Please check this video. I watched this twice and installed the TPMS myself. Blaupunkt is exactly same as steelmate shown in this video.

Installed Pillar lights by Galaxy Toyota. (Pix frames are captured from the CCTV cameras installed in my parking, hence the quality is bad)

Re: Toyota Fortuner : Official Review

Anyone using the Steelmate Tpms T-74. The one featured in the above video? Planning to order it online from Amazon US Store. Price seems like a steal compared to the Blaunpunkt TPMS

Looks nice

Which brand is this from and what was the cost?
How did they draw the power?
Any effect on the electrical warranty?

Thanks for sharing

The box said Superlux XZO47 and chinese letters sticker. I did a search and found this link showing exactly the same packaging box.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SNCN...5-37534fdedb2f

Cost was 6500/-(with 12.5% Vat)

They connected with wiring of brake lights.
The pillar lights carry a warranty of six months. Since the dealer has sold and installed it, electrical warranty remain unaffected.

Please do ask the seller for manufacturing date. I got it from Amazon seller Car Smith123 and it was manufactured in Dec 2014.

Since the battery (CR1632) is supposed to last 2 years, i was (still am) concerned though the Blaupunkt sale manager said not to worry. Still i intend to keep a set of spare batteries on long drives to Himalayas.

So this illuminates only when the brake is applied (Is the red colour of the accessory matching with the red of the tail lamp ? )

How was the power drawn? Was a wire tap used or they spliced the wire?

When you get sometime ,can you have a word with the warranty guys about wire tapping and reconfirm the same(asking because I am confused about these policies)

The accessories division pushes to sell promising that warranty will not be affected but the warranty guys have a different version.

*An example of how stupid these people are:
My friend had changed the interior cabin lights for his 2013 Fortuner to Philips ulthion LEDS

A few days later door ajar switches stopped working.

The warranty guys said this must have happened because of the change in bulbs and warranty was denied saying non genuine/non toyota product was used.

But none of these will void the original Toyota warranty.
Plus, i don't think TKMC will ever go against their largest number of vehicles selling dealer in this part of Asia.

Re: Toyota Fortuner : Official Review

Wanted to warn you guys against a Chinese accessory being sold for the New Fortuner

The LED light which people are replacing the rear reflector with, doesn't have a reflector function.Attached a picture for your reference

So if you park your car in a dark street be assured that no other vehicle passing by will not notice it

You should be ok, I don't think anything can go wrong due to a LED and that too which is sold by Dealer. It's priced competitively as well. I saw a bigger LC last week on way to Airport which had very nice looking rear LED tail lamps as well a very bright white LED that went over /under Fog Lamp lamps, it appears MGF guys are importing a lot of accessories. If they import quality stuff and price competitively, it's a win-win for all.

Looks super cool.

The light colour (without the brake lights) seems to be of a different colour (at least in the picture). This could mean that it is bit as sharp as the LED OE Tail lamps. The brake light seems to be bright enough.

I hope it is a snug fit..

Closer nicer quality pictures will be of great help. Thank you very much for sharing this cool accessory.

I agree with you. The dealer had a list of non-toyota accessories worth about 2 lakh rupees. I found the pillar lamps very attractive indeed, hence bought only these.

@ecosport rules

I answered your questions in above post one by one but the mod thought i quoted a very long post, hence he snared the post. Here are answers:

1. The red color matched exactly. Its lighted even without brakes being applied but glows more wih brakes. The second pix above is with breakes applied.

2. Power was drawn with T-taps (original Toyota, not those which were in the accessory box). No wire cutting.

3. The dealer gave me three lists of accessories without mentioning what the product name for each stands for. What i understated is that : NGTA means Non Genuine Toyota Accessory. TGA means Toyota Genuine Accessory.

Further TGA are of two types : Indian - made by Toyota Kirloskar, Imported - made by Toyota Motor Corp.

@ MAS
I will take proper pictures and post here.

Re: Toyota Fortuner : Official Review

Wow! what a nice way to earn & also make everyone happy Toyota HQ's should take Indian market seriously & on priority, from hybrids to SUV there's immense potential. If customers can splurge 2-4 Lac just on accessories on Fortuner which is priced at 33 Lac or so, they will surely find many buyers for an Indian assemble LC - Prado at 55-60 Lac, my guess is at least 25 % from Fortuner/Endeavour segment and around similar % from Germans. 500 -750 numbers can be a fair estimate and then they can use production from India for Exports as well.

Given that Toyota India now produces 2,8 Ltr engine CKD assembly should be easy. Come on Toyota - what's stopping you?

OMG I didn't know we have so many accessories available for Fortuner.

It is too tempting for me specially the Automatic Foot Steps. I have seen them in LR Discovery they look really cool.

Colour matches the original lamps and the finish us neat too.

Thanks to you that I saw it in person today with Autohub,Chennai
Ahmed is a nice and pleasant guy
He quoted INR 6000 but you can negotiate for INR 5000

Notice three wires hanging out,you can choose to either connect to
1)Parking and brake
2)Only brake
3)Only parking

Will attach the picture I shot.

Thanks for your detailed reply

Good to know that they used the wire taps.
The wire tap used by Toyota and non Toyota Accessories is from the same brand "AWG"

Simply because that bonnet wont need any opening at all, other than during regular service
