Mine is the same model and variant. Bought in April 2022 and run 50,000kms. Still on the original brake pads.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

I have 2022 July model Alcazar 2.0 Signature Automatic. 3rd service was done in this June, and everything was absolutely fine with the car.

I use Alcazar for highway runs only. This morning, I started the car for going to Chandigarh. It started normally but soon I realized that the car was shaking. Not very aggressively but it was clearly noticeable shake. I thought may be because I'd started the car after many days that's why this vibration is there, and it will go away once the engine has warmed up. I started driving and it continued to shake / vibrate while driving. After 2 minutes that check engine light also came up. I turned back to home and drove slowly and parked the car. The vibration was still there but the check engine light was not on. I parked Alcazar and continued my journey on Exter.

I will contact the service center once I'm back in Delhi.

What could be the reason behind this? anybody else faced this issue? what was the root cause?

Difficult to say but since your car was parked for long period, I am suspecting rat chewing some wires. Did you check under the hood and found anything unusual?

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

Had similar experience with my Verna Petrol, you can make out the non firing cylinders by listening to the exhaust. It was due to rats chewing on 2 of 4 injector wires. A.S.S suggested for replacing the wiring kit, but managed to fix it without replacement.

I visited the service center yesterday with Alcazar. The SC is just a 2km drive from home. I started the car to go to the SC and it started normally. I noticed no shake / vibration. I pressed accelerator to check if the vibration is there on high RPM but nothing. I put the car into D mode and started to crawl. No vibration. I accelerated and still no vibration. Reached SC without any problem in the car.
Parked the car and met Advisor. The laptop was connected to the OBD port for scanning for error codes but there were none. They took a test drive and no problem at all. Checked the engine bay for rat bites and could not find any.
So, after all this exercise, the car was returned to me without doing anything.
I took longer route to home on the way back and still no problem.
Took it to Manesar today for 100km up down drive and everything went fine.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

I have been in the market for the past 2-3 months, looking for a new car to replace my 2016 Duster. Since my running is mostly city with a 300km round trip once every 2 months, diesels are a big no. I was looking at the XUV700 Petrol, but reliability issues with the engine, plus low mileage, forced me to look somewhere else.

I zeroed in on the Creta NA Petrol S(O) variant, but now, with the launch of the Alcazar facelift, I am confused. I planned on shelling out 17 lac on the road, and Creta S(O) with all the bells and whistles I wanted (coming from Duster with bland interiors) made all sense. Now, the Alcazar Executive Base Model is launched at around 17.3 lac with minor missing items, but I can get a bigger, better car almost at the same price.

I should be booking one of these during Navratas, with an aim to buy around Diwali. Please suggest which one to go to and why.

Is 6/7 seater a must for you? Don't know your exact requirement but if you are ok with lesser features then I'd say having a bigger car (Alcazar) is better. You can make use of 3rd row for occasional passengers or use it as bigger boot with 4-5 people on-board.

6/7 seater is not a must but provides more convenience in terms of seating and luggage carrying. Only consideration while zeroing on Hyundai was that I am getting the maximum value for money keeping safety in mind and definitely engine reliability in new age Hyundais'.

I will be visiting atleast 2-3 nearby showrooms over the weekends and then try to get the best quote. Insurance from dealer looks to me the biggest scam. Once one of the SA went to lengths suggesting that their insurance tie-ups know everything about car like sensors, how they work, etc so you can get claim easily while if you take from outside, they will not know much about the car, hence avoid.

Any other point to keep in mind while negotiating. I know it will be tough considering both, Creta and Alcazar are selling or new, respectively.

You can't go wrong with either of the 2

In terms of negotiations, Hyundai dealers play hardball for Creta and now with new Alcazar, they won't offer any discounts on that either. Best you can try is to negotiate on insurance as that's one area where dealer inflate quotes. During my Creta purchase couple of years ago, I had to put my foot down to buy insurance on my own (which was 30k cheaper than dealer's quote and from same insurance company with same add-ons). Other than that, there is not much room since both these models are popular/fresh arrivals.

I got the car examined in Trident Hyundai Whitefield today. The SA said the scratch marks are due to scoring of brake discs, it's not unusual, can happen due to dirt/sand getting stuck between the disc & brake pad. He checked the brake performance with me in a test drive and said all is well. The brake pads can last another 3000 km is what he said. Not sure when brake pads come up for replacement, whether they will recommend changing brake discs as well.
