Citroen C5 Aircross Review
(

I called up the dealer in Chennai again and the response this time was impressive. As soon as I mentioned about the offers, he responded that they are offering a cash discount of Rs.2 lakhs. This is all just over a phone call. He said if I opt for finance scheme then cash discount will be barely Rs.50,000 and instead an interest rate of Rs.5.55% per annum plus five year maintenance and Road-side assistance package is complimentary. Do you all think that it is a car worth buying say if I am able to negotiate it further down say by another lakh.

I do see some value add if you get down by a Lakh. Given 5 year maintenance is included in price it worth to negotiate extended warranty also.
C5 prices have increased by almost 1 lakh in past 3 months alone. These discounts are more or less negating the price hike.
What is the current on road price? I would also suggest if your state of residence has started BH registration then the upfront cost will be much more palatable. If not in a hurry better to wait for December. Above that it is purely heart over head decision :)
Apparently a steep hike to the C5. I don’t know what the folks at Stellantis are smoking. Someone in senior management has realised that despite their best efforts and pricing gaffe, some units of the C5 are still selling. He has immediately announced a price hike to reverse this travesty.

Within a year of having been on sale here, the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV has received a huge price hike. Introduced in India this April as Citroen’s maiden offering for our market, the Citroen C5 Aircross was launched at an introductory starting price of Rs 29.90 lakh for the base ‘Feel’ variant, and Rs 31.90 lakh for the fully-loaded ‘Shine’ variant. Now, a little over six months on, Citroen has revised prices of its Jeep Compass rival by as much as Rs 1.90 lakh, which makes the base variant nearly as expensive as the top-spec trim was at launch.
Thanks to the price revision, the Citroen C5 Aircross Feel now costs Rs 31.80 lakh, while the Citroen C5 Aircross Shine is priced at Rs 32.80 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), which makes it around Rs 90,000 pricier than it was at launch, and brings the difference in prices of the two variants down to just Rs 1 lakh, which is fitting considering the Feel is nearly as well-equipped as the Shine. |

Just hope the folks at VW are not looking at this and thinking let's do what Citroën is doing and ruin the Tiguan pricing

I’m more worried about what this might mean for the Commander (Meridian) pricing. That’s the one I am genuinely interested in from Stellantis.

Jeep always has positioned themselves as premium brand and priced products in similar way. Pricing between C5 and Meridian will be interesting. C5 being a CKD and Meridian likely to be produced in the India plant. which will mean Meridian will have advantage of lower tax. Will this be passed to customers?
There are hardly any products in the segment, between Fortuner & MG Golster there is a sweet spot. Jeep might shoot the sky and end up pitting Top end Meridian near to Fortuner Top end.
Unlike Jeep compass where there is no segment competition, Toyota Fortuner is a leader in the segment and has a wide market following. Few tried to challenge it but none even came close to challenge it. Interesting times ahead.
Any recent Hyderabad experiences for C5? The dealership in Hyd is with Pride - which also has Honda and Jeep / JLR. That makes me marginally happy as my experience with Pride Honda has been very good. However, the pricelist still shows 11k as 'handling charges'!

I haven't bought the car but the dealership pre sales experience has been very positive at Hyderabad showroom. Both Sales Advisor and Sales Manager were pro active and transparent about the entire deal and discounts on offer. Can't comment on post sale experience but seems there will be another dealership opening soon at Hayathnagar, this will cater to other end of the city. On handling charges it is very common again at all dealerships in the city. Check any latest vehicle you will not find a price list without exorbitant handling charges.
This vehicles is for the :loveit of heart and with deep pockets rather than the head. Go for it if you can:Cheering:
Thanks @CircleOfLife. That's very helpful. My test was smooth and professional. Now I'm back to drawing board on pros/cons comparisons. If anyone here is considering C5 from Hyderabad, please do ping me - we can exchange notes :)

Going by the success Jeep has got by the facelifted Compass, even with its expensive pricing, it won't be surprising to see the Meridian competing with the lower variants of the Fortuner. To be honest even I'm quite surprised by the number of the facelifted Compass S variants I'm seeing on the road, didn't think there would be that many takers at its high price.
The price hike is bananas. I haven't seen one C5 in Pune as yet. I met the sales staff at a display booth setup in a local mall. Super arrogant and not willing to even listen to the customer. All he had to say over and over again was that they sell ~100 cars every month and no other 38L car sells that much in India rl:. This kind of an attitude is sure fire recipe for disaster! The French class, charm and flair has been completely destroyed by the dealer.
Thats the end of C5. Seriously! They went to the extend of social media challenge to spot C5 on road ( that rare it is ) and now got the wrong notion that consumers in India already consider it as a premium segment car ( we know them barely ).
I guess they couldn't meet the demand of all 72 units a month hence this is a critical price correction to match supply and demand.
Go ahead, hike the price. Then perhaps your dealers will force themselves to sell it at a discount, and I'll finally get to see one on the road after all these months of being on sale!
I have literally never seen this car on the streets. Not even in the metro cities like New Delhi or Mumbai
Citroen has hiked prices for its C5 Aircross SUV by up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Launched in April this year, the C5 Aircross was introduced in two variants, Feel and Shine, with introductory pricing.
Feel variant prices up by Rs 1.40 lakh
Top-spec Shine variant hiked by Rs 90,000
