From two different segments and with different cylinder configurations, hence the apparent difference.

Check for any 2017 inventory, discounts are fairly steep on them, if you are Ok with a MY17 car. The discounted amount + it's time value of money will surely be better than the difference in the disposal price of two MY cars when you think of disposing it.

Ignis is one of Suzuki's 2017 bestseller in Europe. However there were reports of a 'bumpy' ride over uneven surfaces.

Suzuki has responded to the complaint and now Ignis suspension upgraded to enhance ride quality ( EUROPE )

Suzuki has now responded to these comments by fitting the car with new front and rear shock absorbers and different bump stops. It claims these changes make the car's ride more compliant, particularly over uneven surfaces

The upgrades have been applied to series-production Allgrip four-wheel drive models since the end of 2017 and are available as a retrofit for owners of older models.

Hope they offer the same to us here. Although, I do not find the ride to be unusually bumpy if the tire pressures are maintained at the company recommended 36/32 front and rear respectively.

My AMT Petrol seems to be getting better in the ride quality and gear shift department as the kilometres increase. Currently I am at 1200 kms.

For those who have the need to make their vehicle pricey enough to avoid getting noticed in a cheap convenient car at all costs, this is the best thing they can jump in to. Avoiding all other options in the price range requires a special level of intellectual acumen.

9.5 lakhs seems to be on the pricier side for an Ignis AMT. The diesel AMT also has the job of handling the turbo lag of the 1.3 MJD.

I suggest you look at the Baleno CVT if you are open to petrol motors too.

Sir, the new swift body is scarily tinny. I am not exaggerating. Took a test drive and something just told me this was not very safe. No offence to fellow buyers. I sincerely hope and believe its a safe car and my observation could just be my ignorance.

Ignis/swift/dzire will have similar body quality. Only S cross / ertiga have somewhat strong body.

Jumping from Swift/ ignis is unthinkable! Absolutelu uncomparable except both drive on 4 wheels.

I think all Maruti cars are tinny.
Swift Diesel has a kerb weight of around 970kg whereas the Ignis D has a kerb weight of around 870Kg.
I couldn't understand how you considered Ignis if you find Swift to be tinny!

Ignis did not feel tinny. Seeing in person I found a real difference in built quality between the both. Again, as I said before I might be making a very wrong assumption.

Was out at Purnea Nexa driving the Ignis petrol. The sales guy didn’t allow to take it on a side road as per him, the car’s navigation is on and it can be traced. We can test the AMT on bad roads.

I just might make a purchase this month and of all contenders, I am leaning more towards Ignis Alpha petrol. But these kind of experiences are like..
