, unfortunately. However, they did have an event of a 100+ kilometers drive (each way) out of New Delhi and amongst other engagements, had set up a small off road track where participants could experience the full AWD / off roading potential of the 2023 Kodiaq! It was quite interesting how capably the cross over performed on the off road tracks.

I’ve been planning to jot down a short post on the event experience (hope to do soon since work and travel has been keeping me busy). Thanks and here’s a sneak peek.

I got the car at 38000kms. Driven for 7000 more so not a high mileage I would say especially for rattles.
I have upgraded from a Jetta on which I have put 4,00,000kms so I don't worry about the dsg reliability, most of my kms are on the highways, so I have had 0 dsg and dpf issues.

Thanks.

In my experience VAG cars are great in showing signs of a weak battery ,the footwell lights stop glowing when the doors are opened ,the infotainment system goes off when going from accessory mode to crank and maybe some warning lights on the cluster however battery going off suddenly especially after a one hour drive can be due to a defective battery not able to hold charge.
High end cars uses the so called smart alternator and the voltmeter readings cannot be used to make judgments about the alternator as the BCM and ECU manages things differently compared to an entry level VAG car like polo.

Hello,

How is the Superb doing? Have you had to make use of the extra engine oil that you keep in the boot? Does one have to watch the oil consumption on TSI engines more than other turbo petrol engines? I have never had to top up oil between oil changes on my current car.

I find the new Kodiaq to be quite a VFM product compared to what the rivals have to offer. However, since my use case would involve rural travel, would it be a bad idea to get one, considering the TSI engine's inherent tendency to sip oil?
