However I have hardly seen this mentioned anywhere. Is it a common issue or is there something wrong with my car ?

You didn't read the official review properly, did you ?

Go to the first page of this thread and read post #9 (Ride and handling).

I don't think its that common as I have extensively driven a Wagon R and Alto and both never had any such issue. The return to center action worked at almost all speeds except very slow speeds.

Theoretically I did read the review but somehow completely missed that part

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

I stand corrected. I remember reading this observation particularly in Maruti cars, but seems the non-returning of steering to center is not a common issue.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Has anybody faced issues with AC whine. I have a September 2018 Ignis Zeta Manual and whenever the compressor kicks in there is a distinct whine which I have never heard in other Maruti cars I have owned before. There have been similar complains in the all India Ignis Owners WAG as well for cars manufactured last year.

I faced the same in our 2018 April Ignis Alpha Amt and Maruti replaced the Ac compressor under warranty to get rid of it . After replacement the car has been driven more than 5000kms and that whine is absent now .
There was another whine which cropped up after the second service at 5000 km but I was told that it's a typical maruti car trait .
It was a task to make the different service engineers take notice of the different whines and squeaks .

This issue is there in my new swift too and it is mentioned in its review. I guess you are remembering this.

The Swift has a tight turning radius of 4.8 meters, which makes U-turns a breeze to execute. However, one must remember that the steering's return-to-center action is very weak (a design flaw). This means that the driver will have to actually turn the wheel back straight after a U-turn!!

That's great to hear. Which Nexa Service Center was this. I did some research that the issue is mostly cars fitted with Calsonic compressors, while the other options were Denso and Subros.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

A quick question to Ignis owners or team bhpians who have evaluated the car recently. Does the Zeta variant(nexa blue colour) get blue coloured accents inside? Is this feature limited to alpha trim only?

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Now the confusion is that the Maruti Nexa chap took a full day and a half to check this and is insisting that the nexa blue colour of ignis does not come with inside blue accents. He sent me pictures to prove it, though the variant shown is delta. He also confirmed that except uptown red, all other colours interior is "titanium".

Yes. I think they have changed it recently. Check this link and you will get an idea. Select the exterior colour as Nexa blue and you'll see that the interior accents are indeed Titanium.
