Re: MG Hector prices increased yet again in February

Oh boy, one more price revision? wonder if that comes with any extra feature addition. I've booked Sharp DCT and now in dilemma since CVT is confirmed to be coming next week (got it confirmed from MG SA, Bangalore). It would be interesting to see what would be CVT driving experience vs DCT and also price point..

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Just got it confirmed from MG SA that CVT is being added to petrol top variants besides existing DCT. Not sure what is the thought here from MG.
I don't remember any other manufacturer having both CVT and DCT on same car model and variants. I really hope MG SA's confirmation turns out to be 'not true'

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

I think the CVT may be a way of improving the on-paper fuel efficiency for the petrol engine. It may also be a bit lighter than the DCT by a few kilos.

It could be either of the two. Haven't seen any similar complaints on the Facebook groups though so could be a one off incident.

Hopefully they do justice to this one.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Has anyone tried booking a Hector in April? After the latest April price hike, are the dealers still charging Handling charges?

I rememebr reading in one of the news articles that the new price includes logistics expenses.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

The latest MG Hector prices in Gurgaon
Key Differences:
1. Rs 5000 extra for dual tone interiors, that too only for select variants
2. Price is now inclusive of Handling Charges (removed from dealer amount)
3. Essential Kit price raised by Rs1000 (didnt know mud flaps and mats also had rising input costs)

The rubber and PVC industry has observed a price hike of 5-6 % since 1st April, so it’s pretty much expected. However, while selling a 2 million valued car, a minor hike could have been absorbed.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Dear Hector Diesel owners,

What's the fuel efficiency you are getting in Hector Diesel and how much does the MG charge for each service?

And, how's the ownership experience with the Hector?

Also, did anyone face the issues with the Hector Diesel?

Asking because we are considering the Hector as the replacement for 10 year old Innova and the Hector seemed to tick the boxes in terms of comfort, ride quality.

1. I'm getting a mileage of 16.5 KMPL overall. My driving mainly involves driving on NH8 and gurgaon Faridabad highway so I get pretty decent numbers. The best I've got on a drive is 20 KMPL and the worst, 14 KMPL, so the Fiat engine's pretty frugal.

I've got the maintenance package 5 years/ 75k kms. In 2019, it was priced at Rs 28k which was quite a steal. The price has been bumped up now.

With that package, I've not paid a penny for any of the services. The last service estimate ( 15k kms) was for Rs 6000 and my bill was 0. Giving my car in for service later this week for the 30k kms service so I'll update regarding that later.

2. The overall experience has been pretty good. Have taken it to the upper reaches of Himachal and Uttarakhand and it's a pretty decent mile cruncher. The space and the features are a big plus. Gotten used to using the voice commands on a daily basis.

3. No issues with the car whatsoever. The reason I chose this variant was the reliability of the Fiat Engine.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Hector owners, seeking your opinion on below points. I will be using the car for mostly city driving with a good amount of potholes. My running is low, around 100-150km per month during Covid times and around 400km a month in normal circumstances.

1. Have you gone for a tyre upgrade or running with stock Goodyears/ Continental? What are the hector-specific tyre options to consider?

2. Based on your ownership experience, what MG Shield plan would you recommend? While Premium will plan offers greater peace of mind, is it an overkill considering my usage?

Any feedback or advice will be of great help.

They replied on Twitter that MG have no plans to launch the Diesel AT in near future.

I have gone through the interview of Rajeev Chaba, as per him petrol is in more demand than of Diesel, therefore, they don't have any plans for Diesel Automatic in the Near Future.

But I suspect that they will soon launch Diesel AT after the launch of Hyundai ALCAZAR Diesel AT(18th June 2021), because MG likes to stay in news at all times.
