I think there is a difference in the effort due to the spring force of the clutch spring plate and the clutch pedal spring. for the initial travel (while depressing) the pedal spring force is dominant whereas, after the bite point the clutch spring plate force is dominant.

Could you DIY this for me by disconnecting the clutch pedal spring and checking for difference?

Any point in thinking of a using a different spring in the clutch pedal; which would equalize the effort required.

Wow this is interesting. Are these your friends or did you meet them first time when you were purchasing the car.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

I would appreciate suggestions from Nexon owners related to EW, Gold AMC and P2P plans.

My Nexon Petrol AMT is 2 and half months old. My average use of the car is around 800 to 1000 km/month. I planning to purchase the EW for 3 years or 1,25,000 Kms which costs Rs 21,500/- . I am contemplating between the Gold AMC and the P2P. Gold AMC for 4 years costs Rs 38,700/- and P2P costs Rs10,715 for 4 years/60k.

1) Has anybody taken the Gold AMC for Nexon? Is it worth? What is the service cost per year you have paid without AMC after the 1st year?
2) P2P can be purchased within 2 years from Date of sale of vehicle. So it practical to purchase it now?

Thanks,

Within a couple of days of ownership I had managed to get a hang of the clutch pedal/plate springs' behaviour. I modulate it quite well in traffic etc without any jerks / sudden bites or jumps since then. So it isn't a tough ask.

The DIY you are asking for is a tricky one. I'll see if I can try - no promises. The way the clutch pedal spring is generally positioned in most cars, its not the easiest to reach. And god forbid if it actually has quite a lot of tension - it means it may be very difficult to reinstall it after removal on my own without the right tools / extra hand. And if I can't put it back - I'll have to tow a car that otherwise had no problem.

With that kind of usage, I do not see the need for Gold AMC. Get the EW (highly recommended) and buy P2P during or a month before the third service (1 year interval). That ways, you'll have EW and P2P coverage for the next 4 years. Make sure you buy EW before completing 90 days else you'll end up paying more. Refer to the below table for EW:

I doubt this theory because I've seen this pattern in quite a few cars. This is from the Aventador SVJ, yes the mighty Lamborghini

Haha, how did that slip their eye!
Or perhaps MB excused them just like Louis Vuitton excused my UBER driver for these floor mats in his WagonR

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Good morning BHPians,

The first service of my Nexon is due. Can anyone tell me a reliable service center around Mumbai where I can get it serviced?

Thanks in advance!

Oh that looks really pleasant. For the first time in life I actually felt like owning an iPhone. Android auto looks pretty lame in comparison. Like a project made at some cheap online UI designing course.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

I am planning to buy Nexon XZ+ O (Diesel) and as per suggestions from many members I am planning to buy the insurance from outside. The showroom is quoting Rs. 66460/-

I have a few doubts on purchasing insurance from outside.

1. Which Insurance company should I look for and how good is New India Assurance?
2. What kind of insurance coverage should I buy?
3. Can I avail cashless, Zero Depreciation facility if I buy insurance from outside?
4. Would there be any problems to claim insurance if I buy from outside?
5. How much would be the premium if I buy it outside?

I got a discount of almost 25k on the insurance for petrol XZA+. The end price was just a few thousands more than the lowest quote on policy bazaar, so I'm sticking with the dealer for this.

My SA at Prerana Motors Bangalore introduced me to a agent from Tata AIG who gave me a best quote of 27,725/- for my Petrol XZA+. He also confirmed that there will be no issues during any claims.

This covered the below,

1 Year Term for Own Damage(B2B) & 3 years for Third Party. It included the below add on's,
  • Engine Secure
  • Key Replacement
  • Road Side Assistance
  • Consumables Expenses
  • Loss of personal belongings Sum Insured : 10,000.00
  • Emergency transport and hotel expenses
  • Depreciation Reimbursement

In my view, add on's like Engine Secure, Consumables Expenses, Emergency transport and hotel expenses and Key replacement are the critical ones to have.

That's really high. Get insurance from outside.
I went with New India, and it's good. They have cashless and zero dep.
There is absolutely no problem buying outside and it's the same.
Speak to New India for a quote. It will be far less.

I have booked Nexon XZ+ Petrol last month (waiting period is 5 to 7 weeks in Kochi, Kerala). The dealer quoted 44k for insurance and later offered a 10k on insurance which would be 33k. The New India Assurance agent from whom my Dad buys his car insurance quoted 24k (he said the amount will be less than this actually). I am going with the New India guy. As Sebring mentioned, they have cashless and zero dep.
