I checked the price today with a dealer in Bangalore - Price drop of 5 Lacs!

For the 4X4 AT, the price was 42.5L now it is 37.57L and 37.67L (Pearl White)

The ARB dealer at Bangalore quotes prices like this all the time. Tell your friend to negotiate very hard.
Not just the summit bar, I find all the prices super inflated. 50k INR for a snorkel? What is it made of, Titanium from paradise?:Frustrati

According to ARB price list in Perth, the 2015+ Fortuner Summit Bar costs 2285 AUD, which is about 1.13L INR. So we pay about 46% extra on top for shipping + dealer commission + govt duties (GST should make this cheaper from what I know).

The Safari Snorkel is 485 AUD (24k INR). The premium on this one is almost 120%. Indeed feels a bit on the higher side.

Its completely wrong. In fact Bangalore is not even getting the same price cut as in Delhi.

2.8 4x4 AT is 29,18,600 Delhi price & Bangalore its 29,98,600

Difference is 80K.

Price cut in Delhi is 2.25 - 2.68L & In Bangalore its flat 2.17L

In GST, at least the price cut is supposed to be same across the country.

OME Suspension is totally worth this price, How much lift is he getting?

If your friend is here in North India, first find a competent workshop which has worked on Air Lockers already. Fitting Air lockers is a complex job as it requires laying down pipes and plumbing for compressed air.

Bullbar is expensive, go for alternatives, Ironman is better VFM. Same for Snorkel get Ironman, should cost you around 30k.

For rocksliders/footsteps, get them custom made, for Delhi NCR i highly recommend Classic, Noida. I am sure you might have seen work on Manish's Endeavour.

Recovery points are highly recommended, totally worth.

Didn't ask but I think the OME website says front and rear lift will be 35 and 25mm respectively.

He's based in Chennai, so I think it makes sense for him to drive to Bangalore for this job. Anyway, we had a chat about this and he's holding off on the air lockers for now to see how capable the new suspension is and then take a call.

Yeah that's what I thought: most people just get these custom made. Apparently they hinder proper functioning of side/curtain airbags? I wasn't too sure about this so didn't comment.

Will ask him to send pictures when the install is done.

I was at the local Toyota dealership yesterday to see the new Fortuner with a friend of mine, o' Boy!! The rush is mighty and meaty!! With the price drop, the Fortuner bookings here seems to be flying through the roof!

10,000km Update:
Crossed 10,000km this week. It took me 6 months to reach this milestone. Did 4,500km in the last month and a half. The running has now increased to around 100km a day as it is now my daily drive to work.


So my view of the Fortuner after 6 months of ownership remains the same as day 1. A few advantages and disadvantages from my side:
Advantages:
1.Creature comforts such as keyless entry, automatic rear hatch, Bluetooth Phone connection have made my life easy (I do understand that they are available in a Hyundai i10 Grand as well)
2.Frugal fuel consumption and Big tank means I don't have to tank up often. I am constantly getting 11.0km/l.
3.Middle seat is surprisingly comfortable, I am chauffeur driver now mostly. Which means I have handed over the car to my chauffeur(Eco Mode only, atleast that is what I hope!)
4.The six speed manual is a joy and the iMT feature is like icing on the cake,I have grown fond of the growl the engine makes when I downshift from third to second.

Disadvantages:
1.My single most point of annoyance with the car has to be the TYRES!
They suck to the core. They are annoying they lack dry grip as well as wet grip. I am starting to hear a drone while the car is cruising nowadays. I will not be using these tyres for more than a year for sure. Suprisingly they do well off-road.
2. Toyota should have given a panoramic sunroof, apple carplay and android auto. The latter can be added but will always miss the panoramic sunroof, it pains to see the competitor offering it that too at lesser price.

Did one single long trip in February Mumbai-Jaisalmer-Mumbai. Did both sides in a single go without a halt.

10,000km service
Gave my car for service last friday for the 10,000km service. This was the last labour free service. The service includes oil change, need to check whether the oil filter was changed too, inspection and tyre rotation. Total service cost was Rs.2891/-. That's super cheap, don't understand how they can afford to give such service at such cheap prices.
One important thing worth mentioning is that the High tone horn conked off twice in a period of six months. My Innova is still running stock horn for the past 2,25,000 km and 7 years. Got it replaced under warranty, making it the first warranty claim in 8 years of my Toyota Ownership. Not a big deal though as long as it doesn't conk off again.:Frustrati

Any one knows location of OBD port in new fortuner?

I hope you have found it already. I have got matchpoint gps installed recommended by HDFC Bank loan personnel. Its working fine. OBD port is located below the fuel lid opener on the right side of footwell( driver side).
