Hi Totoro11. These are really impressive figures. Would you mind sharing some more details about these drives, e.g was the drive at constant speed? was the AC on all the time? how many passengers etc.

I find it difficult to get an average of above 18 on the MID for my SX(O) IVT on drives of similar distances even though I am a very sedate driver. (with AC on 22, average speed ranging between 40-60, 3 passengers, moderate traffic, Comfort mode).

Just one clarification, these are individual trip figures and not the overall average. Since the car is in engine break-in period, I keep varying the speeds but yes 40-60 seems to be the sweet spot for better mileage. Load is 2 adults+1child with AC on at 22.5-24. I am trying out both comfort and eco modes and comfort seems to give better FE so far in the city. The first service will be due in some time so I am not keen on measuring FE with the tank full method right now.

Two things you can keep in mind:
1. 6-10% of your car energy is wasted on braking. Plan your driving, step off the accelerator if you know you will have to slow down/stop a few meters ahead (e.g intersections, roundabouts, speed breakers etc) instead of reaching there and braking. Let the car roll and slow down by itself. Since we are used to life in the fast lane, it will feel odd initially but your journey time doesn’t differ much. Waiting for the day when regenerative braking becomes a regular feature in all cars.

2. Every 1 degree increase in temp results in 3-5% less energy consumption by the AC (though this is a home ac power saving tip but I’m sure it will help in car ac too).

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Hey guys, I booked Creta SXO Diesel AT and will prolly get my car this week, can anyone recommend me what all should I keep in mind before taking the delivery besides the TeamBHP PDI checklist.
Has anyone taken insurance from ACKO ? The price difference between ACKO and other brands is nearly 20K and I have recently seen a lot of advertisement from them too.

Quote from ACKO - 38K
Quote from ICICI Lombard - 57K
Quote from HDFC - 54.5K
Quote from Dealer - 55K

Besides this are there any accessories one should get with SXO ?

Congratulations and welcome to the Creta owners club!

The car is packed with features and I am really not sure what to recommend for the topmost version. Suggest that you dont make ANY electric modifications like headlamps / ambient lighting or anything else.

Some people change their tyres from the default JK Royale. I have found them to be pretty decent so far to be honest.

I have tried the full tank method several times and every time the actual FE comes up 1 less than the MID figure. Let us know if you also experience the same.

Congratulations and welcome to the Creta owners club ! You can consider adding 5D/7D mats, dash cam, neck pillows (if you want). Besides the car is loaded with features so nothing else is needed Which color have you chosen ?
PS don't bother with ceramic coating your car. It's a waste of money really. You will be better off detailing the car every 6 months or so.

Please don't try to opt for outside insurance for a brand new creta sxo. Highly suggest you to stick with Hyundai assurance from the dealer even though if it's a couple of thousands more. One headlight of new creta costs 18k! Bumper costs 9K,Parts are extremely expensive in New creta. If in case you have to claim for plastic /rubber parts Hyundai service center will take you for a ride. Stick with dealer insurance for first couple of years.

Full floor mat, Bucket mat, sun film are the only accessories that would be required. Rather than spending money on cosmetics, I recommend swapping the JK tyres with a good pair of Bridgestone /Michelin /continental /Yokohama.

Thank you so much.
Yeah I m not gonna change any electronics in car because that was the sole reason to go for top model.
I feel tyres are fine so wouldn't be changing them too.

I will be getting mats from showroom itself and neck pillows definitely sound good, saw it on one of my friends Creta and they do add comfort. Dashcam has also become a must these days looking forward to get it too.
I am getting the black colour, just like you
I was thinking about ceramic coating but as it doesn't prevent scratches it feels a little useless and ppf is too expensive.
Can you suggest on how to keep the car clean and shinning ? I have already ordered a set of microfibre clothes.

Claims from dealer Insurance are definitely faster but I haven't heard anyone having any claim issues with ICICI and HDFC too.
Aren't sunfilms illegal ? many of my friends have paid challans because of this.
Haven't thought about changing tyres because on our older cars the stock tyres (JK) ran fine for about 40K kms .

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Since yesterday twice I have driven my car and on both instances when I parked and switched off the car, MID display showed check steering wheel lock system. The car was parked on normal leveled surface. Does anyone else has repeatedly got this error? Any solution?

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Dear all,

I’ve a question related to the diesel SX(O) automatic -

Has Hyundai deleted the ventilated seats from this variant in the may 2021 feature rejig? Or is it still there?

A Hyundai SA in my native was saying it’s only available in the top end manual variant

Not sure why he is saying that. It's pretty much there. Mine one is petrol SX(O) manufactured in June. If it is in petrol it will be in diesel as well.

Good color choice mate ! First of all, make peace with the fact that swirl marks will show up on your car (any black painted car rather). Ceramic coating doesn't prevent scratches but it does make the paint glossy and the added protective layer is good I guess. Other than that you can get her detailed every 6 months or so. I've been using ProKlear waterless wash every second weekend. As monsoons are here, I'll probably be washing her once a month. Hey she looks sexy with all the mud over her !
I use Jopasu duster daily to remove dust. If you have time and patience, you can keep the car shining yourself using car care products. For more details please check detailing threads on Team BHP Hope you have covered parking for your creta, this will help preserving color in the long run. And yes I've stopped using car cover after the honey moon period was over

He wasn’t sure about it. Thank you for clearing that up. The sales guy did offer me to take me to their stockyard to verify this but since there’s a lockdown still in my place I don’t want cane marks on my bum The car alloted to me is manufactured on 27-5-2021.

Creta Owners in NCR/Gurgaon

Can you please point me to any reliable accessory stores in Gurgaon for Hyundai. I am looking for an aftermarket Side-step board (Mobis price is 16k), some chrome and a dashcam to be installed.

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

I had some queries for creta owners on the thread:

1. I understand that the first service is mostly an inspection. For your first service, was there any top up required for engine oil or any other part replaced?

2. What is the engine oil used by Hyundai in new vehicles (synthetic or mineral)? I read in the forums that synthetic oil should not be used in the break-in period. Have any of you gone for synthetic oil, if yes then at what duration?

3. The Electronic Parking Brake behaves in an unpredictable manner (or) When i get into the car, EPB shows as engaged. When i get into accessory mode, the EPB indicator is still on. In both the cases, i cannot manually release it. When i start the car and shift out of P, the indicator goes off without me manually releasing the EPB, leading me to worry if i am driving with the parking brake on. Till few days back, it was working normally and i was able to engage and disengage it manually. I can still engage it with the switch but cannot disengage it. Any idea if i'm doing something wrong?
