Re: Land Rover Defender Review

Big wheels with thin profile tyres may look cool but could be a deterrent during off roading? I guess not many owners in India would be taking it to trails like shown in the below video but Leh-Ladakh isn't too far off and much more accessible in recent years. Heck, I know potholes with worse edges and more depth where I drive.

A good video, interesting bit starting at 11.50.

My neighbour accessorised his Defender 110 2.0L with the snorkel, external storage box and roof rack. A few pics...

I guess this is the most sought after color and accessories in market. In last one week I spotted two defender in this color and both had roof rack/luggage box and snorkel.

G-Wagon is the gangster we all knew but in front of the Defender everything pales out on Indian roads. Just look at the presence!!

Exactly!! This is something which a lot of people are unable to understand until they actually see the new Defender on the road. Videos and pictures do not do the least bit of justice to the sheer road presence this beast possesses. Attaching a screengrab from a video I was watching on YouTube. The Defender is standing between a Safari (2021) and a Carnival. The Safari looks like some sub-4m hatchback while the Carnival looks like an Ertiga or something of similar size when contrasted with the sheer bulk of Defender (which is in its regular ride height as far as I can tell)

Re: Land Rover Defender Review

Heritage Customs will build customised Defender 90 based convertible limited to 5 units.

It will come with semi electric foldable soft top. Customisation. Price $160,000.

Quote:
The conversion is based on the two-door short-wheelbase Defender 90. It includes cutting off the roof and the rear quarter panels/windows and replacing them with a “semi-electric” foldable soft-top.

I watched an ownership review of the Defender 110 P300 on YT where the man mentioned he was getting a mileage of 2-3 kmpl. What's your experience?

I watched “No Time To Die” recently. Ironically, 007 did not trust the Defender. He managed to outrun and beat a bunch of them in a decade old Toyota Landcruiser!

It is Toyota who should be launching a “007 Bond” edition!

Jokes aside, this chase is one of the most exhilarating sequences I have watched in some time. Beautiful backdrop of Norway certainly helped I guess. I enjoyed this more than the opening sequence in Italy with the Aston Martin.

Re: Land Rover Defender Review

Is it true that Defender is also facing the "chip" crunch. I've heard from a relative who has booked the 5 door P 300 say that if the customers pester too much for delivery they are delivered with cars with many features deleted due to the shortage of "chips" many such customers have refused to take delivery and a dealer is saddled with 4 such Defenders in TN with things like rear view camera and some essential features missing and is ready to sell at a discount!!??
