I think it's just a random guess. I haven't heard any credible information.

Suzuki has already discontinued the Ignis in other major markets, and with it not getting the 6 airbags and no updates, it is bound to be next in line to be axed from the lineup.

Totally confused now.
I have already booked the vehicle. Is it worth going ahead with my purchase plan?

But not seeing the successor in the horizon. Maruti is developing a Punch rival which we may see in 2026 or even earlier for the international markets. The Ignis may be on sale till then.

If you really liked the Ignis (not just shortlisted based on a checklist), please go for it. It is one of the few cars that I would blindly suggest my family and friends to buy. It is definitely from the historical line-up of Marutis that people regret not buying when they were on sale, but call them underrated/gems/they don't built it like they used to once production ends.

No problems reported so far and buyers satisfied with it, except for the relatively stiff ride. The old Maruti EPS not returning to centre issue was solved around 2021 and is more liveable now.

It sold in decent numbers. Maruti will ensure parts for another 15 years. There is atleast an year before its plausible discontinuation.

The Ignis is one of the few Marutis that doesn't sell well but is a great car for the money nonetheless like the Ciaz and the S-Cross before it, so if you really liked the car, I suggest you go for it regardless of whether it is discontinued or not.

I bought S-Cross towards the end of 2020 knowing that its getting discontinued in the coming future. Maruti supports all models for a long time so service won't be a problem.

Between Ignis AMT and a recent model such as Fronx Delta plus AMT, there is a good 2 lacs difference. But importantly, Ignis has all must have features and the 1.2 engine performs better in this relatively smaller car. The visibility around the A pillars is also excellent.

People are still restoring previous century Marutis with genuine MGP supplied spares! Maruti is one manufacturer you probably don't need to worry about w.r.t. parts/service support.

The K12 powertrain is shared with some of their bestsellers of years past, and Maruti's notorious parts sharing efficiency works in your favor too.

It's a wonderful car. If you like it, get it.

Thanks all for the encouraging words. I am proceeding with my purchase.

My 2013 Wagon R faced the infamous brake calliper rattling issue. Approached Maruti for a replacement, only to find out that Maruti has stopped producing the entire brake calliper assembly, verified in their SAP. At the end bought the child part made by TVS Girling.

Not only this, but most of the spares are now not readily available.

Same experience with my SCross 1.6, it's getting very difficult to get spares for discontinued cars.
