Warranty starts on the date of Invoice of the car. So check your receipt which you have received from the dealer, that should give you the date of warranty start date. Most of the time it will be the same day when they send it for registration, once the full payment is done. So they might fall on the same date.

Starts from the invoice date which is usually a day or two before date of registration. This can be checked on the iRA app.

This is a safety feature coming in many vehicles today so that the car does not move back on a slope/ hill/ flyover from standstill.

Re: 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review

A New find. Wonder if anyone else concurs with this or has faced similar conditions.

I had done 3rd free service with oil change at 8900kms, due to the Long road trip as mentioned earlier by self in my earlier posts on this forum.
Now after completion my trip (totally 4500kms done), the oil lamp has started blinking.

Now as per the User manual,
Quote
"The car is fitted with an oil quality monitoring system, which will request an oil change when necessary. Once the oil quality reaches a threshold, the EMS will ask for an oil change by lighting the Oil Lamp. Depending on driving conditions the oil quality will get deteriorated sooner.
UnQuote

I am in 2 minds, one which says that its quite natural, since the car has been to high altitudes and cold climates, with numerous cold starts and also the engine has been run continuously for upto 15 hours at a stretch. The car was kept on, with the AC running during our comfort halts, and also, during meal halts, as most of the stops, were not pet friendly and we had to leave our dog in the car, with the AC on.

On the other hand, it still is only 4500 kms since the previous oil change.
Is it even possible that engine oil gets degraded so fast, considering that the Oil change interval is 15000kms ??

Further the manual also says, the car can still be run with the Oil lamp blinking, albeit not for too long, as depending on the distance driven without oil change and oil quality reset (which is to be done using the OBD device upon completion of oil change), the engine will go into soft or strong performance reduction mode.
What kind of distances am i looking at, and how much performance reduction will be there.

Any input on the above would be deeply appreciated.

They (ASC) have to reset the oil change reminder in the MID during the servicing, I think it can be done by you as well at home. Oil will not deteriorate so fast.

I tried Prerana motors last week and they were more responsive. Brought the car home for test drive and they answered all the questions I had.

The auto transmission was good and the car behaved well on the rough surfaces. However, I could really feel the weight of the car if you know what I mean. For reference I drive a Creta diesel. In fact I checked the parking brake twice to make sure they aren't engaged. Is this heaviness something others have also experienced?

I also took a drive of Alcazar Petrol and diesel and did not experience this heaviness though they are much smaller engines.

I own a Harrier and I know what you mean. I think it's a combination of a heavier steering and the initial turbo lag.

Hello,

If it's a constant 'red' oil icon (not blinking) then you need to visit the SC as this is an error which needs diagnosis.

As you've mentioned, this is a 'red' oil icon blinking, it is a hard-coded message which appears only as reminder (another reminder - not the one on the MID).
Only the SC can remove this reminder, by connecting V-Connect and resetting this. So carry-on driving and get this reset once near an SC - takes about 5-10minutes maximum.

I own a Safari XZA+ and just completed the 15k service at 13k, and had this reminder flash up at 15.3K - got it reset at the SC (other owners on many of our groups have also faced the same, so dont worry)!

Regards,
Aayush

Re: 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review

Hello Guys ,

Lately after my First Servicing of Harrier XZA + (0) I see frequent disconnection of bluetooth with my mobile phone. They had updated the software for the infotainment system I was told. But before the update it worked flawlessly . Now every day it disconnects after some minutes and then it does not connect at all.

Has anyone faced any similar issue and any resolution?

I had tried factory reset on the odometer via steering wheel , does not look it reset the infotainment system. Does the infotainment system also have a reset or restart option. I can't stop & start my vehicle everytime while driving .

The infotainment has a separate Reset/Restart option. It can be found in the system section of the Settings menu within the infotainment system.

Not sure. The Forced Restart Option has worked for me before. Haven't tried the Reset option myself. Not aware of any hard reset option.

Disconnecting the battery should reset the system, at least in theory. You may want to try that once.

Re: 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review

Would like to hear from owners who have bought these Tata Harrier (genuine/Tata branded) Electrical/electronic accessories:
I usually try to avoid accessories that need additional wiring, but wanted to consider these because of their utility/aesthetic factor:
  • Front parking sensors - are these good, does it connect to the infotainment display unit ? How easy/complex is the wiring?
  • Mood lighting/Ambient lights for in-cabin footwell - are these good and is any wiring required?
  • TPMS - ?
  • ORVM Silhouette projection puddle lamps - ?
