Content, and choice of words. MG is trying to do an attention to detail thing, but missing on better choice of words. MG isn't alone in my opinion, take redmi for an example. On its latest note 10 series, they could have written anything, or even nothing, but they chose to write 'ultra premium' on the camera, instead of AI Camera, or Clearview technology, or even sony sensor, or 64 megapixels, or whatever. Its given that if its an LED headlamp, it will be 'full LED technology' only, and not any halogen element presence or similar.

Thank you for clarifying! I just meant to imply that the choice of words did not seem appropriate. I never meant to say that the very act of placing branding inside the headlight cluster looks cheap.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

MG India has launched a seven-seater Savvy variant of the Gloster, priced at 37.28 (ex-showroom). It is priced same as the six-seater Savvy trim.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

I have test-driven Gloster today in Hyderabad as I want to exchange my beloved Ford Endeavor but came back with a mixed opinion.
First, the interior and features are excellent on the paper but the gearbox is really confusing in City traffic.
It is fine on an empty road.
I wish MG should source 3.2L Engine and Gearbox from Ford and replace them in this car. We will get the best of both worlds.

Wouldn't that be just great! I have 3.2L and was looking for a replacement but the Gloster's engine was really a disappointment. I had booked the Endeavour Sport but with them moving, I have now booked the Legender. Had the Gloster had better engine performance, it would have been definitely a choice for me.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

Agreed, same here. Fortuner doesn't offer any value and features for the price that we pay.
In fact, there is no competition now, MG has a golden chance to find a good alternative to Endeavour. The salesperson told me, there are many Endeavor owners lined up and two of them exchanged with Gloser in the last week.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

Has anyone recently tried the gloster recently? Is the low end grunt improved or it is the same as mentioned in the official review?

If any owner can clarify, it will be of great help

Thanks

I recently took a longish test drive of Gloster and fortuner. In cities the gloster does have a tendency to not downshift when we slow down due to speed breaker or traffic. It downshifts when the pedal is pressed hard. There is some turbo lag for sure. Didn't find it as bad as the reviews mentioned.
Also test drove the fortuner which didn't feel very different from Gloster in the city. Maybe because I currently drive a Linea Tjet and hence both felt the same in terms of driving pleasure.

I recently test drove the Gloster (I haven't driven the 2020 model) and I find that it has enough grunt low down.
In fact, in sports mode, it takes off very well and is a proper cruise-machine.
This car really drove much better than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. Your family will love this vehicle for the space, features and comfort.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

Any news on facelift of Gloster coming in near future?

I am contemplating to sell my 2017 Endeavour but unable to decide what to buy in similar price segment. I took a test drive of Gloster and didn't find any issues with the gearbox as such even 3.2 gearbox was not up to the mark before I remapped the same. Maybe a remap might solve the problem in Gloster as well.

Gloster is quite huge in size and I personally like the side and rear look(without those badges) but the front look is not as imposing as Endeavour. Apart from the looks there are few hit n misses in Gloster like camera quality/resolution is poor, the newly launched Astor has far better 360 camera. Not sure if the camera module can be replaced with a better high resolution unit. Rear seems to be overdone especially with too many chrome badges. The black plastic cladding on front and rear lower body might fade in future.

Few pics comparing the front and side looks:

I checked with the SA in Bangalore. He said there are no plans or news on that. But is there a facelift chance even before completing 2 years from launch ?

After much deliberation and thought, finally bought home the MG Gloster Savy variant in black colour yesterday.
A big thanks to all who made this decision possible.

Re: MG Gloster : Official Review

I have one query.. Is the drive mode setting automatically always on AUTO mode?
Do i need to always select the Eco mode whenever i start driving?
