Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Has anyone managed to get rid off the 80/120 kmph speed alarm in 2021 Fortuner?
I was driving it the other day and I felt the speed alarm is way louder than some other cars.

P.S - Just asking for my info and not advocating over-speeding to anybody.

My sales guy warned against fiddling with the speed alarm, fixing it can cost 5 to 6 lakhs as per him. I have learned to live with the buzz by increasing the music volume

Isn't there an option to disable the alarm?

No. It is a mandate for all BS6 vehicles. Disabling it would be considered an offence.

Yes, it is an offence in first place. There might be hacks available, but I heard it is tough to do in a Fortuner.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Asking for a friend who owns a 2021 Fortuner AT 4*4

His car has done ~1,000Km and has been first serviced for one month at Toyota.

We have planned a longish round trip from Hyderabad to Manali and some other higher passes (if not snow blocked) in December

Will like to understand on the DPF issues for Fortuner ? Till now his car hasn't run an automatic regeneration.
When should that be manually regenerated ?
Can someone point out which is the switch for manual regeneration in an Automatic Fortuner?

Thanks

That's surprising, in my case, driven around 4K so far, same 4x4 AT, regeneration at least one time in 350km. I have made 3-4 Delhi to Chandigarh trips and this auto regeneration happened every single time on the way.At least shown as notification on the digital console.

He has driven till now only in Eco mode and never exceeded 80. Also a large parts of the 1,000 Km has been on highways and Outer Ring Road.

Can you please point at manual regeneration switch ?

Never used, and hence not sure. There is a button on the right . Going by Toyota experience, should instruct you well even if it is not the right one.

That's indeed surprising. Even at highway drives, auto regen happens every 250-400KM . Regen can be seen in MID and lasts for about 15KM. In my 10K KM so far, haven't used manual regen.

thank you. it might be possible that it would have happened and he didn't notice it.

Nothing surprising, he doesn't even know where the regeneration switch is, which means he hasn't read the manual. High likelihood that the DPF recharge happened and he would not have noticed it

I feel that the Legender should have gotten 4x4 as standard. That would do justice to the name. It's still selling pretty well though, so now Toyota will feel that it doesn't have to give it now as well.
