Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Took my car for 1 year/15K kms service. Got underbody engine cover installed during the service. Did a short trip to lucknow over the weekend. It was a boring drive, 950 kms of expressway! The only good thing was the FE. Was doing 90-100 kmph mostly with small bursts to 120 kmph. Did not use CC at all. The DHC leds are too good, I have 6200K on high beam and the throw is just amazing!

I see that you got the engine guard installed from Viraj, nice! Its a must have accessory for the Polo.

Where did you get the DHC LED installed at? I was planning to get Philips Ultinon Pro9000 but now read about DHC, which one is better?

I'm using DHC 4300k. Yet to drive it on the highway at night, but in Mumbai usage, I can say its superb. Performance rain is flawless. As mentioned earlier, the only niggle is that when in bumber to bumper traffic and standstill-crawl, the reflection from the vehicle ahead is glaring even in low beam.

For fog, I've gone for GPNE 3000/6000k switchable LEDs.

Now arranging seat covers in Nappa/Softy leather from Saddles India. Then taking a chance with Bilstein B12 kit, and finally Stage 1 remap (Wolf or Code6- yet to decide- advice welcome).

Will post pics and details on the car is all done.

Our very own BHPian Viraat installed them, 4300K on low and 6200k on high.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Celebrated the 6000km mark by going on a short trip to Vatadahosahalli lake, about 100km from Bangalore towards Anantapur. The car, as always, surprises with performance, and I still haven't gotten bored of it one bit! The guest appearance is my dog, Arya, with whom I'll be going on many more trips soon. This is the first of many more to come. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Hi all, why do we not have a TBHP review of the 1.0TSI+AT gearbox combo yet? If anyone is willing to pen down a review of this combo, I'll be happy to lend my car to them in Bangalore.

Doesn't make sense for a car that's out of production now.

I love the TC gearbox though. It has similar jerks when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd as the DSG but rest of the shifts are butter smooth.

How much do the DHC LEDs cost? And how much do the GPNE LEDs cost?

Philips Ultinon Pro9000 cost 7500 a pair, that means for both low beam and high beam it'd cost 15k for a light upgrade. Then there's fog lamp upgrade so I'm trying to figure out the math should I go for the upgrade.

Does Viraat have his own workshop or he's a DIY guy? Sorry I couldn't figure it out from your post.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Clocked close to 900 kms over the weekend. She turned one on 1st of July. We drove to Narkanda from Greater Noida and came back via Chail. Drove her in MT mode in the hills, 1-2-3 uphill and downshifting/using engine breaking 3-2-1 downhill. Out of 900 kms, 545 kms were on XP95.

D1: Plains - 16 kmpl (Auto)
D2, D3: Hills - 13.2 kmpl (Manual mode)
D4: Plains - 16.7 kmpl (Auto)

Any specific reason for choosing DHC over Philips?

4300k colour. I don't think any other brand has this in H7.

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Hi everyone,

Can someone please suggest a plug and play stereo with Android Auto + Apple Carplay for my Polo Comfortline AT. The dealer installed Blaupunkt San Marcos 370 while satisfactory doesn't come with the above and I'm looking for an upgrade.

Thank you so much in advance!

Re: Volkswagen Polo 1.0L TSI : Official Review

Did anyone change the rear wiper blades of the Polo? I have been told by the VW service centre that the cost for the wiper blade alone is RS 1,300 approx.
That's a ripoff!

Any thoughts/suggestions? I couldn't find a good one in Boodmo/Amazon or any other online mediums.

Unless your entire rear wiper assembly is broken, I'd just recommend swapping just the blade with this from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.in/AutoClean-Wipe...=Bajaj%3ABlade

I had ordered this myself and was really easy to release the lock from the OEM blade and replace it with the above wiper.

I have installed Philips Ultinon PRO 9000 H7 for low beam; trust me; this is the best light upgrade you will ever have to do.
