Thanks for your guidance. Over the last week, I got the windshield replaced at Skoda Kurla workshop. While the whole process was slow to start with (due to year end leaves), ultimately the Service Advisor managed to do a good job with the repair. Here are few pointers regarding my windshield replacement experience :

• On further investigation the crack seems to have originated under the wiper. The wiper also showed signs of something falling on it although the wiper was not damaged. Hence, the workshop claimed insurance. My insurance provider is Zurich Kotak.
• As per the Service Advisor he has seen many similar cases of cracks arising on the windhshield over the past month. With these cases, the reason has been that the owners/car cleaners were careless with pushing the heavy wiper back on the windshield each morning and damaging it ultimately over time. Even I have not been careful with this as I have historically owned only entry level Maruti cars, where wipers are always ultra light due to cost cutting.
• The insurance claim process was quick and seamless. Out of the 18k approx invoice, Insurance paid 16k while I had to pay 2k. I have zero dep insurance.
• The FastTag had to be replaced. At time of car purchase, I had received an IDBI bank/Park+ Fastag from the car dealer. It was easy to order a replacement tag online which arrived in two days. After that, it took two more days to get the tag activated with multiple follow-ups.
• I am still not able to find a way to order replacement HSRP sticker. I am not even sure if it is mandatory to affix this again in Maharashtra or other parts of India. It will be great if anyone with prior experience can throw some light here.

SA blamed the Skoda only stating "Some cars as Kushaq and Slavia came from Skoda like this. So, we had to fix it when those problems appears." Free of cost, no penny spent.

It is valid for 3 years from the date of invoicing.

My Kushaq was in service center for a running repair. During this repair, SA said the key fob battery low error came up and requested to get it changed. I gave a go ahead the battery was changed with a new one and costed Rs.287.

When tried to start the car after ~5 days of delivery, the car wouldn't unlock. Quick call with ASC and they said the car's main battery would've drained. They also said that Skoda has sent out an advisory to start Skoda cars at least once every 2 days during winter season to avoid battery drain issues. I wasn't in the mood for funny comebacks though.

With no much help from them other than asking me to get the car to ASC, we were able to identify the issue with the key fob. The spare key, which wasn't used since we got the car helped us start and run manually. The key was pushing radio signal but the car wasn't receiving it.

So the new 5-6 day old battery in the key fob failed and along with it, somehow interfered with the coding as well making the car confused.

The first step these untrained ASC guys did was interchange the battery between the keys and made it worse. And they did it multiple times leading to not having a trace of which came from which. Now both keys went kaput.

Then came the gyan sessions. We were given tips to maintain the keys properly by not letting water inside, not keeping hard things on top of keys and many more.

One SA says the battery that came with the new car (Panasonic branded battery) was fake and not an OE part and this made the issue. This made me furious. You can be ignorant of how things work and what is there and what is not. But don't throw your ignorance at the customers and make the situation worse.

Their uninformed and ill-trained work force make us dread the decision of buying a Skoda. After a long conversation, both batteries were replaced and both key fobs reconfigured.

The same issue happened again 3 days after delivery and the keys stopped working again. We were now using our state of the art 2021 manufactured car like a car from 1990s using the key manually.

They were clueless on why this happens and what to do. The car was already with them for 4 days impacting our daily work. They did not provide a back-up car aswell for the problems they caused.

I was forced to give the car back to them and they wanted it for 2 more days to sort it out. Seemingly they updated a new software and forgot that the car needs to be delivered.

Next day, when we called the SA says thanks for reminding and then goes to verify the status. We now have the car under observation as always. This is a car from first batch of production and I'm sure this is a test car for all the issues they face. They also damaged one of the blind spot mirrors and failed to replace it while cleaning.

Dreading the decision of buying this and also of the ever fast depreciating cost of this car. In the last 2 months, the car has been in service center for almost 12 days and this shows the poor workmanship and lack of knowledgeable workforce available with Skoda. An another similar experience is coming up in the next post soon.

Not sure why they messed up such a simple task and how this could happen. I got the low battery message on my Slavias keys one after the other two months ago and I replaced it myself with a Panasonic 2032. Didnt have to go through any special process. I believe they have messed with the quality or the age of the replacement battery. And that battery isnt worth paying 287 rupees to the service center. I remember getting half a dozen batteries for that price.

Which ASC was this? I've been taking mine to PPS Mysore road and have had nothing but positive experiences there.

This is Aura, Tirunelveli. Positive experiences are only during yearly service which is fairly standard steps. If it is a running repair, which my car has numerous ones, it is clearly a headache. You give them something new to think about, they mess up. Some of these early running services are root causes for current issues. Poor workmanship and practices are clearly hurting me.

I agree. Mine was already in the service center for couple of days for another repair and i just wanted to get it back so bad. I agreed to get it changed and proves to be a bad decision :Frustrati

Skoda telematics now available in the MySkoda plus app. Live vehicle data, location etc now available in the native app (see below, app showing data for my Kushaq). Found the user interface better than the MySkoda ConnectED app.
So does this mean we no longer need the MySkoda ConnectED app ?

Hello Fellow Bhpians :),

I own a Skoda Kushaq 1.5TSI (DSG) which I bought in the November of 2021. The car has done a duty of around 51000 Kms till now and has been my perfect partner for long and short Journeys.

Except for a steering rack column replacement (under warranty) there have been no other major repairs done on the car till now. Recently I have been feeling that the opening the rear boot feels heavy, and the boot goes only upto 90 degrees after which I have to push it up with force. Also, closing the lid feels scarier as it feels that the boot is closing much faster than before.

Just wondering if it's time I replace these boot struts and if so, should I ask the service center to do this under warranty since I have heard that the boot struts are meant to last atleast 5-10 years under heavy usage. If not, How much do you think I need to shell out to get the pair replaced ?

You should definitely ask them to root cause it and fix it. You should push for a warranty repair as well. Most probably it's the struts.

Need some feedback from folks driving 1.0 MT Kushaq in Bangalore's (or any other metro) notorious traffic - how's the experience? Is it manageable in b2b traffic with kushaq's longer clutch travel and gear ratio combo? I am in convo with someone selling their 1.0 MT at a great price hence the query. Thanks in advance.

You need to take the vehicle for longer test ride, especially in dense traffic and open sections to better understand it. As per my observations the clutch is slightly stiff, springy in action and with long travel when compared to Maruti or Honda.

Now the experience part:
The vehicle has a sudden surge of power as you move from standstill, which is unlike a 1000cc NA engine but it tapers off as the revvs climb, at 2000 rpm when the turbo kicks in, you are back in the power band (fun zone). If you are a sedate driver, city traffic can be managed but closings gaps will need you to work the gearbox. Out on highway, if you are in right gear and near tubro range, it will be fun to not downshift while over taking. Kushaq sits at ~2000rpm in 6th gear at ~100kmph ;).

Off Topic: The built and driving dynamics will spoil you, also the seats are simply awesome, IMHO best in the price range.

Does anyone have any info on this? Any and all help is appreciated.

The car is due for its next service in about 12 days so it'd be helpful if I know the potential causes of this sound.

Thank you, yes I got the service center to get both of them replaced under warranty. They saw that one of the struts had a leakage and the other had become weak because of taking the load.

Small update - Bought this at 9.3L :)

I plan to go through the whole thread now to understand the nuances of this beast. Happy motoring!
