Thank you for sharing the ownership experience.

Wanted to understand how is the compass suspension in comparison to Octavia new soft suspensions. I assume Jeep's suspension would be stiffer comparison to Octy.
Albeit compass is an SUV, yet it's stay quite planted on corners and assuming it's suspension does play a role in that. How does the new Octavia fair in the corners?

I have not had the chance to drive compass on corners enough to comment on its dynamics to be honest but with whatever little experience I had , It was stiff enough for my Co-Passenger’s comfort.

If I were to rate previous Octavia’s cornering ability at 10, newer one would be 8.5. Having said that, it isn’t unnerving at all on most cornering angles and speed - though subjective but I am giving inferences from the same patch of roads with similar speeds on MK3 octavia.

On a different note , I sometimes feel that my Polo’s (GT Tsi) cornering was a tad bit better. I can be wrong but it’s just a feeling I get sometimes.

Agree with it. After extensively driving, here are my observations on cornering stability.

Polo > Octavia (2015) > Octavia NX (Current gen)

Practicality in practice, while transporting a 3.5 ft long soundbar (not an upgrade for the car:D)

Shorter the wheelbase, better the cornering

Did anyone get a chance to put Tyre spacers? I am planning to add them soon along with Borla exhaust from REVO mumbai. Any guidance or help will be much appreciated.

I am also facing the issue of intermittent jerks. It also appears at any random rpm. I started having this issue after that chip in gear selector was replaced under warranty. It was very prominent when I was on XP95, then I switched to Shell VPower and it is lesser now but still there. Also some issue with suspension and the ride wobbles since that service. I am using Nitrogen now but still same issue. Any of you replaced the chip and started facing issues?

Mine is MY22, I haven't replaced the selector chip yet. I faced this issue.

Based on the replies from BHPians, what is feel is that not all outlets will have fresh XP95 in stock, some may be older inventory and might be a cause for this (This is just my speculation). Before this issue occurred, I refuelled with XP5 at a highway, way outside city limits and not from the regular fuel station i used to refill.

So i have decided not to refill with 95 octane at remote outlets and stick to regular fuel if I have to refill in rural areas. We can opt for high-octane fuel at some reputed outlets (COCO, outlets in city limits )

Precisely what I thought as well. I have not faced this in my 3K running post that incident. XP95 is not a popular choice so chances are the fuel might get contaminated as it gets old or the issue was with this specific bunk's tank and stock.

Anyone knows what’s the warranty on the battery? My car shows a resting voltage of 12.4 as opposed 12.6 normal. The car is a May 2022 purchase with 20k on the odo as of now.

I’ve replaced the gear selector chip at 7k kms. Car is now at 20k kms. No jerks observed. Yours maybe an issue with the fuel. Try another bunk with 95 and check results. On my recent road trip, I had trouble finding 95 so topped up with V power. I hated the way the engine felt. The minimum recommended octane for this engine is 95. I’d suggest you stick to that and use regular 91 only as a last resort.

Why are you looking for spacers? Cosmetics? Wider rims and tyres maybe a better option than spacers. For the kind of money you are willing to spend, I’d suggest you start with Bilstein B6 and then see if you really want to indulge further. As for all the mods you mentioned, you can kiss your warranty goodbye :D

Fully agree. I have a polo 1L TSI in my garage. She runs on 195 section conti’s and Bilstein B6 suspensions. The car handles like it runs on rails ;) The Octavia in its stock form is tuned for comfort but it’s surely no slouch either. It handles well up to 140 kmph, beyond that, the suspension does not cope as well as I’d like it to. That being said, how often do you find your self north of 140 kmph anyways :thumbs up

I did contemplate the variables of putting spacers after I had put the post here and with whatever little research I did, I agree with you completely. A better alloy with tyres will make more sense reliability and driveability wise.
As far as bilstein B6 go, not really looking for a suspension overhaul at the moment but will definitely be on the cards in distant future.
Appreciate the heads-up around warranty though - will steer clear of any such mods at the moment. :)

Was there a reason you had to replace the gear selector chip.
Any issues during gear shifts that prompted it ?

I got a drive system error on the infotainment. Car behaved normally during that period. It’s during that visit that the SA told me this was a known issue and ordered the parts.
