That is GTO's prophesy becoming real once again.

Earlier he said Toyota will slowly engulf suzuki and it's happening now.

I am as perplexed as you are. If I were in the market for a new SUV for >20L and now with the demise of the Storme, this is what I would have picked, had it come with an AWD. A low range gear-box would have been fantastic though AWD will just cut-in.

And all LED set up, those halogens don't just cut in now.

AWD with low range is a distant dream. Look what happened to duster and compass and everything else.

There's no market for it and no ways to justify it.

The Harrier has hid xenon lights which are better than LED.

Re: Tata Harrier : Official Review

So new smaller ORVMs confirmed! That's great news.
I wonder what new teasers they will come up with for the remaining days.

18 inch alloys?
Connected car tech?

Re: Tata Harrier : Official Review

Sorry, my post does not have any value to add to what is being already discussed, but seems like Tata Motors is reading this very thread and asking "Tell me, what else you want".

Almost every wish listed here (besides the 4x4 / AWD) is being addressed. Makes me wonder, why was this product not the one at the original launch?

Re: Tata Harrier : Official Review

Wow, excited for the harrier now. If I had 20 lacs to spend, the updated harrier auto would undoubtedly be my pick. Has almost every feature a customer shopping in this price range would want, along with those killer looks. There are couple more days to launch i think, so I'm wondering what additional features they might showcase.

About the automatic, i think they wanted to avoid sticker shock. Maybe the market was actually matured enough to accept a 23-24 lac tata back then, but I think they did not believe so.

Finally now after all the response ( i do think they're checking team bhp ), they're convinced that there will be buyers.

Better late than never.

Part of the reason why the AWD or 4WD versions have failed in India is because of the insane price gap which the AWD units have. Agreed that there is additional hardware but there needs to be a limit to the premium being charged.

They project a low number beforehand and then price it that much higher to increase their margin per piece and then eventually just do that small number only.

Even if Tbhp is studied, there is a substantial number of people who would be interested in AWD or 4WD vehicles.

The supposed increase in maintenance cost is also not there is case of a 4WD. Heck my storme service costs nearly same as that of a Maruti sedan and less than a VW vento etc.

Now that the major gripes have been addressed, perhaps we can move on to list a few 'nice to have features' that would make the Harrier truly #AboveAll

1) Wireless charging
2) Multi colour mood lighting
3) 360° view camera
4) Larger infotainment display (I think the existing slab with smaller bezels will do)
5) Ventilated seats
6) Folding side step (as displayed on the concept)
7) Wearable Activity Key (Use in-house tech and resources- Fastrack Reflex for hardware and TCS for software)

Many of these features are already available on the competition.

Cheers,
Uday

I think these are the next three to be revealed. I am pretty sure wireless charging will be implemented. Not that there are a lot of users in india who have phones with wireles charging support, but some of the competition have it, so i think they must've thought of the same.
