Such a competent small car so it isn’t a great feat for a 4x4 Thar and having owned both I love both.
Am sure that Nano will be ecstatic that it was treading murky waters in Bangalore with the mighty Thar and lived to tell the tale.

This is most likely a lose or a bad sensor problem. Had the exact same issue on road trip from Shimla to Dehradun.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

I recently got the thar and I’m wondering what everyone is using for securing the tyre stapney. It has a slot for putting a lock in one of the wheel nuts. Is there any other thing that could be done for this?

You can try using a special nut like this

Or a lock type system which will act as a better visual deterrent also.

Option one that is the FARAD NUTS are a better option as it secures all 5 wheels where as the other lock and key option will secure only the stepny.

I am using the FARAD ones and the quality is superb I must say.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

I got my thar in Aug 2022. I got the vehicle only with one key fob. I was told I'll get my 2nd key within 4 months. It's now 9 months and no sign on my 2nd key. I have contacted my dealer. They have no clue. Got in touch with Mahindra customer care. They just loop in the dealer on mail and then nothing happens. I wrote on Mahindra Instagram. Even they replied and said someone wj get in Touch. Nobody did. I've done all the above more than a couple of times. I really do not know what more to do and how to get my 2nd key.

I have only one key to the car now and very worried about what I'll do if I lose it or break it. Any ideas or suggestions of what to do? Does anybody have any higher contact in Mahindra who could help?

Go to the service centre. Buy a remote key and fob. Get the vehicle and key paired and programmed. This way you’ll have two remote keys.

Even had you got your two keys on day 1, one of them would have been a remote key and the other a manual key. So if you had wanted two remote keys you would have anyway had to do the above.

What floor mats are best for the Thar?
Something which stays in place well and can trap dust and debris. Also easy to clean.

This is what I have -

Been 2 years, has served well - the noodle part keeps dirty contained, and hence doesn't require frequent wash of the entire set either.

Got myself a set of Pharaoh Mats. Erstwhile 3d mats. The original ones.

Never looked for another option again.
Infact got myself another set for my next car which hasn't even arrived yet.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Guys, Mahindra did it again silently.

Have observed new Thar’s. See these photos and markings.

Mahindra Thar : Official Review-6de4d4fa05ca43d28e282f90f849fab7.jpeg

See no screw in earlier one which is on the right. Screws on newer one which is on the left.

Mahindra Thar : Official Review-cc01120ac2684dc8a2efaf5e58629584.jpeg

Earlier ones including mine (Jan 2022) came with silicone sealant which isn’t removable. But these latest ones are with screws and if you look closely there is a little gap between rear and front roof which shows that this piece can be removed separately.

Undo these screws including ones which are in interior and there you have your sunroof. When done, screw it back in.

Damn you Mahindra. Had been asking for this since starting. Wish they’d retrofit it somehow in earlier ones.

P.S: Here I have a defective hardtop with recess where water just stays on top without draining anywhere.

This is interesting, thanks for sharing batish. So, Hard top now contains 2 parts? In some of the YouTube videos, I see it as a single part.
