Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

My SA confirmed the arrival of the display vehicle at the dealership. He will update about the TD in a few days. He also confirmed my delivery on 28th February.

Today while checking out altroz turbo i sat inside the safari to have a feel. The last bench felt good to me allover but after looking at the amount of headroom left(i'm 5'7) and the under thigh support available i just thought about a little bit raised last bench.

But manufacturers have to think about every case scenario, so knees up position it is.
If they raise the seat, woudn't they block the rear window completely ? also, they might not have head room since most vehicles have some slope towards the rear or raised floor.

They should have changed the front light cluster. Looks odd with the rest of the vehicle.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Seems like the Safari name has worked very well for TML, it is striking chords with many people, also seems like there's a spike in footfalls at their all showrooms. All they need now is conversion.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I feel the sloping roof towards the back is overdone. While it’s makes the car appear sleeker/smaller was it really needed? I mean it is a 7 seater after all and a butch full fledged look could have worked as well. A straighter roof like land cruiser etc would have freed more head room.

Checked out the 7 seater version today.

It stole my heart. Booking it this weekend.

Thanks for sharing, this looks really nice. If only we can pair with black alloy wheels the car will look absolutely stunning.

Looks good. I may be in a minority, but IMO, the Safari in White and Grey looks classier than in the Blue.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Whoever on TMLs board that had the last minute epiphany of using and reviving the 'Safari' brand deserves an employee of the month certificate and cash voucher!

Cannot imagine the crores TMLs marketing department would Ave had to spend in order to generate such consumer interest.

Now fingers crossed everything else falls into place, maintaining the quality improvements, getting pricing right, positive showroom experience etc etc

They have a winner in their hands!

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I had a look at the Safari today at KEY Motorrs (yes, a double R there for luck) , and it looks like the TAMO engineering team first cracked the third row seating. I was comfortable and my legs are in their natural position (not arching up). The roof light has this sensor jutting out, and that bugged me a bit in the driver's seat. Else everything looks pretty sorted. I'll be taking a TD tomorrow, since there was a longish queue for the same. This single dealership has 60 'pucca' bookings, after the customers took a TD. So expect long waiting periods

Another strong point in favour of Manual over Automatic I believe.

2 kmpl is not to be scoffed at.

Cheers, Doc

That's amazing, the highest ARAI figures for the Safari nameplate in 21 years

Like I had already posted, one can easily expect 15 kmpl from the MT.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

There is this area right at the front (Bumper line), and it had an unusual flex. It's in the way these two parts come together, and there is some gap at the joints. This shouldn't be there. I loved the ORVMs, with their perfect dimensions. And the beautiful blue paint has mature sheen to it, which i tried to capture a bit. Hope its showing.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hi folks just took a short test drive of the new Safari.

From my perspective of having used BRV for last 4 years -

The # 1 issue for me is boot space or the lack of thereof. In BRV its decent and still I struggle whenever travellng with extended family or friends, 2/3 big bags and 2/3 smaller bags are given.

So the only option is roof-carrier but then will loose out on the sun-roof (must-have for my kids) and personally I hate roof-carriers, they spoil the look of the car.

The SA said even with sun-roof, roof-carrier can be fitted! I asked him to recheck.

The # 2 issue is Infotainment screen, the UI wastes 1/2 of the screen as left and right menu cards do not collapse fully and hence the usable part is just the middle half. The brighness, response and screen resolution is decent and hence this issue is still tolerable

Rest of the car is superb, looks stunning, proportionate (important for a BRV owner!), feels solid, material quality, ride quality, engine - transmission, NVH, 3rd row space is pretty good.

However the boot-space is a deal-breaker for me

SA said, top-end on-road would be ~27lacs. That's steep IMO.

So the hunt continues.
