Yup. Higher variants of the Safari (XZ included) have bi-xenon projectors.
My Harrier has halogen high beams that I swapped out with Phillips Racingvision (also halogen but MUCH better)

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hello

I had booked a Safari XZA+ during the beginning of the month. Last week, I made payments to the extent of the ex-showroom price along with the bank loan portion. Friday, the announcement came that the XZA+ variant comes with ventilated seats. Since my allotted car had already arrived, I asked the dealer to check on this. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have ventilated seats.

The dealer told me that the new model would cost about 20k extra and offered me around 20k in discount for the current one. I was not happy with this, and an option was provided to get a newer model (reluctantly), if I wait. However, a timeline was not given - the discussion was that it will take a couple of months or more. I had waited just under a month for this one to arrive, and wanted to know what’s the current wait period for the Safari XZA+, if any of you have booked it.

Safari has
D5S 12V, 25W xenon HID projector for low beams and
H7 12V, 55W Halogen for High Beams and
H16 12V, 19W for Fog lamps.

I have been searching for a good replacement LEDs with 4200/4300K 30/55W H7 bulbs and 4200/4300K 30W H8/11/16 bulbs.

Most of the branded (Philips and Osram etc.) are having 6000K LED bulbs only. rest of the re-branded ones are from China or Korea and having 4200/4300K LEDs, but not sure about longevity of it though they used to provide 1-2 years replacement warranty.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Hello aks_karthik!
Which variant of the Safari do you have, & what mth / year? Because when we were looking at XZ Safari in Dec 2021, it had both xenon HIDs, LB & HB.

Anyway, you can check Autobahns for your low beams, although I don't think those are 4(2/3)00K. But it's an Indian company with 2Y warranty.
For high beams, would highly recommend looking at first upgrading to a projector setup (incase your Safari has halogens) since LEDs in a reflector setup will just toss light around

Also, I think GPNE has LEDs for your fogs. They can switch colors (warm white, white & one more I think)
You may want to have a look at that as well.

Cheers,
gc

I got Aozoom h7 Led bulb ( 130 W approx output range ) and the light output is far better then the philips oem bulbs. I am planning to get aozoom fog bi-projector or xpmicro fog bi-projector as well in coming days.

130w is too high for 55w OEM setup or not. Hope you have done due diligence before installing it.
How is the heat produce by these bulbs.
Could you please share the URL to check and buy?

Bi-xenon projectors mean that it comes with xenon projectors for low beam and halogen reflectors for the high beam. Similar to old german luxury cars which had 2 seperate lights.

No, bix-eonon means both high beam and low beam through one single projector.

Thats the marketing terms these days for LED 55W , 90W , 130W , its just the output of light not the usual normal bulb wattage terms.

You can contact aozoom via their insta page and they are very responsive, they will ask for your location and based on that they will provide you the offline dealer in your city. There is no online channel for their products.

Also do check out insta link belonging to their dealer with name headlight upgade india based in Gurgaon.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

With Safari XZA+ 6S now getting front and middle row ventilated seats, what is the difference with gold edition apart from the hideous gold theme? Would the difference be only genuine leather seats in Gold edition?

I am afraid dark theme might be too hot for summer days, do not want to go for black color anyways and I don't like the excessive "gold" color in gold edition? With ventilated seats being now available in XZA+ 6S, this model does not seem to miss out much now but still do not understand the big premium for Gold edition!

Ah, you're right. Then the Safari and the Harrier get the normal Xenon or HID headlights since the HID projector is for low beam only with a fixed cutoff shield.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Finally, booked Tata Safari XZA+ #Dark edition 10 days back (just after the launch #Dark) here in Pune. The showroom people said vehicle is available and already allotted on my name, now anxiously waiting for RTO passing and get my hand on it.

Two queries to the experts here:

1. Has anyone opted for side/foot step for Tata Safari considering old aged people?
2. How do you confirm vehicle's manufacturing date before delivery. I received a scanned copy of FORM 22 from showroom guys counter signed on Jan 2022. Is that what will be considered as manufacturing date of vehicle?

Congrats and wish you may happy miles.

You can decode the manufacturing month/date from the VIN number. Refer to the below thread.

1. I have put the side step . It’s useful for elderly definitely. However it does reduce the ground clearance, and you may end up scraping it in deep craters .

2. For manufacturing date , do follow the VIN decoding thread.
I’ll share Safari relevant info here.

Manufacturer: Tata Motors

VIN Characters: 17 (beginning with MAT...)

Decode:

10th character represents the YEAR of Manufacture
12th character represents the MONTH of Manufacture

An Example:

If your 10th VIN character is A, then it represents the Year - 2010
If your 12th VIN character is G, then it represents the Month - July

Month Codes:

A = JAN
B = FEB
C = MAR
D = APR
E = MAY
F = JUN
G = JUL
H = AUG
J = SEP
K = OCT
N = NOV
P = DEC

Year Codes:

A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014
F = 2015
G = 2016
H = 2017
J = 2018
K = 2019
L = 2020
M = 2021
N = 2022
P = 2023
R = 2024
S = 2025
T = 2026
V = 2027
W = 2028
X = 2029
Y = 2030

P.S. The letters "I", "O" and "Q" are never used in a VIN.
