Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - BS VI on tests,

With the stringent BS6 norms kicking in from April 2020, Maruti has begun road-testing the BS6-compliant Ciaz on Indian roads. The vehicle spotted notably wears the ‘Smart Hybrid’ badging on its boot lid, indicating it will continue with a mild-hybrid setup that consists of an integrated starter generator and a dual-battery setup, just like the current BS4-compliant K15B version on sale.

From the pictures in the above posts, looks like it’s not the same setup as in Verna. One needs to keep their leg under the rear bumper to activate the boot opener.

Hi everyone! We got our Ciaz 1.5 MT Alpha in pearl white in January (2018 MY).

Just a quick note to everyone in the market for one, pls clarify the "standard accessories" issued by the dealer.

We forgot to do so, and ended up with ugly door trims and window visors

Guys, how's the suspension of the Ciaz? I found it to be very soft during my test drives and bottomed out at places where the Vento didn't. Same load (3 adults, 1 baby), same speed and similar angle of approach.

How does it feel at high speeds on the highway? My choice is between the Ciaz 1.5 DDIS and the Vento 1.5TDI. I could drive only upto 120kmph and the Ciaz felt good on straight lines. There were no curves where I could feel the suspension behaviour on high speeds.

We took the test drive of Ciaz petrol and diesel recently.
Suspension is tuned to comfort better in petrol and little stiffer in diesel, but ground clearance is lesser. it scrapes in large speed breakers.
High speed behaviour was not tested but with a small 80KMPH run we found it to be behaving sane

I am considering buying a sedan and was strongly considering the Ciaz. I am looking for an automatic (considering heavy self use) and fuel efficiency (so either a smart hybrid or a diesel).

Can any of the owners throw light on the fuel efficiency they actually achieved in the Auto smart hybrid variant? The company claims 21+ kmpl

We got one about a month ago run 2500kms.
It consistently shows 15.2 on the MID.
Autobox is smooth for light footed lazy driving.
Car is extremely easy to drive.
Legroom and boot space are unmatched.

The cons are-
Pickup not great.
Very flimsy build ( like all new Marutis).
Low roof so its cramped for headroom if you are tall.

Overall good VFM.

BHPian JKDS's Ciaz Alpha petrol automatic returns 13.4-13.7 kmpl in city traffic in Delhi according to the MID. My Ciaz Alpha petrol MT (The Ciazzler® | Our Nexa Blue Maruti-Suzuki Ciaz Petrol (Alpha)) returned between 12.5-14 kmpl when calculated by the tankful method, in Delhi city traffic during the peak summer period. Have got up to 20.7 kmpl on highway once.

No, Isofix cannot be easily retrofitted, since the fixtures are part of the bodyshell and seat. So a retrofit will involve welding on some fixtures, and replacing the rear seat.
