On one of these trips back, my front HSRP number plate broke off and got washed away! It seems the number plate bracket broke off due to the force of the water while wading through a water logged road. I raised a request for a new one from bookmyhsrp.com and am awaiting a new one. Meanwhile, I fitted a temporary replacement to avoid potential police action.

Replacement HSRP Number Plate experience through bookmyhsrp

Thought it’s best to give an update on my experience raising a request for a replacement HSRP number plate. Do note that this is the process I followed in Bengaluru, and I did not need to visit the police station. This is the process:

1. File an e-Lost Report on KSP app.
2. Download the e-Lost report locally on your phone/system for future reference.
3. Go to bookmyhsrp.com and raise a request through the option “Replacement/Retain/Transfer.”
4. After filling in the required details, you will also be asked to upload the e FIR. Upload the e-Lost report here.
5. Add the date and time slot you want to get the number plate fitted and pay the required amount (extra for home fitment)
6. You will get an SMS with the confirmation.

My experience:
Initially my application was stuck and did not go past the confirmation stage. I was not receiving any SMS updates either, so I called up the helpline after 2 days. They requested that I send the e FIR/e Lost report again through email. This time, they processed my application and I received an update by SMS (confirmation SMS immediately and number plate dispatch SMS a day later).
On the allotted day, the person came and fit the number plate. He called a few hours before the allotted time to confirm my availability, which was good on his part. Replacement of the number plate took 10 mins.

Thanks, @condor. Just wanted to update that our allotment for the Pearl Midnight Black Ignis came through yesterday. The reason for the delay was the lack of sufficient orders, just as @condor said. This makes dealerships push the customer towards booking the more readily available colours like Nexa Blue, White and Grey.

Can someone confirm if the AMT module used in Ignis is the same as other Maruti's (read Celerio, Swift, Dzire ) updated AMTs ?

No it is not, based on my July 24 experience of considering the Ignis and the Swift. It is the older type. The Swift box is notably smoother, albeit paired to the Z12 series engine unlike the K12B on the Ignis .

Thanks ! So Ignis has the better engine and Swift has the better gearbox 😄 good problem to have for the customers I believe.

Whether the Ignis has the " better" engine is up for debate. Other than a sporty rasp during acceleration, you will find the Z12 engine equally smooth.NVH levels on the Swift are quite good. The K12C engine on the Baleno/ MY23 Swift is even more refined, but that's not available on the Ignis.

The low end torque on the Z12 is great though, and urban driving is quite effortless actually.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hello People!

I have a rather peculiar problem from my Ignis's central locking. I have two keys. One I use as a primary and other as a back up. The primary remote locking stopped working about 60 days before. When i used the spare, it worked. I though the key fob battery needs replacement. I replaced the battery and it worked. After about a 120 km drive, it did not work. I though it might be key fob issue.

I started used the spare. The spare key worked for a few days and suddenly the same issue started in the spare. It works sometimes, and sometimes it does not. If I press multiple times, the car will get locked/unlocked. This will work smoothly after that. The next day when I try, it will not work. I have to manually use the key to open the door. The alarm starts buzzing. When I turn on the ignition, alarm stops.

I have checked the key fob battery with a multi meter, it shows 3V. My car battery may hardly be a year old. I use the car regular. Is this a Fuse loose connection issue? I tried searching all over the internet, I can only see suggestion to replace the key battery or take it to a ASC.

I am facing this exact problem in my August 2023 Ignis Delta AMT.

It took me by surprise as the keyfob battery does not die so soon and neither was the keyfob damaged.

Exactly like it happened with you, by pressing buttons a few times it started working normally. It worked normally for few days and then the issue recurred a few times. Funny part is it's working absolutely normally since a month. I did not end up trying the spare keyfob.

I even thought of taking the car to the service centre but i knew unless the exact same issue happens in front of the service manager they will maintain that "it's working absolutely fine" & replicating the issue in front of them is next to impossible.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hello everyone

I got two problems with my Ignis which is Alpha MT.

First being the buckle of seatbelt got loosened/freed up around three weeks back, but it still gets the work done. Upon enquiry I got to know that it’s not covered under extended warranty which rather seems strange. The Nexa Service station says that you can only get full seatbelt set and not buckle alone. I want to confirm if anyone knows if that is covered under warranty or not.

Second being the rear windshield washer nozzle. Upon sudden jerks and in potholes the water keeps on getting leaked from the nozzle. If anyone else is facing the problem please tell me a solution or if it is covered under warranty.

No doubt Maruti makes rough and tough cars for everyday use but the quality is below average in my opinion. Hyundai on the other hand has far better quality.

Thanks!

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

I got my Ignis Delta AGS recently, mainly as a city car for my sister. I also own a Baleno AGS, purchased in December 2022.

From my initial driving experience, the AGS in the Ignis feels better than the Baleno. I didn’t notice any jerks in the lower gears, and the steering's return to the center position is noticeably smoother compared to the Baleno.

Overall, it seems like a great choice so far!

What is the FE you are getting with both the cars in city & on the highways? How many km on the odo for both?

Hi, Ignis has been driven only 250 km so far, entirely within the city, with a fuel efficiency of 13 km/l.

Baleno, on the other hand, has covered 21,000 km, with ~60% on highways, and shows a fuel efficiency of 19 km/l as per the MID.

The city FE for the AGS will be a little less. Basically, it tends to hold on to the gears a little longer before up-shifting, than when we drive a manual.

But if you were to take the AGS on the highway, it will come close to that of the manual.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Greetings everyone,

Can someone mention the differences between the instrument cluster available in the Alpha trim and the one in Delta/Zeta? One difference is blue lights on the alpha one.

Regards

Mine is a Zeta MT and the only difference I see compared to Alpha is the ambient temperature display and blue lights.

And I think the lower two models (Delta, Sigma) come with completely different instrument cluster compared to Zeta/Alpha, with orange colored dials and is more basic.
