Thank you in advance.
ZX comes with auto leveling headlamps, so no manual adjustment available.

Hi,

I have the G AT 2022 (June) and have fitter the showroom (Viva Toyota, Mysore road) provided art leather seat covers. They are very nice and no smell at all. I drive all windows rolled-up with A/C all the time. They have perfect fitting similar to the Z model leather seats.

How much did it cost? Can you share the part code or pic of the invoice?

Different question:
If there is a software update, can we update it by ourselves or ASC only can do?

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

I have the 2022 GX AT (January). I would like to add front sensors. Can someone please confirm if this can be added as an accessory with a Toyota dealer?

I have completed close to about 10K so far. Very happy with the vehicle. Have made two trips to Mumbai and one to Bangalore so far. Such a fantastic ride on the highway - an absolute gem of an engine.

We also have a 2.8 GX AT (2017). My Crysta drives much faster. The engine tuning is absolutely superb. So much power on tap. All concerns of mine about the 2.4 litre engine have been laid to rest.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Guys, need suggestion on DPF regen in Toyota Innova Crysta Z AT model. If while driving, the DPF regen starts automatically and if we reach the destination before it gets completed, should we let the engine run idle until it gets completed before turning it off or if we turn it off before it gets completed, will there be any damage. Need valuable inputs in this regard. Thanks in advance.

It is absolutely okay to shut the engine off midway through the regeneration process if you have reached your destination. I have done this quite a few times on my Fortuner, without any issues. The process just restarts the next time engine is started and is sufficiently warm to kick things off.

It does not make sense to let the engine idle for regeneration process to complete, unless it is at the fag end i.e. at the last "bar" per the MID display, given which, it should complete within a min or two of engine idle.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Took the Z AT out for its first highway / long drive. Some observations:

1) The ride quality is just insane - and the captain seats are a delight
2) The FE was way lower on Eco mode vs normal mode - a difference of 2 kmpl
3) The USB port to be used for Music / CarPlay is the one on the arm-rest, not the one next to the 12V charger below the centre console. Why?! Isn't that easier for the driver?!
4) There is some nervousness on the highway on the 17" tyres given that the monsoon has brought out random huge craters on the roads
5) If my wipers are active, and I engage R, the rear wiper doesn't come on. Come on, Toyota! Cars 1/10th the Crysta's price have this
6) Very unhappy with the HU UI/UX: the On/Off button turns on/off the audio, but there is a three-click process to turn off the display. Should have been more intuitive.
7) The AT is smooth, responsive and isn't boring for a car this size and shape

It costed me Rs.35,000/-. I am not sure of the part code or anything, just spoke with the accessories in-charge and got it fitter.

Agree, 2.4 litre engine is no less. I got mine delivered in June and have dropped it for the first service today.
No complains as such. Fantastic ride quality and impressive NVH levels.

I opted for the 360 degree camera at the time of purchase and also asked if front sensors can be installed. The accessories in-charge did not clearly answer whether they have it as a genuine accessory or not, but convinced me otherwise saying that holes will have to be drilled in the front bumper and also that the 360 degree camera is anyway going to be there for help.

I have lately felt that the sensors would still add value - particularly considering that in tight parking spaces, the clarity of 360 degree camera is not that real great.

There are advantages though:
1. When you turn on the indicator to the right and left, the corresponding under-ORVM camera gets activated and the front wheel portion is shown in the HU.
2. The HU also shows the view from front camera as soon as you start the car and when you return from the Reverse gear to the Drive mode.

While these features are helpful, I feel they are too intrusive - especially when you are using Maps/GPS.

That said, if at all you happen to install the front sensors from Toyota, please let me also know and I shall opt for it too.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Our 2.7 Z AT Innova Crysta (2019 Manufactured) went for it's 40,000kms service last week at 35,2xxkms at Galaxy Toyota, Okhla, Delhi (A place where we send / used to send all our Toyotas - 2.5 D4D Innova, 3.0 4x4 AT Fortuner and even our Corolla Altis 1.8 CVT). They just told that all the alloys have bends and the same was noted in the previous service but the service advisor didn't tell us at that time. We just complained that the alignment is off and there is a lot of bubbling. They fixed it with balancing, but still is it a thing to be worried about? I know that the 17 inch alloys have always had a problem and for a few months Toyota sold the ZX models with 16 inch wheels as well. Does it make sense having it fixed (if possible)?

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Have been on two highway drives over the past week or so.

On the first highway drive (250 kms each way), the DPF regen message came up almost exactly mid-way on the highway where the car was being driven at 80 km/hr consistently. During the regen, the counter showed two sticks.

On the second one (~ 120 kms each with half of it on mountain roads), the regen message came on the last fews kms during the return leg while I was driving through peak city traffic. It had four sticks then.

Is there a logic on when the regen is triggered? Say 100-150 kms and highway speeds/revs?

In general regen happens at interval of 150-200KM. However it will vary a lot depending on how you drive, altitude, quality of diesel etc. In city, regens are more frequent.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Hello everyone,

We own a 2019 2.7 ZX AT Innova Crysta at home. As of today it has done 36,000 kms in 3 years 5 months. It went for it's scheduled 40k kms service last week to Galaxy Toyota, Okhla, New Delhi where I was told all the 4 alloys (17 inch) are slightly bent. They said that the wobbling will be fixed by wheel balancing and wheel alignment. In the city, car seemed to be fine.

Today, on the highway the car started swerving heavily towards the left and it really makes me feel that the alignment was not done properly or not done at all. The Toyota service advisor has told me the car will be picked up next week and it will be all sorted (since I am away from home for the weekend).

I have read that in 2017, Toyota temporarily stopped offering 17 inch alloys. If this is a manufacturing defect, will Toyota not take care of it?

1. Do bent alloy wheels cause problems?
2. Is it feasible to downgrade to 16 inch with a new set of tires or just new 17 inch alloys should work?
3. Why was this reported to me just after the warranty period got over?

It triggers every 190-200kms like clockwork in my car if driven only inside the city. If there is a highway drive in between then regen gets extended to 250kms. If purely highway I have not monitored it since it is difficult to notice as my car doesn't display this in the MID.

In general once soot accumulation crosses 25-30% regen will be requested to the ECU. But engine should be warm for this to happen. Upto a max of 40% soot accumulation is permitted for auto regen which takes place for 10-15mins. During this phase if the engine never warms up fully or in case of MT car is driven only at low speeds, then auto regen fails and manual regen is requested which will take longer due to higher soot accumulation. In the AT, it is easier since higher idle speeds during regen is not a safety issue unlike manual.

Same issue with my car. The rear rims seem to have a runout as per the service comments. But this bend isn't visible nor is it causing any wobbling, air loss etc which is characteristic of a bend. Regarding downgrade I think it worsens the body roll and steering agility hence I'm not inclined towards it. But it will definitely improve ride and reduce chances of rim bends.

At least with my car they did a shoddy job of wheel alignment even after replacing the camber adjustment bolt after which they claimed they would do a perfect alignment. Right after 100kms of service I was not happy with the steering and went to my preferred shop, just to see huge deviations in the right wheel which exactly as per them was fixed perfectly. Hence I decided not to get the wheels aligned at Toyota in the future.

Regarding the rims itself, replace all four with someone who is upgrading their crysta rims with after market rims. You might get a good deal.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

Have driven 800km round trip and found my right inner thumb finger skin was slightly peeled, may be due to rubbing against the steering wheel material (no leather, it is just the default one that comes with GX manual) during full turning action. Did anyone face this issue? Is adding leather cover help? If yes, Toyota Genuine accesory (Rs. 500 i think) or after market?
