Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

As per owners manual of Tata Nexon the kerb weight of diesel version (XE) is 1225 kg and
for remaining versions it is 1250 kg. So the Power/weight ratio (BHP/Ton ) will jump from 83 to 88 and Torque/Weight ratio ( NM/Ton) will jump from 199 to massive 212 . This change further makes the car more impressive !!!

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

A brief search of Interest by subregions in India on Google Trends for Tata Nexon - India, Past 90 days - https://g.co/trends/ZviBy

Guess where maximum interest in the Nexon is being shown ? Well, top 3 being the North East!

I guess they find the tractability in the 1.5L Diesel mill & ground clearance very useful through the hills!
Maybe ride-quality wouldn't be topmost priority out there.

OT: Engine is not a limiting factor for FCA anymore since the 1.6 is (being) localized for exports of the Compass and the upcoming Renegade for India.
Yeah, probably. Just the thought gave me the kick though!

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Guys, don't the Nexon Xz+ variants have a storage box under the front passenger seat?

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

No Sam, it doesn't have under seat storage unfortunately. Could have been a nice feature to have. They could have offered it as accessory at least.

Speaking of which, the accessories are still to come. I need a car cover badly.

From what I know - the 'white wax' formulation just includes some cleaning agents additional over the normal ones. Nothing harmful to darker colours as well.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

XT is not bad at all. My cousin got delivery of his Ignis petrol yesterday. With a budget of 7 lakhs he could have easily picked up the Nexon XT variant. But the wait was uncertain. Dealerships are non committal on dates if they're not non XZ+ models he told me. Any idea what the waiting periods are like, now?

That is an excellent colour you have got. Feels real mature. The only part I dont like is the ceramic X strip on rear. Too bold for my taste. Maybe a black stickering job might bring it to my liking. Still need to see one in flesh to get the real feel.

Good to know it has been niggle free. And that solid build is something that gives peace of mind.

BTW owners can you describe how well does the Nexon accelerate for quick overtaking manuvers? Do we need to drop a gear or two or just push the accelerator and it speeds up?

How does it compare with Maruti Brezza in highway situations?

So the Nexon has only the driver’s window console that is backlit. The rest aren’t. Isn’t that very cheap of TATA? When the Zest has all of them backlit.
And since they are the same console, how tough/easy would a swap be?

Don't think the XT would fit into that price bracket. In Bangalore, the XM petrol variant is selling at 8 Lakhs on road. XT is close to 10 Lakhs.

IMO Nexon was an ideal upgrade package for Tiago owners. Lots of familiar stuff in the cabin and plenty of welcome improvements which ex-Tata owners will appreciate. The power delivery of the petrol and diesel in Sports mode will be the topping on the cake for people used to the rather sober mill of the Tiago. However, Tata have too many balls in the air as of now - the Tiago being a relatively new launch, dealers are not quoting any more than 3.5 Lakhs for the XZ P seriously? providing some good exchange plans for Tiago owners would have seen an immediate organic increase in Nexon sales and Showroom footfalls.

Nope. We confirmed with Tata - there is no drawer under the passenger seat.

Those tires on XE variant look so puny, is it same size as the XM XT variant?

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Guys, made the following correction to our review. Big thanks to Scopriobharath for bringing it to our attention. Owner Sebring has also confirmed the same here.

Rear passengers merely get a blower, not a proper air-con unit.
