This is what I heard from the service advisor as well. The update happens online when they connect the service laptop to the OBD port.

My car has the physical buttons. I think my car must be from the last batch to have the physical buttons. I went to the dealership to sign RTO form and saw the new cars without the physical buttons at the showroom.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Hello! I need some advice from Kolkata's Nexon tribe. My 2020 Petrol Nexon had its insurance bought from the dealership itself. It is a Bajaj Allianz policy, and the dealership is Dulichand Motors. But due to a miscommunication between me and my father, it is not a Zero Depreciation policy. Therefore, I will be looking to change this policy once it expires. Can anyone shed some light on what policy I should buy - what company, estimated premium amount etc. I don't usually face the need to claim insurance.

Well to check insurance quotes policybazaar is the best, just enter some details and you will have your quote, but as you want insurance quotes for your second year insurance, then someone who has recently renewed their insurance will have to help.

Get comprehensive insurance with nill/zero depp, also opt for consumables cover, and engine/gearbox cover if you live in a flood prone area. Regarding company all major companies are good, I myself haven't faced an issue with any company. Try go digit, their prices are low and their customer support is excellent.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Noticed a few drops of oil under the car yesterday. Car has run 32.5k kms. Oil level looked fine, but saw traces of oil seepage under the oil filter. Took it to ASC, they they tightened the oil filter slightly. Strange that this happened almost 2.5k kms post the last oil change. No leaks now. Planning to get the oil and filter changed on the next service (at 37500kms) just to be sure.

Will the dealer give any written document of booking with price details or the booking receipt good enough?
I have asked for the e-mail confirmation and they have sent booking receipt of Rs.21000 and Model.

The waiting period has increased to 16 to 17 weeks. So just want to make sure I have all the docs and confirmation of booking. Please help.

While this is fine, the dealership also gave us a yellow slip with all the booking details after we booked the car, as well as a printed receipt of the booking amount with the signature of the Sales Manager. This is in addition to the email that was sent to us. I do not know what the contents of the email you have been sent are, however, so I am unsure as to whether all this information is contained in your email or not.

Please ask the dealership to communicate to you in writing (it can be through email), all the points agreed to your deal, freebies if any, booking amount that has been paid, discounts given if any, etc. Otherwise you will have no proof in case, god forbid, things fall through.

Folks does anyone have any updates on the functioning of the TaMo Pune plant, and how the Maharashtra Covid situation and lockdown is impacting Production and wait times?
I was reading somewhere that they are operating with reduced staff, and prioritising Defence orders and ambulances.

Please let me know what happens to this issue once you get it checked. I have the same query about this issue in the new Safari as well which has very low volume in the second row. I tried the fader settings etc but did not work.
I checked during my first service on couple of other BS6 Nexon and the volume output was low in the rear seat side. I got to check on BS4 and it sounded perfectly fine same as the front speakers. Service technician told that it's intentionally done on BS6 which I'm not buying. Not sure if he is right or will have to wait for TATA / Harman to fix it

Nexon XZA+ Petrol : About my first Service (@SIFA Motors Pallavaram)

Got it done on 8 Apr @1900+ Kms.

Complaints:
1. Seat Recliner lever not smooth and gets stuck. New persons will struggle to adjust the seat reclining position. (Not Yet resolved. I think I will have to live with it. I've been asked to remove the seat covers and then lodge a complaint and still no guarantee that it will be fixed. Not sure if I should remove the seat cover and raise a complaint? I may have to spend extra bucks on seat cover again as I fear it might damage the cover and might not get the same fit again once removed. Would be happy if some one could guide me here)
2. Rattling from B Pillar- It was resolved. They found the culprit to be the door stopper bolt which was loose. It came back again couple of days back along with some rattling sound from A Pillar / Front passenger side window. Have to check during my next visit.
3. Weak horn - I mean during long press, it sounds like battery is low. Not sure if this is how it would be during long press. I do this long press when some one (bus/auto) comes so close or at intersections. Was told that horn is fine

4. Vehicle slight Pulling towards left side - Not Resolved. Acknowledged by the service technician but he said it is very minimal and no need to rotate the tyres or go for wheel alignment. I ensured that it was not due to air pressure by checking it as well. Hope they fix it during the second service
5. No ECU/ TCU update applicable for my vehicle. Just the infotainment version update
6. Engine Noise I some how feel it is high - Was told it is normalI dint feel the same way during TD. It felt little more silent. other Petrol owners can confirm please.

I'm happy with the service center. They were more cordial, receptive and acknowledge the problem instead of just outright reject as if they know the car better. Above all, they seemed more capable.

Waiting lounge is very small and does not have AC.

One thing I hated the most is the quality of car wash and the swirl marks (even after I took care to remind them 2-3 times to use new clothes and not the dirty ones. Don't think they listened to it at all)

How I feel after 2500Kms
I'm so happy with the choice I have made and it left me so impressed within the city as well as on highway. I took a two lane highway and oh boy..Never felt like I was driving AMT/Auto. Ofcourse on Sportz mode. I tried manual mode as well and was able to overtake vehicles at ease as good as my previous vehicle (Ritz Diesel). Low beam is very ineffective on highways. Most of the time I had to use the high beam.

Horn - change them to better dual tone horn, add a separate relay as well if needed, my Nano Genx used to have the same problem, useless horn it is.

Alignment - get this corrected outside, never do it with the service center, its a specialist job, once a tire gets unevenly worn, it will never drive the same way.

Wash - Clean the car before giving it for service (Yep) and do not wash the vehicle at the service center, even if its free , it used to be free a few years back.

I once took my sparkling clean white Nano for service, I parked it in the designated sport, after that a technician came, parked an indica ahead of it, started testing something on its engine and my sparkling white Nano now looked grey.

There are production cuts. However - if your query is related specifically to Nexon - then its not made at the plant about which you are asking. Nexon is made at the Tata-Fiat plant in Ranjangaon along with the Compass. There are cuts at this plant also - however these are linked more to disrupted supply of input material and industrial O2.

The Nexon's stock dual horn is fine. Its more than enough loud for regular usage. If you press it too long - it will result in high current draw with fluctuations from the battery especially at low engine RPM. I suggest you avoid it as much as possible. Outside the car its quite loud. You might not hear it as loud in the cabin with all windows rolled up.

I replaced my Nexon's horn - but I have installed the same 2 units into the Alto now (with a relay harness, since Alto had single stock horn) & find it excellent. In the Alto - this pair is LOUD in the cabin also .
