In your car the cruise control is working as per the standard . It’s the same in my Harrier XZA+ too . If you apply brakes cruise control will get cancelled and you have to use the use cruise buttons on the steering wheel to re-engage

Hello,

I own a Safari XZA+ bit assume that the cruise function of both are similar. This is what my manual says about Cruise control. I got my hands on the car just before lockdown, so not yet been able to take it out on a long drive to test these functions myself.

Mine is manual January 20 manufactured car and the cruise control behaves the same way. If I press the brake, it would disengage the cruise control and is resumed on clicking the increase/decrease speed button.

Re: 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review

Got it delivered recently. Overall delivery experience follows.

2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review-img_9028-1.jpeg

I have a 9 year old Skoda Rapid, so, my frame of reference was of then.

A day prior to delivery, I reached the showroom/ stock yard to see the car in person. The expected niggles in the car were visible on closer look (e.g. misaligned boot lid, hood lid, etc.). I pointed these out to the sales rep whose response was "This is how the company delivered, we can't do anything about it". Well, I insisted he gets it fixed prior to delivery to which he agreed. But, I knew he wouldn't do anything about it really. I would perhaps need to get it fixed during the first service in couple months time.

On the day of deliver, I reached the showroom on time they'd asked me to. To my disappointment, nothing was ready. The car was being washed still since the washer hadn't turned up the earlier day apparently. I ignored and thought lets get through with the paperwork. Surprisingly, that also wasn't ready although I had made all the payments the earlier day. The accounts lady hadn't turned up to give the receipts as yet and was running late.

We carried on with delivery formalities, photo op, etc. Then came the painful wait for the paperwork (receipts, approvals, gate pass, etc.) to be sorted out. When I left the place after 2 hours at the showroom, there were still a bunch of things pending with the sales rep. (warranty docs, missing receipts, 2nd key).

I didn't let a lot of this ruin my day really. I let go of them. But one thing I realised is that Tata Motors are a long way away when it comes to customer experience. The lack of professionalism, sheer apathy and total disregard for the time of the customers was disappointing to say the least.

The fit and finish is also a major area of concern for them. In just 5 minutes I could spot so many niggles, I kept wondering, isn't there a quality department that checks these things in Tata Motors?

To be honest, I think I had my expectations lowered to quite an extent, thanks to the recent posts on this thread.

Waiting for the registration to come through and I will take it out for a longer spin. More posts to come soon, positive ones, I hope

Congratulations!

Is this the Automatic or Manual version? I also took the delivery of Harrier XZA in the same color (T. Grey Color) recently, have been able to drive it mostly in the city due to the lockdown. The driving experience with its automatic transmission and good ride quality has been pleasing so far.

The fit and finish is as expected, this is the area where Tata really needs to improve.
I wonder how can a vehicle get QC certificate having so many rough, loose parts? found many upon checking my car and fixed them myself.

Thank you! Congrats to you too. I got an XZA+ in T Grey. I would have gone for the Black but I didn't like few things in the Black edition
1. The greyish dash - I rather liked the normal version wood finish dash.
2. The seat - I preferred the brown leather seats.
3. Alloys - I preferred the normal diamonds cut alloys as against the blackened ones.

If these three were sorted, I would pick the Black edition anyday. However, many people really like the Black edition I know; perhaps just my personal taste.

In the present situation, the dedicated CC OFF button on the steering wheel (the one below the speed adjustment button) has become redundant.
Cruise Control is working as designed . It's the same in any car - Applying brakes cancels the cruise control and you will have to re-engage using the set/speed increase button . This is a safety feature. Without this , in a panic braking situation, the car would start to accelerate as soon as you release the brake pedal .

Are you sure there is a second Smart key ? I took delivery of XT+ Dark April(2021) manufactured car and have received only an emergency key in addition to the Smart key fob.

I took Safari delivery in April and was given just one remote key (PEPS) and 2 mechanical keys. One key will fit inside the remote key and second as spare. The sales executive told me that just one remote key comes with the car.

Today I contacted the dealer's sales manager and complained about not receiving the second smart key fob. He told me that there is a delay in receiving the second key these days (which I really do not believe) and he asked for my invoice copy to arrange for the second smart key.

Assuming Harrier wont be different than safari, then in that case you should get 2 key fobs and 2 mechanical keys.

Yes. The sales rep did mention that the 2nd key is being delayed for almost all customers. We would get it but may take time apparently.

It would still be best to follow up with dealership every week / 2 weeks. They might not deliver this on their own otherwise!

I chose a Camo edition over normal dual tone version exactly because of the above three points. All Black interior looked premium to me because I didn't like the faux wood on the dash. Seat and dash all black was appealing over normal version. Black alloys were drool worthy for me.

Sure. Thats the reason I acknowledged, many people like Black and Camo with these 3 things. It's a matter of personal taste perhaps.

Would love to see some pics of your car. Keeps the interest up.

Re: 2020 Tata Harrier Automatic : Official Review

Got a quick question. Is there any setting to prevent ORVM's folding when car is locked ?

No. Atleast could not find it in the user manual mirrors section.
