Has it been addressed in the newer models ? I have a Ecosport S now and the bolts look exactly the same. I hope it has though !

@ Tarun - Where did you buy the new nuts?
I had got them from one of the shops selling automobile spares. Made sure they were one piece to ensure I don't face the same problem again.

I was referring to Kumar's post and hence my reply. What you did was absolutely right and what was the total price?

Yes, as per the circular dated 13-Feb-2019, from Ford to its Dealers, the exact cut-off VIN for new ‘S’ Premium Cluster with Chrome Rings is MAJAXXMRKAKK37235. The new cluster will be available in Titanium, Titanium+ and Signature along with S trim for Petrol and Diesel both models. Below is the snapshot of that circular.

I have discussed this at Cauvery Ford, Bangalore. According to them, new cluster should be a retrofit on older vehicles, once it will be available as a spare part (not as an accessory) from Ford.

No change in vehicle prices but if older models need to retrofit this cluster, it would cost around 14k INR plus labor.
I was told that the cost is around 18K INR for the cluster alone, but along with this new cluster, PCM (Power Control Module) worth 42K INR needs to be replaced, as the new cluster could not be compatible with present PCM of earlier batches. Though new cluster is a plug and play, but without new PCM, all of its functionality would not work and only speedometer could work. So, total cost will be around 60K INR to have this new cluster.

Though there is no official information from Ford on this yet, and no information can be considered as authentic.

Haven't seen any retail office. May be that's why their premiums are lowest. Anyway, buying online is more convenient. In my case, strangely their own portal was offering only third party insurance for new ecosport. But policybazaar offered first party as well. And the premium was also lower on policybazaar. So Digit customer care guy asked me to buy from policybazaar.

Visited Rudra Ford in the afternoon today to have the wheel arc cladding (they call it eyebrows ) installed.

The process involves
  1. Cleaning the wheel arch
  2. Apply 3m primer
  3. Align the cladding
  4. Press it down firmly.

Here are some images after the installation.

Alexa is already available to use in Sync3 using the Ford+Alexa app. The app is blocked for install in India currently. I have tried it out already by downloading the APK. There is no need for Sync3 to be upgraded for this feature.

Seems, officially with all the features, it will be available from Ford by next year only.

Re: 2018 Ford EcoSport Facelift 1.5L Petrol : Official Review

Yesterday early morning, while coming from Airport, one chipping stone hit the front windshield. Though there is no crack, but a dint has come. From inside the cabin, surface of windshield is still smooth.

Dint is not shown properly in below pic, but shown as a very small white spot.

Just want to understand, what should be the next step? Should I live with it or is there a way to fix it? Should I go for the change of windshield, as it could be harmful in near future? Need expert advise.

Hi Nitesh,

This looks like a small chip off, replacing the whole windshield won't make sense considering the price you'll be paying for it.

If you are interested in repairing it, here's a thread by Anurag which will help you.

We've had a similar ding on our City for around six years now; there's a very minor dip on the outside surface that is isolated. This hasn't spread or gotten bigger despite the car seeing very harsh Gurgaon summer every season. I'd suggest you let it be, monitor it periodically but largely, live with it.

If you absolutely want to fix it, you'd have to replace the windshield: either at A.S.S or places such as Windshield Experts. It's a fairly routine job, nothing to worry.

Is this for automatic?

I recently took a TD of Tata Hexa AT, and that 2 tonnes of vehicle still has a better FE than EcoSport AT 😀. Thanks to diesel.

Get it repaired from Windshield Experts.
Or use a windshield repair kit from amazon:- https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used the kit to repair a similar dent in the windshield of my Grand Vitara. Reapir was done in about 1 hour. I saved replacement of the glass which would have set me back by 35K.
