If it's registered, there is no issue in transfer of registration.

BS6.2 is applicable for registration of new cars sold from April, 2023.

Did you purchase the insurance from the dealership? What was the insurance amount including zero depreciation for 1st year ?
In some Mumbai dealerships discounts upto 1 lacs is possible. Not beyond that.

Yes. 95k.

Insurance is not the key source of discount. They give cash discounts on exshowroom. 1L discount is not bad.

Thank you, i felt the same, but wanted to confirm on larger forum.

Upon research, This seems to be a module placed inside IRVM , adjacent to rain sensors that takes care of matrix functions. Seems like a retrofit, i have enquired the details and will share once i have some concrete information.

Note : This is custom fit and each 3M showroom can cut them differently. It completely depends on your installer. If you have some 3D mats installed, you can have the installer to cut the 3M mats for the footwell area alone.

Though it doesn't fit snug like other 3D/4D mats, they very well serve the purpose and last long (I put these on my polo on 2014 and still holds good without any degradation of quality due to wear and tear)

You have to put them directly on the floor and the mat will grip through the friction from the upholstery. If you have full PVC mats installed already, then this mat will be slippery and you need to use something(either a fastner/velcro) that puts the mats in place.

My review - I never used a full mat on my previous vehicle and these mats (3M nomad) took all the spills like Water, coffee, mud, stones from the vehicle and it didnot seep to the upholstery. These can be cleaned and washed and unlike Noodle mats of other brands, these mats are softer even after using it for 9 years.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

Dear fellow Octavia owners,
I am trying to pair 2 Mobile devices to my Octavia.
Was thinking of using 1 mobile as Source for GMaps, and the other one as a Bluetooth source just to play music.

However when I tried to pair the second device, the Infotainment prompted whether I use Android auto which I selected No.
But when I try to stream music in this device, it doesn't play in the car Infotainment.

So, I tried to enable Android auto connectivity on the second device as well, but this time, GMaps is also shown from this phone which I can understand.

In the Settings I tried to enable AA for the first phone and music icon for the second as shown in the screen shot, but still music doesn't get streamed from the second phone.

Do you know if this is possible and how to achieve it.
Thanks.

Someone had posted about this issue and the gentleman got a replacement for the same. Supposedly a known issue. God knows why Skoda waits for someone to have this failure. Instead they can recall and get this done to avoid any hassles.

Thought this would have been fixed in the latest generation. I still get this on the MkIII Octavia intermittently. Nothing serious. It is due to a chip in the gear selector mechanism.
On the latest gen, this could be as simple as a bug in the infotainment system given the gear selection is by wire.

Welcome to an "After Zac Hollis" world.

No one to tweet to, no one to seek help from. At the mercy of dealerships. The Skoda apocalypse is upon us.

But wait, isn't this how it should normally be?! Why do we need a vigilante.

On a more serious note, the key topic Skoda India needs to officially address, specifically for Octavia 2.0 TSI owners - E20 compatibility. And the ramifications of filling E20 on reliability/vehicle warranty.

I have had this on my 2022 car. Chip failure inside the gb. Part cost around 22k and will be replaced under warranty. You can drive the car to the ASS. Happened around the 5k mark. Car is at 15k now. No issues since. I hope this helps.

Indeed.

Also I hope someone in the Govt would have brain to make sure to continue E10 for another 5-8 years looking at the no of vehicles still only E10 compatible. I would not mind paying 5-10/- extra to have E10 rather than waiting for my car to fail on me. Not sure if Skoda has spent time to identify changes required for E20. Given Skoda-VW share a lot of parts, changes in A4-Superb-Octy-Kodiaq would help each other on parts sharing for E20.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

I bought service maintenance package today @ 50K.

Although I have already purchased it, wanted to check with you guys about servicing cost in Bangalore for 1st or 2nd service, to see if I made the right decision. I am assuming if I have package, they would not mention the actual cost of service, hence my question.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

It seems that the Octavia is still available for booking online. When enquired with a dealer he says they are not accepting bookings anymore. Anyone have an idea what the real status is?

Both Skoda Octavia and Superb are being discontinued from 01 April 2023 since they will not be complying with BS6.2 norms.
