Exactly the same case as mine, except the 4x4 part, mine is 4x2. Got my Fortuner in Jul this year, even I had Honda City petrol. I could relate to everything that you have mentioned.

Also, which dashcam are you planning to buy? Through a dealer or open market? Any consideration for Toyota’s warranty void policy?

Thank you so much . Wishing you many happy miles too.
Coming from Honda City, this is such a relief when it comes to GC and all the overheads involved in doing the homework for a trip w.r.t roads.

Haven't really checked the Dashcam due to workload but will probably get a simple one just for the purpose of recording/proof in case of eventualities. am thinking I'l just use the 12V socket, not cut/route wires for the dashcam and that should take care of the warranty aspects. I will mostly buy from open market.

That's so true. I have myself seen "Lord" Alto smashing ice and sludge with ease in Zanskar valley

Thank you. Did a thorough test drive and found the Fortuner to be way more comfortable than the Thar, almost having a magic carpet ride

My wife definitely enjoyed the attention she got while driving the Thar , but wanted to get out as soon as possible given the bumpy ride quality

Thank you both, agree that the Fortuner is much more comfortable. Have sold the Thar and booked the Fortuner 4x4 AT, the wait begins now. It has been a tough decision buying a Diesel vehicle given all the uncertainty in NCR, but sadly there isn't any capable and reliable petrol 4x4 in the market right now

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

Installed JK treel TPMS on Toyota Fortuner. Bought it from Flipkart. Four units cost was aroud 1700/-
2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review-photo_20231004-21.50.29.jpeg

w/o any warranty , as mentioned in the box
2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review-photo_20231004-21.50.21.jpeg

and fitting charges was 400/-

projections on android auto (some device wont support it, contact JK treel team).
2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review-photo_20231004-22.11.21.jpeg

Wheel balancing is recommended after the installation. I was wondering how much profit Toyota is gaining, by shredding factory fitted TPMS on their 40Lakh + vehicle. (it as available as an accessory for 6000/-).

I dropped the plan to install auto folding mirror function accessory as it would require to open the electrical stuffs on the driver side panel control. Also, I am considering for a basic audio upgradation with all door damping without any subwoofer and preferably without any amplifier reason being the same , want minimal electrical/wiring stuffs and I want to keep the vehicle in stock as much as possible. Morel Maximo MKII and JL audio C1 is among the first choice. Better suggestion/guidance (if any) from fellow BHP members are most welcomed.
Meanwhile Fortuner clocked 9200km, and 10000km/2nd Service service with a short term review is on the way.

It's actually baffling how cheap they can be while selling a half-a-crore- vehicle. I love the reliability and robust mechanicals, but the vehicle lacks so many things that are just critical at this price point.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

The Fortuner gets another hefty hike of 70000 across variants. 4x4 AT variant ex showroom now is 42.3L.

Feeling so lucky to have taken the delivery last weekend. Sad news for those waiting to take delivery in the auspicious period starting Oct 15.

I would recommend Sensairy TPMS any day over the others. I have been using them in my cars for 10 years plus now and must say are well built and are a life saving equipment on any car. Comes with good warranty and great after sales service too.

Here is the purchase link https://www.flipkart.com/jk-treel-fo...4BPGMFJDXQ6REY
1. Please note, this pack has individual units, hence no warranty on this. If you want warranty, then please purchase set of 4 @ cost of 5000/-(approx) from JK Treel official website. You can also purchase the display unit @ 2500/-. But in my opinion, this single unit @ cost of 450/- is also a great deal, if it works, ok ; if doesnt then throw away and buy another. Buy from the seller - the reliable company (no promotion) on flipkart.
2. Visit those tyre shop, which has prior experience of installing it. I got it installed from the Highway Tyre, ring road Raipur. Prior to installation, download the JK Treel app, and scan all the TPMS QR code, you can number them as per the tyre position where it gonna installed. Here is how it fits (pic from my Dzire wheel while installing, i had number RL for Rear Left on that particular TPMS)
2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review-photo_20231012-12.21.02.jpeg

Please be attentive while installation, one incident I want to share, one XUV700 owner had come that day (you can see in my post that XUV beside my Fortuner), he was sitting in AC lounge while TPMS installation was going on, what mechanic did was they put extra torque while tightening the TPMS nozzle, rubber washer (below rim) got screwed and air started leaking (rubber washer which sits just below the alloy rim - in my pic). He had bought the unit which had warranty from amazon, he was tensed, had conversation with customer care guy, reply from another side was " sir, rubber ki koi warranty nahi hoti " . So, please be attentive.
3. Wheel balancing is must.

I got this notification on the official JK Treel Smart tyre app.
2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review-photo_20231012-17.53.32.jpeg

Put your enquiry on whatsapp on any of the number provided above regarding how to enable the TPMS app on android auto and they will assist you. In my case, they called me within 20sec and sent me a pdf and an app (version 4.2.0) which I installed and its working. Don't forget to disable auto update on play store.

[.
I had asked about TPMS during the first service of my Fortuner, the service centre guy told me that Toyota was providing TPMS earlier but then stopped due to customer complaints.

Not sure if external TPMS will help in such case, each one has it's pros and cons.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender & Facelift Review

I was at the Toyota dealership yesterday and they confirmed that with the recent price hike, 9 JBL speakers are back in both Fortuner and Legender.
