Wow. You are selling your 3 year old CRV (taking a big hit financially) and still don't mind buying one more CRV, this time in Diesel Avatar. That speaks volume on your trust and likability for Honda.

My honest opinion would be to drive current one for one more year. Reasons below:

1) Selling your BS IV car today or one year from now won't have big
difference on money and you are anyways not expecting much from it. That way you can buy a BS VI car be it CRV or Kodiaq.

2) The current discounts that you see now will definitely come back on both these cars one year down the line. Auto Industry has not bounced back at all and expected turnaround is only around 2021.

3) Although they will be a little bit more priced, you can at least keep the vehicle for it's full life cycle without threats from NGT of scrapping diesel vehicle in 10 years. After Delhi, definitely Mumbai will be the next target.

The main downside of this is that Kodiaq might not be coming in BS VI diesel avatar as per rumors. But I firmly believe Skoda/VW cannot survive without bigger diesel engines so it will definitely make it by 2021.

That said, if you cannot wait, Kodiaq is an excellent choice. All the best in taking a wise informed decision.

Hi guys have anyone tried mirror link or android auto. My k20 pro phone is unable to connect via the usb. I can connect via Bluetooth or Wifi and take calls, media access and skoda app access. But to use features of mirroring is not possible. Has anyone had luck with this. Some info will be of great help as I am planning to use syngic car app for navigation.

Most probably it is an issue globally with all k20 phones - google once, "k20 pro android auto" and it results a lot of threads. Try XDA forum, some people are saying they got it working with an upgraded ROM.

If you want to check if your car software is fine, just plug any other family member's phones - not k20.

Have been using Apple CarPlay on the Kodiaq and it works seamlessly. Have been able to use Google Maps as well, unlike whats mentioned in the Official Review of this car. Haven't tried Android Auto though. Also, had read somewhere in the Official reviews that one can mirror videos and photos from the phone to the car display through Skoda Media Command, which I haven't been able to figure out so far. If any one has, please let me know how. Thanks in advance.

Yes did try a older model redmi note 3 and Android auto was functional.

I also checked k20 pro is not in list of compatible phones on skoda website.

I feel skoda should have worked its software to work with Android and not specific for phone models. Beacuse in the online list no new models are there.

BTW Is there a app to control air conditioner controls remotely from the back seat.

I have been quoted two 3M workshops, they have quoted 1.5L and 1.65L for the complete car. Ventureshield, self healing PPF.
The area estimated by them is 185sq ft and 200 sq. ft respectively, thereby the difference in total cost.

Still contemplating if it is worth it.. at this price the whole car can be repainted twice..

Not worth getting on the whole car! Just go for some specific areas which are more prone to scratches like the bumpers (painted part only) and maybe the front bonnet if you want.

I don't have any experience with the PPF or ceramic coating etc, but what I think/imagine is, while these may provide protection from the minor scratches, repairing a major dent would be very difficult.

I think repairing a major dent won't be a big difference compared to a car without ceramic coat.

However - I suspect using a regular rubbing compounds (Formula1 etc) will not be much use on ceramic/PPF coated cars. So quite visible scratches that get through the coat that would otherwise be fixed with rubbing - won't be easily fixable... Just my suspicion.

The point of self healing PPF is that you will never need that rubbing/detailing

Only in the event of major dent one would get body panel worked on, which involves removing the PPF for that panel. After that if it is an old vehicle you may think if you want to cover PPF over that portion again, or you can leave it unprotected.

Also, if I had the lava blue model, I would get PPF done. I hate to see swirl marks on that hypnotic colour. If not PPF, I would be standing for hours in detailing shop every quarter.

Of course. But then there are always scratches that are deeper and reach the paint. Even if the ppf seals, the paint would have visible line. Especially those made on corners by rogue bikers.

Rubbing compounds fix quite deep marks.

Guys getting the PPF done as this discussion is going on. I beleive it offer better protection than normal clear coat or ceramic. I had done ceramic at the time of purchase one year back but found swirl marks coming up very soon. Could avoid them. So now am getting the PPF done over cermaic after removing all swirl marks. This will give me no swirl marks as it self heals and also protects from any superficial damages by taking some impact and avoidng direct paint inujury. Ceramic is 2 micron thickness where as PPF is 200 micron in thickness. By the way I am getting HEXIS PPF done at Esperto Bangalore.

Not your fault though, that colour is so good, it makes one fall for it.
I would have done the ppf if I had that colour too.

What’s the price of this HEXIS? Total price for your entire vehicle and price per square feet?
How good is it compared to ventureshield? What’s the time taken to apply?
