This launch has re-ignited the interest levels in a lifestyle pick up truck which M&M and Tata Motors have been unsuccessful at.
With higher disposable incomes and many urban folk having land investments in the outskirts or in nearby smaller towns, I guess such vehicles can be put to good use to bring back some farm produce or atleast help in bragging to the neighbours

Beyond that - there is very little utility I guess.

At the price point, the build better be good, but that also means, that load bay is going to be very well taken care of and hardly be put to use for even its rated payload.

Checked. The registration process had not been completed. It would come up soon.

As a side note, I like the kit on the loading bay. It negates the length a bit , visually, and makes the vehicle look well proportioned.

There is a foot behind the rear leaf perch on the Chasis that can be safely lopped of. We need to find a good tinker that can alter the bed to make it look OE.

Got the delivery of my V-Cross today. Drove from New Bombay to Santacruz and it hardly took any time to get used to the size of the vehicle.

Going to Ranthambore tomorrow on solo Photography trip instead of Pondicherry due to concern regarding Karnataka and Tamilnadu water issues.

10~11 Kmpl is what I get ... but yes some people have claimed to get 12 ~ 13 Kmpl

I am getting around 10.3 or so in city with AC.

Assuming that the 12-14 quote is quite realistic on the highway. Mind you - I have not even done 1000 km yet. Mileage should improve after the first service.

I am getting 10 in city driving conditions with constant a/c. Haven't taken it out for a long enough drive on the highway to get a good idea of the highway mileage but i assume that would be around 12 or 13.

It looks awesome but I wonder how it handles on turns and at speed. Braking will also be worse than stock with the added weight of wheels and larger tires. Performance will also go down and so will mileage. Will be a nightmare to clean as well. Getting in and out will require gymnastic leaps. Maybe this is the not so secret new way to train for the next Olympics ?

Sir, I mean zero disrespect (having always believed aesthetics is a matter of individual taste and preferences), but the first thing that came to mind when I looked at this monster is “Redneck”.

If that Sikh gentleman is the owner of the vehicle, he’d need nothing less than a ladder to enter and exit the car. And being not much taller myself, I guess the sheer height is also something that makes this rather unappealing to me.

As for the technical side of a mod like this, does the lifted suspension also come with counter weights to still keep the centre of gravity reasonable?
And also, what does something like this do to the aerodynamics of the vehicle built in at the designing stage?

I'm involved in administering an offline group of people who own the Vcross. Currently our numbers stand at eighty eight owners. It's an interesting mix of IT professionals, businessmen, restauranteurs, doctors, army officers,farmers, auto industry professionals and an architect, CA, lawyer each.

Contrary to popular perception that it would be messy to travel in the cities, I conducted a head count of cities represented thus far.The maximum numbers belong to Chandigarh tricity area followed closely by Bangalore,NCR, Mumbai & Hyderabad - all heavily congested areas. Added representation from Kochi, Coimbatore, Manali, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana,Dimapur,Lahaul,Surat etc

Also contrary to common perception most of us are using the Vcross as our primary daily commute vehicle and loving it!
